I’ve been to steakhouses in NYC and some of the best in NJ and I can say that III Forks is one of the best steakhouses I have ever been to. It is for sure the best steakhouse in Jacksonville. The food and service is always exceptional! If you go, ask for Brandon as he has been our server every time we have gone and he’s fantastic. Highly recommended.

At first, impressive wine selection. Then the wine list was presented and most of the wines I had seen on the way in were not on there. After a wait, the manager offered his assistance and apologies. I did try one of the btg wines… tip, be wine savvy. The manager was able to get me a wine from bottle list, that could accompany my lobster. Then, the medium burger temp equals hot, red center, just FYI. The lobster could have had a better option than 6 or16, but everything was scrumptious, including the cheesecake! Excellent, would do again.

I came to the Jacksonville area for an evaluation at mayo clinic, because my health isn’t the best. After two weeks of being around the hospital setting my mom treated me to a little vacation. I wanted to eat somewhere fancy and stumbled upon this place, it was the pictures that got me hooked. We got dressed up and drove about 15 minutes from our hotel and arrived at the destination. WOW! It was gorgeous from the second you walked in. We got in right away at 5:30 and got sat at a lovely table with a view of the fireplace and wine cellar. I looked at the menu knowing I was craving a steak. Our server, Alex(hope I’m spelling it right) was so amazing. She was sweet and very helpful. My mom and I both went with 8 oz. steaks, I got a Caesar salad and my mom got mushrooms with hers. They brought out bread which was fantastic with this cool butter plate I’ve never seen before, and then my salad… I know it’s weird to say but I could eat that every day of my life. Then the steaks came out cooked to perfection. Alex was always on her a game with beverage refills and even gave us more bread. The manager came over to check up and was super fun and not uptight like some other higher class places. My mom went over to the bathroom and explained how I have been sick and this was my treat for staying positive with everything and once I was already stuffed from the great food, Alex brought me over some cake and a glass of milk boy was that delicious. She also wished me luck with everything I’m going through and it warmed my heart. I am so glad I found this place, I don’t think any other steak will ever satisfy me as much as that one did and the experience made it 10x more enjoyable. Thank you so much for all that you guys do it was great! 10⁄10 will be back!

I was here dining on my own, my date was speaking at a dinner here. I asked that I wait to order, but after the waitress asked me the 3rd time I finally agreed despite the fact the meeting I was waiting on had not yet commenced. I asked that they hold my food until the group had started. My food was out in less than 10 minutes and again, the meeting hadn’t even started yet. I’ve never had this be an issue at another restaurant– and this place was not busy, despite it being a Friday night! I had the 6oz filet, which was cooked perfectly and very good. I also ordered the fried Brussel sprouts– I was SOEXCITED about them. Until they came out and had been fried with tons of shallots. I’m allergic. Here is my issue with this: I’d asked details about several of the sides– never was it mentioned about the shallots. Nor is it on the menu. Fail. They happily brought me another side, I got the asparagus– but they were clearly in such a rush to get it to me they didn’t cook it long enough. It was a bit under done and not seasoned. I ordered dessert as I still had plenty of time before the meeting was going to finish. I had the key lime pie, which was good. The server told me they make all the desserts in house. That’s a plus. I was a bit surprised at my lack of options in wine. The by the glass selection was small, and they were running a special on the champagnes and sparkling wines by the bottle– so I planned to do that. However they only had 5 options, which is okay, but even with the«special» ½ off, the price of a bottle was still 2x the cost of the bottle in a store. Restaurant wine mark ups are ridiculous.(Sorry. Soapbox.) My service was okay. I could never find my waitress when I needed her. On another note, this place is DARK! I understand ambiance but I could hardly see to walk in the bathroom.

