Dear Publix Riverside Pharmacy. Please don’t tell me 45 minutes to have a prescription filled only for me to wait nearby having a bite to eat(which I wouldn’t have had if I weren’t simply wasting 45 min to wait on you) and return to you an hour and a half later and then tell me it’s not ready. «It’ll be another 15 minutes» the clerk said with no apology offered. Not a fan.

Parking sucks at peak times. My advice is to go during a weekday if you can. There are always parking spots far away from the store, which forces you to walk for less than a minute. However I don’t think this is a big deal, think of it as a little exercise. There aren’t cart collectors in the lot and I’m assuming that’s because it’s small. The store itself is very clean and organized and I never have a problem finding what I need. Even if I did, the friendly and attentive staff are always willing to help. We’ve recently tried cookies and cupcakes from their bakery and they were delicious. Not sure if they bake them in house but they are great. The reason for the 3 stars is the produce. I always check my blueberries, raspberries and strawberries for mold and try to pick the best ones. With in a day or two of use I always find mold! That combined with the fact that whenever I buy produce there, my house and fridge are filled with fruit flys! I’ll stick to the farmers market for produce.

Forget it. If I have to drive around for fifteen minutes just to find a parking spot, you can be sure I will never come back to this location. #ridiculous

Have been shopping here since the 1st morning they opened in 2002, This location is I think what Publix calls Neighborhood Concept. They are smaller stores that are in Urban Areas, Similar stores even with other chains are commonly found nationwide in Large Cities. It sure beats the typical small neighborhood markets often found in large cities, Parking is a hassle, but that is not Publix’s fault. There are many people who shop there from San Marco & Springfield — 2 nearby neighborhoods that do not have a Publix or really any Grocery Store to speak of. Since opening in 2002, numerous places(mainly restaurants) have been allowed to open within a block(or 2) that provide Absolutely No Parking! Guess What? The patrons of those places park in the Publix Lot or the Lot across Oak Street. The Parking Lot when this place was in the design stages and while being built was never planning to provide Free Parking to nearby businesses that are not located in this location. I bet some who grip & say the Parking Lot Sucks would be guilty of parking in Publix’s Lot when going to several of the places up the street.

There are three little reasons this Publix gets less than 5 stars. 1) because of the terrible parking 2) the fact that they offer samples less than I would like. 3) I wish they offered half size carts in addition to the full size and hand baskets. Other than that, I like this one much better than Roosevelt. It’s smaller, but somehow that makes things easier to find, the location is more ideal for my lifestyle. The lighting seems more welcoming, and the staff is just as friendly.

This is my favorite Publix in Jacksonville, largely because of its comparatively reasonable size and also because it’s in my neighborhood and if I feel like a nice walk I can wander over here and grab a few things. It’s not close enough to walk to for emergency groceries(read: oh no, I’m halfway through making dinner and I just realized I don’t have any eggs!), but that’s what my car is for. As others have said, the parking lot can be a terrible horrible no good very bad time, especially on weekend mornings or weekday early evenings, but if you come here a lot you can learn to avoid the insane times or at least know where else you can park(on Oak Street, over near 5 Points, wherever your car fits…). I’ve had just as much trouble parking at the larger stores I’ve frequented, so it doesn’t concern me that much. But once you’re inside, it’s wonderful. It’s a smaller footprint, so when you forget something from the bakery on one end and you’re in the frozen section on the other it doesn’t feel like a hassle to go back. They carry everything I need and many things I want as soon as I see them, and in fact there’s some stuff I can only find at this Publix, like specific frozen dinners and bakery items. The only thing I sometimes have trouble finding is my favorite sandwich bread, which even fully in stock usually only has three or four loaves hanging around, but it’s just bread and they have plenty of other options. :) Things I love about Publix in general over certain other competitors: BOGO deals, the hot soup bar, and the amazing selection of single-bottle beer(stored at room temp so I don’t have to drink it right away!). I’ll go elsewhere if I have to, but Publix is definitely my store.

I love Publix in general. But as others has said– this one just stinks. Don’t get me wrong; the Publix itself is fine. The parking lot sucks! It’s so tight and even circling around is a pain. Inside is okay– the aisles are a little tight. It’s not set up like your typical Publix– things are placed in places your typical Publix wouldn’t be set up. I go here mainly for the deli meats– they seem to be staffed but I always find myself waiting for service. All in all an okay Publix– but if you are in a hurry– stay away!

This location is close to my work and I come here from time to time. It is Publix«Neighborhood» concept, which simply means there was not enough room to build a normal huge store, so this is a scaled down version. Same great service and selection that you find at larger stores and associates are just as friendly and helpful. There is limited selection on some items, but there is still a bakery, deli, meat and produce departments. Great bakery and deli for catering. Parking is an issue, but only because people use the Publix parking lot to park for the restaurants and shops in the area. In general, parking is an issue in this part of town.

Parking is a HUGE problem that really needs to be solved, but the people are very nice for the most part and the store is always clean. If you really can’t find something or want them to carry an item that the larger Publix stores carry, they will do their best to get it for you.

