Definitely a must! Painkiller cocktail is amazing! I’m a lightweight but it had me feeling good at one drink. Cool atmosphere and Liam the bartender knows what he is doing! Great service and pizza is on point. You won’t be disappointed.

It’s Valentine’s Day. I take a date there because I love V Pizza. All the tables at bar were dirty. Tables weren’t wiped off. Dishes and glasses everywhere. My date went to get drinks at bar and the bartender basically ignored him. Poor service. I was embarrassed to bring him there after saying how much I liked this place.

Flask and canon was great and as always I have a few reasons why as well as one way they could get to a 5 star rating. 1) Knowledgeable Staff — The bartender know his stuff, made great drink recommendations and the rum Old Fashioned was amazing. I try to always ask the bartender what drink he recommends and this one was a great one. 2) Great food — So Flask and Cannon doesn’t have food there but it is attached to a pizza place. The pesto chicken Panini was really good. 3) Location — The close proximity to the beach perfect for a nice day in the sun then a cool drink Ways to improve(One small Improvement) –Open the Place up — With the close proximity to the ocean, having a large nana wall or accordion wall would give better sea breezes and make the spot feel bigger. Other than that point it is a great cocktail spot, great staff and a must for the Jax Beach area.

Nice bar for the beaches. Certainly better than what was in this spot before. Pretty open area inside. Service is hit or miss for drinks. Goes hand in hand with V Pizza being off to the side of it which also has good pizza. They have live bands every now and then. I prefer the spot in San Marco though. See my review for V Pizza if you want to know more.

Craft cocktails — many with a tiki theme, perfectly balanced and plenty of variety for whatever you fancy. Ask your highly knowledgable waitress if some of the ingredients seem foreign. My server was able to liken each drink to a known cocktail and also let me know what to expect in terms of sweetness.(Not a huge fan of sweet sweet drinks). I didn’t try anything I didn’t like and if you’re a beer lover, fin du monde is on tap!

This is my new favorite place! It’s tiki themed so there are a lot of different types of very good rum, but there’s also a great selection of other alcohol like beer, scotch, bourbon, etc… The bartenders are absolutely wonderful! They are very attentive and nice. I love to see the detail in which they make drinks, and how they only use fresh ingredients. We saw one using an eye dropper to add and ingredient to my drink. From the beautiful wood interior to the wide variety of people you’ll see here, the vibe is great. We went last night… there was a good singer playing dub-type music, and the huge windows on the front of the place were open which added to the atmosphere. I had the jungle bird which has rum, aeropol, pineapple juice, absinthe, and probably a couple of other things. It’s new to the menu, and isn’t on the printed one yet. It’s crisp and refreshing with a light sweetness. It’s fabulous! Can’t wait to try others!

This is one of the 3 locations in Jax that’s connected to a V Pizza. This is the first time I came here and am digging the vibe. After dinner, my hubby and I got some drinks. He had an Italian beer and I tried No Tan Lines, which is one of their craft drinks. I was very happy of the freshness and depth of this drink. I will definitely get it again :) The bar itself is setup with high stools and wooden tables all around. The tables have purse hooks on the sides and some tables are next to columns with outlets. There are several flat-screen TVs hung around the walls. We went on a Saturday night so the only shows on TV were college footballs games. Great addition to Jax Beach! Great drinks in a relaxed atmosphere.

We stopped in yesterday for a drink. Moscow Mules were $ 4 on special. They were pretty tasty. It is connected to the V’s pizza place which looked and smelled good. The place looks pretty new and is open. It’s a good place to come for a cocktail and pizza.

3rd time we have been there. First was good. Second, we left because could not get served at bar after 20 minutes. Last night, food was ok but bar service still horrible. Bartenders more worried about prep work than serving customers. Caprese salad more lettuce than anything else.

I ventured into V Pizza a few weeks ago when they opened and was waiting to come back and try the bar. I had enjoyed time at Sidecar, so I was interested to see what these guys had up their sleeves for the beach. We may be one big city, but we definitely have multiple personalities in the neighborhoods. Flask & Cannon is a great addition to the Jax Beach bar scene. Being able to order a pizza from the bar area is a definite plus. On this first visit I was meeting some fellow Unilocalers to check out the space and see what bevvies they had to offer. For my first round I went with the Smuggler’s Julep. I’ve enjoyed a Julep or two during derby parties, but was never a huge fan. Whatever they smuggled into this drink makes it delicious. I loved it so much that I went back for another rather than switching it up for my second round. There was another drink that caught my attention — the Silky Johnson. It was my sister’s wedding weekend and her married name was going to be Johnson. The one thing that turned me slightly off to ordering this drink at first was the egg whites. Not usually a fan and I don’t enjoy old fashioned egg creams, so I was hesitant to order this one straight out of the gate. After chatting with the bartender about what the egg whites offered to the drink, I decided to go for the full Silky Johnson. It was delicious. The tongue-in-cheek playfulness of many of their drinks is not lost on this girl. Plenty of space & tables. Live music on the weekends(at least Saturday nights). Super friendly staff. Jax Beach is ready to be the cool place to be this summer for sure.

