Wish I could double the stars to ten. Had a phenomenal time. This was the inaugural event for this transitional neighborhood. Springfield is literally a diamond in the rough and on this day, it sparkled even though it was overcast. Kudos to the organizers, the musicians and to all the people who wandered the streets in search of minstrels and their magic. Bravo to the people who hosted the musicians on their porches. Can’t wait for Porchfest Part deux.

Absolutely fabulous day. Ok the weather wasn’t the best part but the music was. We went down today for the first ever and it better start being at least an annual thing. It was too cool as we strolled down the streets of Springfield. There were so many small bands from a couple of guitars and a banjo with the Redneck hummus group. To the whole band thingy with Canary in the Coalmine. But the band that blew us away was the Mambo Mike & the Po Boys with Spice. Let me tell you that girl has a set of pipes on her. they played some good olé Cajun crawl music that just makes you want to dance, sing and eat some good food. There was food also with the likes of Smoke it Up BBQ, Celeb’s Kitchen, The Jalapeño Truck and of course Sweet Pete’s. You also got to walk the streets and see the houses and if my wife gets her way Call in the movers Jenny. The houses are beautiful and I like a bunch of them too. This was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon so I can’t wait till the next one.

This was a huge amount of fun! Think of the jazz fest, but with different kinds of music, Mad Cowford improv, and a bunch of great people. On porches, in a beautiful and historic neighborhood. Oh, and food trucks galore. I’m definitely coming back next year – just make sure you arrive early do you’re not parking a long ways away like I had to today!