Certainly parking can be a challenge here, but overall this Publix is a little gem! The staff is very helpful and produce seems to be fresh. There’s a great selection of specialty items for those on various diets and the prices are very competitive in the organic and vegan/vegetarian food sections compared to the natural foods markets in the area. The pre-made food & deli departments are always busy with customers so food turnover is probably high. A very desirable point for those looking for freshness and quality! And the fried chicken here is one of my ultimate weaknesses. Well organized and a little more upscale than other grocery stores makes this Publix great — where shopping is a pleasure!

I would argue that Publix fried chicken is some of the best I’ve had. Also, if you go there and pick up a box of chicken and don’t grab a gallon of sweet tea? Then man, you just need some help or something.

Oh Publix, it’s really not your fault. Service is great, deli is great, but dang… the parking lot. This is the closest grocery store to our home, but man, I NEVER want to go here because the parking situation is so terrible. On Tuesday, I had to circle around five times to find a spot… and as soon as I got into my car I was being stalked for my spot.(Give me just a sec OK!!) And getting out of the lot is a cluster you-know-what as well. Gives me road rage just thinking about it. And totally random, there was a parking officer in the lot writing tickets for what it appeared to be expired tags. Sorry Publix, I am a fan of yours, but I avoid this location like the plague. I’ll keep you at 3 stars, but just because shopping truly is a pleasure at other locations. Sad face.

How does one forget to bake the cake for a wedding?! That’s a pretty important day to mess up. I need them to do better. Period.

I recently attended a very close relative’s wedding in Jacksonville. Everything from the wedding ceremony to the reception was gorgeous and meticulously planned to ensure that the newly married couple and attending guests had a memorable celebration. Imagine everyone’s horror(particularly the bride and groom) when Publix Super Market FORGOT to make the wedding cake — a cake that had been ordered well in advance and paid for in full!!! I am recently married and fully understand the planning and stress(both good and bad) that go into executing a wedding that meets both the couple’s and guests’ needs. To not have one of the most pivotal items available and to be told that they simply forgot to make it, is unimaginable. My hat’s off to my relative and his new bride for maintaining their composure and not allowing this EGREGIOUSMISTAKE to ruin their day. While they may be a good supermarket on other levels(as evidenced by previous reviews), wedding cakes, time management, organization, and customer service were not evident this past weekend. Heed this warning — if you were even slightly considering Publix for your special occasion, please, please, PLEASE find another bakery!

IFYOUWANT A DELISANDWICH, GOTOTHISPUBLIX!!! I needed to say that right off. I’ll keep this short, becasue I’m Unilocaling about a supermarket… I must have insomnia. Overall, this is one of the better Publix’s I’ve been in. Sometime you go in one and it’s kind of sad. This one is clean, which I think is the most important factor. But let me get to the sole reason I keep going back, the deli sandwiches. They are huge, on freshly made french rolls, tons of boarshead meat to choose from, and pretty cheap. I was just telling my wife the other day that I really don’t have a good place in Jax to get a solid deli sandwich. Now I do, and who would have ever believed that it was Publix. I’ve gotten sandwiches from the two Publixes near my home, and they were awful. If you’re in Riverside and need a sandwich, hit Publix.

If you have ever shopped at a Publix, then you know that no other Super Market holds a candle to this grocery chain. Publix doesn’t just have the best commercials on your tv screen [yes, this is true and you know they make you cry too], but they offer a stellar shopping experience. First and foremost, lets discuss the Publix Brand. My husband and I buy Publix brand everything whenever we can. It is such high quality, often times better quality than its much more expensive competition, and the prices are great. They also have great organic selections which can be found in their Greenwise section or mixed in with the produce or meat sections. The only small downfall to this location is that it is pretty small [no pun intended], so if you are looking for a huge variety, this is not your spot [and in that case, head down the way to the Roosevelt location which is huge and amazing]. But for me, this place is the perfect size. I can get everything I need without getting lost inside a maze of aisles. They also have started offering a great Buy Six Beers for $ 9.99 mix and match deal. It’s actually not an awesome steal, financially, but is fun and interactive and if you buy six Unibrou’s [normally $ 9.99 for a four pack] it is actually a great deal! Just don’t drink all six in one setting and expect to feel even partially normal the next day. They have a very high alcohol content. The parking lot is usually packed and annoying to navigate, but it is worth it. Publix is the Platinum Medal Winner of Super Markets [as Russia’s Figure Skater Evgeni Plushenko would say].

I have been shopping here since it opened a few years ago and the store keeps getting better. It is one of the smallest Publix around but the management makes sure it stocks a little bit of everything — if they don’t have it, ASK! The management is very friendly and helpful to everyone. There is a great organic section, fab bakery, good selection of beer and wine, and a seafood section with a sushi«bar». The fried chicken from their deli is cooked fresh all day, which is a good thing because it moves very fast! This is a great place to shop for every day groceries, specialty items, or just to grab a sub and a drink and have a picnic lunch in Memorial Park(across the street).