A nightclub vibe, sans the loud music or skimpy dresses or even the crowd. Dark, woody, fully stocked bar with great service. Had a Jai Alai beer, a local favorite, and got a history lesson on what that fabled sport is! Google Jai Alai!!! FASTEST ball sport in the world. Food was heavenly. I had a lobster bisque. Now, i’ve had those in places from along the Boston — NY Coast, and a host of other places. This was was so different, mainly since there was SOMUCHLOBSTER! Nice huge chunks and the price wasnt bad at all! The Salmon was my main, heavenly. I didnt have to pay for the extra side as i just swapped out the rice for a side. Loved it!

Been wanting to try this place for a long time, but just never got around to it. My company gave me a gift card so I thought that would be the perfect opportunity. As usual, we sat at the bar. I ordered a Belvedere Martini(which was very good) and an appetizer of the wedge salad(which was just ok). The bread was disappointing… not sure what kind it was, but would have preferred warm sourdough or something. I ordered the Salmon Caesar salad and I really liked it. The salmon was cooked great and had a nice flavor. I also ordered a glass of wine recommended by the bartender that I liked. We also ordered the burger because we heard it was one of the best. It was pretty good, but the amount of cheese(a massively thick slice) kind of overtook the burger itself. My 3 stars comes from customer service. We were having a nice time and the bartender was friendly and helpful… UNTIL, we handed her the gift card. It was like her attitude automatically went to «great, two people who can’t really afford to eat here» and then the gift card wouldn’t work(there was $ 150 on there). She tried a few times and then just handed it back and said«there’s no money on here, it’s not working». I just looked at her like«ummm…well, maybe punch in the number or call your manager…» So, she finally had the manager come over, he figured out there was $ 150 on there and that the magnetic strip just wasn’t working so he got me a new card. He was very nice! The bartender NEVER came back over to see how we were or check on us or make sure we got everything taken care of. I would have gladly paid with my own card had there continued to be an issue but at that point, I was upset that she treated us like homeless people. I STILL gave her more than a 20% tip, just to be the bigger person and not let her attitude get to me. We will probably be back to try some new items and try again and use our gift card AGAIN to see what kind of service we get. Kind of a bummer, but still good food.

The service was not great. My wife and I live in Atlantic Beach so we rarely stray from our area. Our friends have been telling us about this place for a while and told us we should sit at the bar. My wife’s company gave her a gift card this past Christmas. I need really need to go twice to give a solid review. Today, we went, sat at the bar, and ordered food and drinks. The dark haired female bartender was nice. However, at the end, we paid with our gift card and the strip was not working. You could see she completely changed and started treated us like homeless people. It was very unpleasant and disappointing to say the least. We will be back, but not any time soon.

I’ve become less enamored of this place over time. It’s more expensive and less good than competitors like Capital Grille. My last two experiences have been frustrating(my last two reviews on Unilocal include my original opinion plus addendums if you care to read back). I got their scallops appetizer($ 19) and a glass of port. It came to $ 57 with tip. The scallops were quite good, as in the past, but still not up to the bacon-wrapped scallops they had when the place opened. The problem was with the port($ 13 for their cheapest, Taylor 10-year-old). They served me a tiny little glass of it. I decided I wouldn’t accept that: either they’d give me one DRINK or I’d return it for something else. One drink, in the United States, is 0.6 ounce of alcohol(it may vary slightly in other countries). That’s the amount in a beer, a glass of wine, or a shot of hard liquor. I’m of the opinion that all drinks should be one drink in size. That’s the point of the standard: so you can know how much you’ve drunk. When I tried explaining myself I got the impression the barmaid didn’t understand drink sizing and such. I said I wanted ONEDRINK, and explained how a glass of wine was 5 oz. so one drink of port should be 2⁄3 of that(since it’s about 50% higher in alcohol). That means a drink of port should be 31⁄3 ounces. Well, I got a larger drink back, though I couldn’t say exactly how many ounces was in it. Then a manager came over and told me they served 2 oz. of port, and they’d have to charge me more. That didn’t make me happy but I accepted it. So my one drink should have cost me the standard $ 13 plus 50%. Instead I was charged $ 26! I don’t know if I was served two drinks or not. It’s not like that would make it okay to charge me for two drinks: I had ASKED for one normal-sized drink. And the last time I got a daiquiri here it had ice in it(Google«daiquiri» if you don’t know what’s wrong with that), which I can’t forgive them for either. I think I’m through with this place.

