Granted the prices can be pricey at DM, it’s the service and products that are worthwhile. I came into the store looking for maternity bras and the sales associate helped me with my «picky pregnancy needs.» She was so helpful that she explained the various products I had questions about — boppy pillows, pants, etc. Now the prices can be $$ BUT wait… there’s clearance racks. yes that rack was my friend. I’m the type of person that cannot justify spending over $ 30.00 on a top. I sometimes still think of myself as a broke college student living on a budget when indeed my now salary as a professional can allow me to splurge. The clearances are great and there’s much to look through. DM also works with Baptist Hospital to offer classes to expectant parents. My hubby took a «Dads-to-be» class and I take the saturday am Prenatal yoga classes. This place is on my books of COOL and I’ve happened to have 2 great expereinces thus far.

This place has some cool stuff, and not just for the expectant mom either, but also baby clothes(typically newborns), baby UUG’s, diaper bags, books, gifts, and a bunch of other stuff. This store is pretty cool in that it’s divided into two clothing sections, a pea in the pod(the more expensive stuff) is at the front of the store, and motherhood(the most affordable of the two) is at the back. They also have a nice sized waiting area complete with comfy seating and large flat screen tv’s so your significant other can chill out while you browse and try things on. They also have a place for younger kids to play in case your bringing them with you. The sales staff is also very professional and friendly and will offer you complementary juice or water upon entry as they want to ensure all expectant women or not are staying hydrated. If your thinking that this is just a frumpy maternity store and that you won’t use these clothes after you have your baby… think again, they carry major name brands here, like True religion and such. I’ve even come here with a pregnant friend and gotten some pretty cool jeans for myself… hehehe(no one can tell the difference, and they’re way more comfy)! Plus the sales associates say they have lots of women who do the same, especially with the fitted tops bc the only difference in those is that they make them longer so that when you bend down your backside or stomach won’t show(just in case you wear those low rise jeans). If your looking to get your own hospital gown for your special d-day, they also carry a variety of those here as well. They also have baby classes that you can sign up for here as well in their studio.

The Good: Back to back flat screens, one side had college football playing w/comfortable«man chairs», the other side w/kids shows and a little indoor playground. Immediate«attention» when entering, asking questions but…(see The«Not So Good»). Definitely put a lot into the atmosphere and I would give 9⁄10 for atmosphere. I might add it was very easy to get to and in and out of. The«Not So Good»: While they asked questions(what you were looking for etc) this particular saleswoman did not listen. My wife was very specific on at least 2 – 3 particular things, for instance; no fluorescents or short dresses. It became very apparent, very quickly that she had an agenda on what she wanted to sell not what my wife was looking for. She even started bringing underwear which was never discussed. Also a lot of pressure while my wife was trying on clothes. Literally standing there talking to her while she was trying them on. Even the clearance clothes were pricey, I’m no expert on maternity clothes(however I do have 6 children so I kinda am), women’s clothes or even clothes but I know this $ 100 pants need to be something my wife wants, not what the saleswoman wants. Honestly, we would’ve have easily spent $ 500-$ 600 there yesterday but the agenda or non listening(probably both… it felt like commission sales) of the young lady was too much. Interestingly enough we did visit Old Navy and Target later and while I know the quality and selection wasn’t the same, my wife left smiling. The Solution: When you ask a customer questions, ACTUALLY listen, you could’ve had a Customer for Life. It doesn’t do any good to have all the other stuff if you aren’t actually going to listen to what your customer wants. Certainly a pregnant one. Side note: the saleswoman wasn’t all bad, in fact she had a lot of it down. Per my wife,“She would’ve been much better suited at a «younger, hipper» type store.“ Maybe we caught them on a «bad day» not sure but in retail a «bad day» can cost you ALOT. Not just my sales but a mediocre Unilocal review, etc, etc, etc.