5 stars for super impressive(and delicious) cocktails at the beach! We met up with a few friends, eager to check out Sidecar’s beachy sister… and I was seriously impressed. Lots of wood work and long community tables give this place a warm and earthy feel, a little dark, but hey, if you are drinking you don’t want a ton of florescent lighting all up in your face. And there is plenty of parking right across the street. The cocktails are mainly rum based(but not exclusively) and since this is a rum bar, the rum list is impressive.(And perfect for the location.) I started off with Hemingway’s Daquiri: cana brava, lime, grapefruit, simple syrup and luxardo maraschino. Tangy, but not to much, and packs a nice alcoholic punch. A great starter drink! My favorite drink of the night was Don Pedro’s Conquest: St. Aug vodka, benedictine, simple syrup, datil tincture and guava foam. This was amazing. I didn’t notice the spice from the datil, but the overall taste was just the right amount of sweet and a perfect balance. I’ll admit, I didn’t know what benedictine was, but found some very cool history about it and tasting notes here: And when you’ve had a few cocktails, you’ll need a few bites to soak up the sips. Just like Sidecar and V Pizza in San Marco, V Pizza is right here, and you can order from the bar. I’ll get into the pizza on V’s listing, but it was so super convenient to get our pizzas right at the bar. Bravo Flask and Cannon! You are pretty close in the running for my favorite cocktail in town.

Awesome place to stop and grab a drink right on the beach! My friend and I were visiting from out of town and stumbled across this place after reading some great Unilocal reviews. Lived up to all expectations and beyond! Kevin recommended the chicken wings(which were UH-MAZING) and Jim whipped me up a cocktail called«No Tan Lines» which was perfect! We ended up hanging around much longer than we had expected to, had a few more drinks, great conversation and even snagged a drink for two that was served in a pineapple! How cool! These guys obviously love their job, the business has only been open a few weeks and it’s a great establishment. If you’re in the area(or heck, even if it’s a little ways out of the way) stop in and check it out!

We had the pleasure of going to the beaches newest bar n restaurant combo. We went with a group of drinkers so they let us non drinkers stay. Having been to the other side a few times now and had a good time and a bad time. The first time I was next door they still weren’t opened and that seemed a little weird to the Bob the Builder in me. This place came out looking pretty sweet with a lot of wood work. Another gathering of old pallets if you asked me. I would say that everyone at our table enjoyed the drinks. They kept going back for more all night long. Now we did take advantage of the pretty good pizza joint next door to now. We all got pizzas and shared like good Unilocalers. We even dug into a sampling of their dessert which was quite yummy. Now I really can’t say how many times we will return to this side but we will be back to the other side Z Pizza.

Quaint little joint located in between Mangos and across from Jax Beach. This is a new go to for me with innovative, relatively inexpensive drinks(and amazing Happy Hour specials!) Each drink has it’s own unique name and lots of creative ingredients. I think I would have been happy to try any(and all ;)) of them. My front runners for choosing were Painkiller #2, F&C Zombie and 3 Dots and a Dash. Luckily, as indecisive as I am I chose the F&C Zombie, per the suggestion of my incredibly talented bartender with the equally incredible mustache, and it did not disappoint! Not only did it go down smooth despite having 151 as it’s top ingredient contender it was beautiful(see picture below). It was adorned with the freshest of mint leaves, a baby tropical flower. The Smuggler’s Julep was also very refreshing(a must if you like mint)! I noticed that they have lovely garnishes for all their drinks, colorful straws, mini beachy umbrellas, not to mention if you’re sitting away from the bar you have a nice view. Too bad you can’t bring drinks outside because the walk to the ocean would be a pretty short one. As far as seating goes, there are high top bar seats from left to right of the bar and several rectangular high top tables with chairs. The atmosphere is hip/hipster/beachy, totally casual but«dress up» if you like, I did. It was quiet when we arrived but by the time Happy Hour was over the place was jumping. I could see they would soon have live music(huge plus) but I missed the show. Flask & Cannon is connected to V Pizza. This is awesome because V Pizza rocks! With fresh ingredients and delicious Italian/NY style menu choices, it’s hard to go wrong. The lighting in F&C vs. V Pizza is like night and day which I think is hilarious. V is brightly lit and upbeat whereas F&C is very dim and laid back. Being in amazing company made last night all the more special :) I think Flask & Cannon is a great addition to the Jax Beach area!

Cool new addition to Jax Beach!!! I love the sister spot in San Marco so had to come check out Flask & Cannon. Very different from Side Bar and very similar at the same time. The décor is mainly wood with long tables and stools and some seats at the bar in the back. We ordered drinks at the bar and then moved to a table and a waitress immediately came to check on us and got us a second round when we were ready. The windows at the front open up completely so on nice days they can really open up the space and make it have an outdoor feel. Being right on 1st Street it will be awesome in the summertime! This spot has lots more beachy islandy drinks and specializes in R(h)um drinks. I had something called 2 Dots and a Dash — or something like that. It was under their Tiki menu and it was fabulous! All fresh ingredients and in the coolest Tiki cup, see photos. They also have some classic cocktails on the menu but you’re at the beach so the tiki drinks make sense to me! Right next to V Pizza, they share the space so lots of yummy food options to snack on. You can order at the bar or your table and they’ll bring the food to you so you don’t even have to walk away from your delicious cocktail! Best part for me is the prices, most drinks were $ 7 — $ 8 which is a bargain for the fresh quality ingredients.

Great new spot in Jacksonville Beach! They have amazing, creative cocktails and not at a premium price. The décor is beautiful, with distressed wood everywhere. You can order food from V Pizza(delicious) next door in the shared space. Overall, I was very impressed with the experience and the drink quality will definitely keep me coming back!
