Brought our 2-year-old to experience Build-A-Bear for the first time, and she had a great time! The associate(Liz) was super friendly and interactive. We were the first family in the store on a Thursday morning. That’s the time to go. There was only one other family there, so no worries on being packed in. Be prepared to spend some dough if you give in to your kids — our toddler was enamored with one accessory and it was $ 30(no, we didn’t buy it). We walked out with a new friend and two accessories for $ 25. Not too bad for a fun memory.

I gotta say that 2 stuffed bears later and Emma and I have been pretty happy with the process here. On two separate occasions we always get great service and the bear stuffers never seem to rush us. The only thing is, is that on the weekend this place can get super duper crowded with little kids. However that seems to be out of the stores control. They always have really cute outfits for the Bears and the sound options are cute too. Don’t forget to check out the clearance section for cheap bear clothes :-)

Bring your check book! Kids love this place… parents might not like it so much at the register. My daughter had the time of her life making the kitty(yeah, I know it’s called ‘build a BEAR’). I am actually amazed too because the initial«newness» hasn’t worn off– she is still treating the kitty like a child and loves it! This is great as a reward for something but not a regular thing, too expensive. My daughter got all A’s this year so this was her reward :).

How totally fun is it to build a bear? Or a Monkey, a cat, or many other different little critters? As an adult, I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve build quite a few of these cuties. My husband has even built a monkey… with roller skates! :D The concept is pretty simple, which I’m guessing most of you are familiar with: You pick a bear(or other critter), then you can pick a heart to place in him/her(make a wish before you place it inside, then stuff him, then dress him. SO many different options for dressing your new little friend! The employees here are super friendly and make the experience a really great one. They all seem to really love their jobs and they are so good with the kids. I also like buying gift cards here for my nieces, nephews(yes, even little boys enjoy doing this), and friends’ children. I know small kids don’t much care for gift cards… they’d rather get their present right then and there, but I’ve never seen a kid who didn’t like a Build-A-Bear gift card!
