I was visiting Jacksonville and stumbled upon this gem. Located in a vibrant and energetic neighborhood called Five Points, Cozy Tea is a pleasant place to enjoy a cup of tea, have a pastry, or eat lunch. They have a wide selection of delicious teas from all over the globe. The owner, Shika, is very friendly and helped me make a tea selection(The Star of India) which I drank while finishing some work. This restaurant has earned a slot on my itinerary whenever I come to Jacksonville.

My daughter and I had a wonderful lunch at Cozy Tea for our weekly Friday date. Both of us have been wanting to go here, and with a milestone birthday coming up(16!) we thought it was a good time to go. The place is adorable inside. It’s elegant and eclectic, straddling the fine line between casual and fancy. Everything is artfully mismatched, from china to linens to the chairs. I ordered a small pot of Earl Grey and Rita had the Angel Dream. Earl Grey is my favorite, has been since childhood, and their blend was perfection, living up to the hype on the menu. Rita really enjoyed hers as well. The separate tea menu is huge, and it was hard for her to pick one. The small pot held 3 cups of tea and we drank every drop. Everything on the menu sounded good and it was hard to choose, but eventually we both decided to have the hot pastry plate which included soup and a spring salad.(Salad dressing is served in the side, nice touch.) I had the sausage roll(scrumptious with a savory mild sausage and cheese in phyllo dough) and Rita had the tomato tart(divine, phyllo dough with cheese and fresh tomatoes); we both had the baked potato soup(really good). At first glance, the servings appear small, but it’s misleading and was just the right amount. For dessert we split an apricot scone with cream(added charge, but worth it). It was served very warm and was incredibly delicious. I very well could have made a meal out of just that. We really enjoyed everything here. It is expensive, so we decided we’ll stick to tea and scones when we come back for another Friday date and leave the plates for special occasions.

This place is quite a hidden gem in the midst of Five Points. The lunch today was a 10+. Had the tomato basil quiche and spicy corn and butternut squash soup… both were superb. Brought a cherry coconut scone back for a later snack because I am full. Can’t wait to try.

I love Cozy Tea. The owners are very friendly, along with the staff. They have an extensive list of wonderful teas. The food portions are a tad small, but about as you’d expect with tea,(dainty). The atmosphere is lovely.

The scones were amazing. I had the toasted coconut one and I honestly have no complaints about it. It was perfect in every sense of the word. However, the customer service was so horrendous, I would never come back. I love tea and tea rooms. Tea rooms are about the experience. You can get good tea and scones anywhere for cheaper. The scones were great, but not worth the headache that came with it.

My favorite tea place in town. It’s cozy. It’s cute. I had the sour cream baked potato soup(very good), Egyptian chamomile tea(my favorite) and a blueberry scone, amazing, baked fresh). And the service is great, very friendly.

Took my wife for her birthday earlier this month. Fantastic service, great scones(actually has a selection of them — all baked fresh!), rather filling meal. I’m new to the tea house scene, but her feedback was: –Best egg salad sandwiches she has EVER had. –GREAT selection of teas –scones(we agreed) were AMAZING. –Best chicken salad I’ve yet to try, with a pleasant hint of curry. –Very perceptive staff. I assume it was the owner even made the rounds to check how everyone was doing. This was about 2:30 in the afternoon, and we had the smaller lunch tea.

On a weekend trip to Jacksonville my mom wanted to take me to the Cozy Tea room – she had been talking about it for months so I pretty excited to finally give it a try. We started with a curry chicken pastry which was absolutely delicious. Warm, flaky crust with a perfectly spiced shredded chicken curry inside. My only regret is that we shared and I didn’t get to enjoy this tasty morsel on my own. We each got a pot of tea(I tried the vanilla cream black tea) and a scone(I had the orange cranberry. Both the tea and the scone were good. However, I have been to tea rooms that have done a better job with presentation and proper accompaniments to go along with the tea. They were out of the homemade jam that the waitress had really sold us on so instead we were given two scoops of clotted cream to go with our scones. I was a bit disappointed although the flavor of the scone and the cream was still good. The tea also did not come with sugar cubes and milk/cream-I had to ask for the milk which was brought to me in a glass salt shaker(thought that was a bit strange). The sugar was on the table and consisted of sugar packets including Splenda and plain white granulated sugar. For the price I would have expected a bit nicer presentation than sugar packets and milk served in a salt shaker. Despite these minor complaints, everything tasted really good and I would return to try some of the more savory dishes in the future – oh and of course to get another curry chicken pastry!

