BESTGYROS !!! Mediterranean and Persian Catering and Delivery at the Riverside Arts Market. Best Gyros to compete with any New York or Chicago spot. The best late night food after a night out on the town is also great Saturday lunch along the River. «Fresh Pita» and the«The Sauce» is also a key to a great Gyros here. The plates with the pita sliced and a Gyros salad and rice plate is my next meal there. This type of food would be a great to change up and spice up your meeting or event! The Riverside Arts Market is a great way to start off your weekend with Farmers products and excellent food!

Trying to leave Riverside Arts Market without indulging in one of the many food trucks/tents that are set up here every Saturday is unfair to yourself. Don’t do it. I have tricked myself into walking away before but refused to this week. We chose Mediterranean and Persian(blah blah… rest of name) today because my wife is preggo and we needed something that was agreeable to her and the little one plus the rest of the squirts that were walking around with us. That eliminated Filipino, Jamaican, and a few other places. Gyros are fairly easy for everyone to enjoy so it was a bit of a no-brainer. The gentleman who owns this place is very friendly and offered a taste of the gyro meat before we decided to stay and grab something. A gyro with rice on the side costs $ 10. It’s a very healthy portion(much larger than most of the other booths will give you for the same price) but it still seemed a bit steep for food truck tastes IMHO. Their sign out front claims«Best Gyro in the World» or something very similar to that, which I personally think is just asking for argument. I really don’t think it wise to make that claim unless you are definitely sure you can back it up. I’ve tasted my fair share of gyros and this didn’t even come close. Not even in my top 10. However, it did taste great and I have few complaints about the gyro itself. I’m used to my gyro meat sliced thin but this was chopped into large blocks. It didn’t really change the taste but made it a bit more difficult to eat. One thing that was a huge disappointment was the rice. It was bad. Like spit-it-back-onto-the-plate bad. Overall I was satisfied with my lunch but admittedly expected a bit better. Next time I’ll try the Filipino place which had an insanely long line(I’m assuming there is a good reason for that). I do have to make a recommendation to the owner should he ever come and find his business on here: change your business name. It’s hard to recommend something to someone when it is such a mouthful(the name, not the food). I understand that it is very specific and accurate but sometimes something less direct will be just as effective. Just a suggestion.