I’ve eaten here before and the food and service have always been great. However this last visit was different. Our entire party arrived at 4:55, 5 minutes before our reservation, and the restaurant was empty. But the hostess would not seat us because according to her, the«kitchen staff gets mad when we seat someone before 5pm.» If you’re going to charge someone $ 95 for steak, you’d better get them a seat when one is available, not because your kitchen doesn’t like to have people seated before 5pm. The food was ok, the mussels were a bit tough. But for goodness sake, why make your customers wait for a table when your restaurant is empty!

I’ve always gone to either Capital Grille or Ruth’s Chris downtown when I wanted a high-end steak dinner. Occasionally 95 Cordova in St. Augustine where I was once surprised to get Kobe beef at a very reasonable price. I’m hard to please, having been a chef in a steakhouse long ago. If you’re going to charge $ 65 — $ 90 for a steak, it had better be done right. So I had an opportunity to finally sample III Forks with a group of folks from work celebrating a major project completion. I had heard friends say that this restaurant was their favorite place, and I frequently pass the location and see that it is usually doing a brisk business. Overall, they did some things very well — but my experience was nowhere near the quality I have experienced at the other restaurants I mentioned. We started with assorted appetizers for the table — I shared a dozen oysters on the half shell with my boss. These were small and sweet. Quite good and unexpected in a steakhouse. The seared scallops were perfectly cooked, crabcakes were delicious, and the lamb meatballs were an interesting addition with just a hint of heat and a little«eastern» flavor. Not something you would want to eat a lot of, but definitely a change of pace. There were also some plates of the Tomato and Burrata(with balsamic of course). Unfortunately, the restaurant should not have served this dish — the tomatoes were not ripe and detracted from the dish considerably. I never understand a chef who is willing to send something out of the kitchen with an ingredient that doesn’t make the grade. I had the lobster bisque, which was unusual — not very creamy and lacking the usual bits of lobster in the broth. Just a clump of lobster set in the middle. Now on to main courses. With 10 or 12 people at the table, I don’t know about everyone’s experience, but around me I saw that people who ordered the filet mignon were happy with their dish. I ordered the bone-in Prime Ribeye, as did another diner near me. Sorry to say, if this was really Prime beef there was a problem. We both ordered medium rare, and got a very under-cooked rare steak that was chewy. We were sawing away with our steak knives just to cut it. I ordered mine Oscar style to see if the kitchen knew how to make hollandaise. Once again, disappointed. The sauce was fairly tasteless, certainly not the thick lemony true hollandaise you would expect from a high-end kitchen that charges $ 14 for the topping(although most of that cost is lump crab and asparagus). Side dishes were the usual Asparagus, Creamed Spinach, and Lobster Mac & Cheese. Mostly unremarkable, except that I couldn’t find a single piece of lobster in the mac&cheese. Weird. Desserts were very good — crème brûlée was excellent, and a little unusual with a lemon flavor. Everyone was remarking about the cakes. I didn’t order dessert, but sampled cake and crème brûlée from my compatriots. It seemed like the sweets were the best things the kitchen produces! III Forks is better than your average restaurant, but for a place that charges premium prices for Prime beef it could do a lot better. Its ok, but I would prefer Ruth’s Chris downtown any day.

This is my third visit to 3 Forks. They have some of the best steak I have ever tried and I have tried a lot. The prices seemed to have gone up a lot but you get great food in return. My only qualm was the they removed the best dessert from their menu. The pecan layer cake was amazing and I wish they bring it back.

I eat out 14 times a week, all over the U.S. I think it’s time to start giving honest feedback; helping others make informed dining decisions. I have dined here many-many times. +Very Upscale +Great wine list. Andy, the sommelier, is extremely knowledgeable. +Bone-in steaks and the Wagyu beef are the best steaks in town. +Do not wear shorts or flip-flops, it’s not the venue. +They have one of the best burgers around. Soooo good. +Great valet attendants. It’s not inexpensive, but it’s a fantastic experience. Overall Grade: 99% out of 100% I highly recommend this restaurant.