What a lovely lunch! :) Wanted to do something special for my little ones so decided to go to Cozy Tea for a lil tea party! When you walk in it is decorated adorable, exactly like what you would expect a tea house to look like. Antique feel, miss matched china plates and cups, nice women working there. My girls were excited right away, now to the menu… Basically 3 different menus Tea, Food, and Dessert Tea– these are served in individual tea pots that hold about 4 cups of tea each, which is pretty cool cause you can all pick your own flavor, we got… raspberry honey, mango mist, and bourbon vanilla rooiboos… all were so good and rich in flavor Food– basically sandwiches, soup, quiche, salads… all were good but definitely expensive, they are served in small portions Dessert– yummy… brownies, cakes, scones, truffles, chocolates… the star here is the scones, served warm with cream and jam… they were surprisingly light and fluffy very tasty! This was a great lunch, yes it was expensive costing around $ 50 for me and 2 kids so it would be more of a treat but we all really enjoyed our tea party here!

We have been here millions of times since they opened. Their quality and service never fails. Every time we visit here, we pick different ones and they always taste marvelous. The owner is very nice and everyone there that works here always give their best. The name«Cozy Tea» fits well. Makes us feel at home or sometimes, paradise.

Great place to have tea! Nice atmosphere and the vanilla cream tea is delicious. Scones are great. The tomato herb soup was very good, not too strong on the herb, just enough.

Cozy Tea did not disappoint! I opt out of the a la carte menu and just decided to order the full afternoon tea course for $ 24.95! I wanted to try a little of everything! I picked the Sencha Kyoto tea and it was the perfect blend of flavor and aroma. The warm pineapple lemon scone was just mouth watering that I ordered two to go! The highlight will be the chicken curry sandwich! Wow… l love the ambience. The staff was very cordial and accommodating. It was such a delightful experience.

I love the quaint and cozy environment. The woman who served us was a delightful and genuine soul. They had delicious options for a vegetarian diet. I had the spring vegetable soup and lentil veggie pie. The freshly baked scones are out of this world! You must try them! We got the coconut black tea and the black monk tea. The monk tea was very flavorful and delicious without any sweetener.

Tea lovely tea. The potato soup and crab quiche were excellent! The ginger mango tea was so tasty too. I will be back for more tea. The bread pudding and vanilla sugar cake were delicious and worth every bite.

I think this is a great place to hang out, sip on some delicious tea and have a yummy light lunch. I love their tomato basil soup and their butternut squash soup is pretty good. The egg salad sandwich was good and I would love to try the chicken salad next time(I’ve heard good things). I would say it is a little on the pricy side for what you get. Can easily spend 15 dollars or so with a small lunch, pot of tea and a scone. But I think it’s totally worth it every once in a while! Highly recommend.

I used to frequent Cozy Tea when I lived in Riverside. I love the location, cute décor, and the food. The service and management always make me leaving a little perturbed and portions are small for what you pay. Service is slow but the food is delicious. My meal was $ 12.50 for a small curry chicken puff pastry, small side salad, and cup of soup. I only ate the soup and brought the rest for a friend. She loved it. We also ordered a large pot of blueberry tea and they charge you a $ 1.75 for sharing. I crave that tea so that’s what keeps me coming back! They have a nice selection of scones, truffles, and cakes as well.

I really wanted to love this place, I really did but there are so many things about this place that I just can’t overlook. Like the fact that I spent over two hours in this place just trying to get lunch! First, walked in and we were greeted nicely and sat promptly although I did giggle a bit when the server asked me if my two year old needed a regular menu, because she is too young to know how to read. We did let them know we were expecting one more person but it seemed like that was a cue to ignore getting our drink order until she got there. We would have to wait for our friend who was running a bit late to order our food and drinks it’s seemed like. We finally ordered drinks and they didn’t take our food order at the same time which was odd and they waited until they brought out all our drinks to take the order, in fact we had to ask if anyone would take our order. Finally ordered and it took the food an extremely long time to come out. What took the food so long who knows and the whole time we were scared of sharing our plates of food because of the notorious sharing charges they have. I had to get permission to share my pot of hot chocolate with my two year old. Just silly to think they could charge for me to share with my child if they felt like it. The food was good. Nothing spectacular. The potato soup was not creamy it was more of a watery broth type soup which was tasty but not the best I’ve had either. The curry puff pastry was really good but when I asked what kind of curry they use I got the run around so maybe they didn’t know. My husbands tomato soup was nice and creamy and that was actually better than i anticipated. Desserts were actually very very good. I might come back just for hot chocolate and dessert but even then that would run me about $ 10 plus tip. Coconut tart was my favorite and I would def reccomend trying it. I just don’t know if I can stomach paying $ 70 for three adults and one 2year old for lunch and have to do it in over two hours. Very unlikely I would go back to eat but maybe for desserts.

