This is my favorite event in Jacksonville. No, it’s not Sundance or TriBeca, but the fact that J-ville pulls this off each year and it’s only gotten bigger, is impressive. It’s expanded into Riverside as well. It’s nice to see films in a variety of venues: Florida Theater, Five Points, Fuel, the Public Library. The quality of movies that are screened during this festival are great. It’s due to this festival that I’ve had the chance(and reason) to try restaurants in downtown Jax and Riverside. Movies such as Factotum with Matt Dillon and Chalk have been featured at the festival. My advice is to buy at least the pass that gets you the 10 movies. The all access pass is great, but for those of us that work a regular 9 – 5 job, it might not be as easy to see everything, which makes it not worth the money. But if you can take the days off, or happen not to work any Friday, Saturday, or Sundays — go for the all access.