III Forks is a classy place and I have to admit that when I first walked in wearing khakis and a button-up shirt I felt slightly under-dressed… the maître d’ was dressed to the 9’s including a bow-tie and jacket. I felt at first like I should be also be dressed similarly until I noted a couple of guys in the very swanky dining hall wearing cargo shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops. After that I was satisfied being at least not the worst-dressed guy in the building. From my experience in Jacksonville, III Forks is the most upscale APPEARING restaurant in the city. It is finely appointed with high end furnishings and it’s crystal clear that they want you to feel like you’re eating in a place of luxury. They’re extremely successful at creating a romantic, luxurious ambiance. I was led to the Captain’s Room for a business meeting. Unlike a lot of the other places I’ve gone for business presentations, this one was nicely decorated like a chic extension of the dining room. It was very nicely done and didn’t make me feel as if I was missing out on the excitement of the rest of the restaurant. As is the case with most high end restaurants that host business events, they offered a limited menu with a standard set of appetizers, a choice of entrees and a choice of dessert. Starting off at the beginning, I could almost ignore everything that was presented as an appetizer except for one glorious morsel that sat perched on my plate in heavenly glory(which is unfortunately not a regular menu item as far as I can see on their website) — a cheese-stuffed mushroom. To say it was good would be like calling the Mona Lisa ‘a painting of some chick’. This thing will keep me up at night… or possible give me randy dreams. I think it was stuffed with blue cheese but it might as well have been stuffed with MDMA(ecstasy, in case you didn’t catch it). The rest of the appetizers were good but didn’t matter because I only wanted more of this mushroom! Next I chose the Filet Minon for my entrée, mostly because it is a steakhouse and the other options weren’t steak. It was very nicely seasoned although my medium-rare came to me as a medium. I usually prefer my steaks swimming in their juices or a butter sauce or something but this one came dry. It was good though so it’s a minor matter of preference. The dessert options were the Texan Pecan Cake or the Chocolate Ganache Cake. After seeing pictures on Unilocal, the choice was an easy one and I snagged the Pecan Cake which was a perfect way to end my meal. It is easily one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. After coming her for business, it is clear that I need to return for a night on the town with my sweetheart!

Love this place! Our favorite bar menu and best place to celebrate special occasions! From the patio lounge to the old school steak house dining… can’t say enough. Curtis and the staff are the best! One of the tastiest hamburgers in town… expected in a steak house, right! But not always so. Never have been disappointed! Good food, good times!

Came here with a few friends, even though we didn’t order until a half hour before they close the waitress was extremely nice. I had a gin and tonic that was perfectly portioned and my friend had a ‘fruity’ drink she really liked as well. We ordered the bone marrow and foie gras for appetizers, the foie gras was good but nothing spectacular. The bone marrow came with beef cheek and that was well worth the money! For an entrée I had the vegetable ravioli which honestly was a bit of a disappointment, it was great quality but I did expect it to be a bit more flavorful. My boyfriend had a steak which was perfectly cooked, I’m not a big red meat person, but after having a bite was a little regretful I didn’t get one as well! It is rather expensive, having some specially steaks as high as $ 200! But the atmosphere, staff, and steak really made this place somewhere to visit if you’re looking to drop some cash on a nice dinner.