I was excited to try Cozy Tea and found myself underwhelmed. Located in the heart of Five Points, the restaurant is cute and the décor is kitschy. Even though a bustling street is right outside, inside was warm, quiet, and welcoming. There are a bunch of tea choices, and I enjoyed branching out. Each tea is brought in an individual pot with the usual cream/sugar/lemon accoutrements if you’d like them. My main issue if the food and pricing. It’s just not worth the price. We ordered two pots of tea, the shrimp salad sandwich with side salad, curry chicken salad sandwich, and two scones. I’ve had a formal high tea. It was about $ 40 a person and totally worth it. This was not the same. First, cut the crusts off the sandwich. It makes a huge difference in presentation and fits more with the delicate tea sandwich vibe. The filling was tasty but skimpy. Same with the salad, totally not worth the price. The scones were tasty, but a little too delicate a texture for my liking. We chose the cherry coconut and apricot scones. It was more a sweet scone with tiny dots of cherries/apricots. The scones could have been out of this world if there were more of the actual flavor ingredients. While there, two ladies and a little girl arrived for lunch to celebrate the kid’s birthday. Both adults were ordering the full afternoon tea and saw the sharing plate charge. They asked about the sharing charge for the child and the owner did waive it but it took a few minutes of conversation. I’ll willing pay a share plate charge at a restaurant where it matters — playing is separate, you get a little more side dish, etc. but tea sandwiches and scones? Come on. I hate feeling like I’m being nickel and dimed at a restaurant and that’s how I felt leaving Cozy Tea. I think some presentation and menu tweaks could make it great.

How have I lived in Jax all my life and have not been here until now!!! I think I’m about to have a love affair with tea LOL I honestly didn’t know what to expect. When I walked in, I felt like I was in an antique store and felt like I was transported to somewhere back in time. I was greeted by old school floral tablecloths, mismatched chairs, and a sign that asked me to wait to be seated. A woman who looked of Indian decent, but who had an English accent, welcomed me and sat me at a table that gave me a global view of the restaurant. I told her it was my first time. She smiled and asked me how I knew about this place. I proudly told her Unilocal :) She gave me a grand tour through the food and tea menus. I salivated as she explained the selections. I debated over the Blueberry Black Tea and the Blue Lady black tea. She loved both, but helped me lean towards the Blue Lady. I also debated over the cherry coconut scone and the pineapple lemon scone, but my sweet tooth ended up asking for both scones :) The moment the tea and scones hit the table, it was love at first sight. What an even more sweet love affair when I ever so slowly sipped my tea and placed those delicate morsels of scones in my mouth(((DREAMYSTATEOFMIND))) Ahem… where was I? Ah yes, another great thing about Cozy Tea is that they host private events like Bridal Showers :) The owner gave me a brochure on how to host a private event there. I will definitely keep this place in mind. Such a lovely place! :)

I have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to go to Cozy Tea and yesterday was it. A friend of mine who lives on the Northside, and who rarely comes to this side of town, joined me for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary at Sun-Ray. I told her she could pick any place that she wanted to go and she just told me, «somewhere with sandwiches.» Immediately Cozy Tea came to mind, and was the most appropriate place that I could think of to have lunch prior to the show. This place is an absolute gem. Upon walking in, my very first thought was this would be an excellent place for a teddy bear tea party, for reals! It also helped that there was a group in there already dressed in homemade dresses that made me think of the Mad Hatter’s tea party in Alice in Wonderland. I’m totally thinking about doing a Doctor Who tea party before the Christmas special. There is a huge selection of tea. Any types of tea that you want — black, green, white, Indian Chai, rooibos, oolong, English, estate, decaffeinated, and specialty teas. There are also herb and fruit tisanes that are caffeine free and great for kids. I ended up going with the Angel’s Dream specialty tea. It has a hint of maple and full on blackberry. I added a tad bit of milk and two sugars, and it was perfect. Since we had went early for lunch, we couldn’t experience full or light afternoon tea spread, but that will definitely give me a reason for a return trip. In any case, we each got a small pot of tea, the curried chicken salad sandwich, and a side. I got the Spring Vegetable soup. Everything was super yummy and surprisingly filling. I didn’t really look at the prices of things and just ordered what I wanted. I expected my check to be relatively higher than what it was and I was pleasantly surprised to find the opposite. Cozy Tea will be seeing more of me. I think a tea party before the Christmas special will be spectacular.