This place is pretty great! I also went here for an early birthday dinner.(Yes, I celebrated my birthday for a smooth week, sue me! lol) Overall the entry and atmosphere was really nice. I ordered a Raspberry sour for my cocktail and it was great! We ended up skipping appetizers but me and my bf split a wedge salad which was delicious. For my main course I had the 8 oz. filet which was cooked perfectly to my liking of medium rare. For sides, we did a family style array of 3 cheese potatoes, mushrooms, and asparagus. Oh! I almost forgot about the bread and sea salt butter! So good :) My boyfriend ordered a bone-in steak, so did his father. Bf’s mom also go the filet and so did my bf’s brother. Lastly, My bf’s brother’s gr(I know, long chain haha) ordered some fish. I believe it was the sea bass? She enjoyed it. Everyone loved their food! The only gripe was the loud table beside us! It got to a point where the table beside us was trying to convince the waitress to get up on top of the table to dance… it was just ridiculous. Once they left, we were all able to thourouly enjoy our food. Also, a nice touch was that my bf had a lot of sinew running through his steak, and although he didn’t officially complain and want the manager, our waiter provided us with a complimentary tray of all of the desserts they have on the menu. That was very generous of them to do so. So, I got to try the sweat bread and grabbed a slice of cheesecake all to myself! Which. was delicious! All in all, I enjoyed my time at III Forks and plan to come back for another special occasion.

Great steakhouse experience. III Forks is a great option for an upscale Steakhouse experience. My favorite things here: French Onion Soup, III Forks Salad, and the Bacon Sea Scallops. When I get the Filet, I really enjoy getting it Oscar Style — there is plenty of crab meat. They also bring around a tray of fresh Tomatoes and green onions. I love the green onions.

I came here for a company Christmas party and was very excited to see the inside of this restaurant from the pictures I had viewed online. When I came in with my fiancée we found our places to sit fairly quickly with our group and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. The restaurant gives off a very modern look using geometric shapes such as squares and circles and the use of the earthy colors makes the mood very mellow inside. As we sat, we were shown the wine and cocktail menu on an iPad which they let us scroll thru. I think it’s kind of neat that they have upgraded to iPads so I had a little bit of fun looking at everything on there. From the wine list I chose a bubbling Prosecco which was okay, but it was a little too dry for me. After I had finished with that I asked for a long island ice tea, which wasn’t on the menu(they do make a few other drinks) and it was definitely a strong drink. You get your money’s worth of alcohol from the drink, it was bearable but I wish it had a little more tea. When we finally started getting our food, they served us the most delcious bread with butter. The bread was so warm and soft like it was fresh out of the oven, delicious. Soon afterwards they began sending out the food from our set menu. Our appetizer consisted of shrimp cocktail, avocado and tuna on a kind of pita chip, and bruschetta, which they served us on our own individual plates. All of it was pretty delicious but the tuna and avocado was by far my favorite. I was impressed by the size of the shrimp from the shrimp cocktail though. The bruschetta was pretty good as well but I’ve never had it before so I really have nothing to compare it to. Right after the appetizers, we were given soup or caeser salad. I picked the lobster bisque, because why wouldnt I? This was by far the best lobster bisque I have ever had and they were not shy on the helpings of lobster that were in the soup. It was so creamy and full of flavor, but was simple at the same time. Moving on to the main course I ordered the salmon which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Let me tell you I loved that salmon, I wish I could have had another serving. The salmon was coated with a sweet pesto sauce and we were also given a lemon to squeeze on top of it, giving it a little citrus taste. The mashed potatoes were so flavorful that I could have been happy just eating that as a meal by itself. My fiancé got the ribeye steak and it was cooked perfectly and it was so tender and juicy. He definitely enjoyed his huge piece of steak to say the least. Last, but not least, I had the Texas Pecan Cake. I’ve never had this sorry of came before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. It was a light and had a good icing to bready ratio. I had a bite if the chocolate ganache cake and didn’t really like it, the chocolate was a bit too rich for me. The customer service was pretty good, sometimes took too long to bring a drink out. I think at one point someone forgot to bring a drink we ordered out. It definitely is a fancy place because they refold your fabric napkin when you get up to leave and do something, and if they catch you by your seat they will help you sit down and push your chair in! Different, but a wonderful experience overall. We were all contained in one part of the open restaurant, but I know there are beautiful, fancy private rooms that most likely cost a fortune. If you’ve got the money, try it out!
