I just had a wonderful culinary experience here. Great food, wine and dessert. Top notch service and really good selection for a vegetarian. Everything was extremely flavorful and high quality. If you want a great meal in Jacksonville Beach this place is an absolute must. I’ll be talking about it for weeks.

First date night in too long and couldn’t have been more impressed. Everything from the aps to the entrees and even the cocktails were just fantastic. The steaks are all cut in house. Highly recommend for a nice evening out.

Great restaurant for romantic dinner for two. We were fortunate to be seated in one of their L-shaped booths. The ambience and atmosphere at Eleven South is 5*; the service provided by our server Vincent was 5*; the food is 3.5*. I would definitely return for the overall pleasant experience. Enjoyed the beet salad(both yellow and red beets), which also includes pistachio nuts, bibb lettuce and an interesting goat cheese called Purple Haze. I should mention that I asked for the dressing on the side, and I’m not sure whether I would have liked it better or worse if they had dressed the salad. Was a little disappointed with the baby carrots side order. I ordered it because I love to eat healthy and wish they would have used much less salt and skipped or used much less butter and olive oil. Also, the carrots were slightly crunchy; I would have enjoyed them better if they were cooked an extra minute or two. Enjoyed a cheese plate of 5 cheeses with grapes, almonds, honeycomb, fig jelly and chipotle jelly. Everything on the plate was tasty; nothing was spectacular. I’m spoiled because the cheese plate I had a few nights ago at Moxie was spectacular. Why was the Moxie honeycomb ridiculously sweet and flavorful and Eleven South’s honeycomb not? The cheese plate also comes with two types of crackers that I can’t comment on because I chose not to have them. Enjoyed the raspberry sorbet for dessert and a glass of Mondavi white dessert wine.

This restaurant was AMAZING! I had the lobster and shrimp. It was cooked to perfection. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice upscale restaurant. I will definitely be back!

It was my birthday so my husband requested a nice spot when he made the reservation on open table and it was very nice to see they read his request… our booth was very romantic with lounging pillows. We had never been to 11 South before(we are from out of state) so we didn’t know what to expect though the reviews seemed excellent. We were greeted with a glass of birthday champagne by a very lovely young man, our waitor Derek, who couldn’t have been more charming and appropriately attentive. We were pleasantly surprised to see one of our favorite red zinfandels on the wine list, Old Ghost… if you haven’t tried it, treat yourself! We started with oysters Rockefeller and they were done perfectly… no breading! We split a wedge salad that had the perfect amount of yummy blue cheese dressing. For our entrees, my husband got the fish on special, which was a very tasty hogsnapper, which neither of us had ever had, and it was delicious. I ordered the filet and lobster tail… it was simply scrumptious and the filet was done perfectly! 11 South is most definitely a place to put on our #mustreturn! Thank you for a lovely experience!

We had an AMAZING dinner at Eleven South. High quality, fresh ingredients, delicious cocktails, amazing wine list, 5 star service, 5 star dining. Valet parking. I had the black grouper special w grilled veggies(to die for!); others had swordfish special, scallop entrée and black grouper w risotto — everyone LOVED their dishes! Can’t wait to go back! Thanks Bri, for an amazing evening!

2.5 Stars. Bottom line; the prices they charge, do NOT live up to the quality of food you expect. Been to the bar twice now, the draft beer is not cold. Not a fan of warm beer. Second visit, we stayed for dinner. I was expecting greatness and was totally let down. I started with the wedge salad. A wedge of lettuce with 2 grape tomatoes and a few bacon bits. The dressing was a thick mayonnaise like substance with a funny taste. For my dinner, I had the pork chop with whipped potatoes. The pork chop was really gamey tasting and dry. The whipped potatoes also had a funny taste, not the buttery delicious goodness I am use too. Not sure if it was mustard seeds that caused the tasted, but the seeds or whatever they were, did not taste good. The veggie was brussels sprouts, they had a fishy taste to them. My dinner was a total bomb and I could not finish it. My wife enjoyed her salmon, but the risotto was a bit too rich. Our friend had the chicken and enjoyed it. We also order the special, sun fish with asian noodles, it was really good. For the high prices this place charges, the food should be incredible. The flavors were a miss, and a bit rich at times. Maybe some over thinking going on with the flavors… Definitely a let down for me.

Came here to try out their cheese plate and some wine. I definitely will be back for a whole dinner! My husband and I chose 3 cheeses, and some additions to our plate like apples, local honey comb, and fig jam. I LOVE that you can make your own plate. The brie is okay, my favorite is the white cheddar! I love the feel of the restaurant, great place for a date. Service was fast and friendly. We actually had 3 different servers come to our table to offer us drinks and what not. Valet us complimentary and they have open table(app that allows you to add yourself onto their waiting list from home or wherever you are at)! Awesome, awesome! Can’t wait to come back.

We went to celebrate my boyfriend’s mom birthday and everything was absolutely amazing. From small dishes to cocktails to entrées. Everything tasted amazing! The place is a bit small but they have an outside patio/garden with lighting it was very nice. Will definitely return again.

We love Eleven South! It’s close to our house when we’re at the beach. Valet parking is convenient and a nice touch to get your evening off on the right foot. Once inside, there’s a great bar area serving up terrific drinks including an amazing Margarita! It’s a good place to get things started and chat it up with other bar patrons and do a little people watching. Upon checking in with the hostess stand, we were politely greeted and taken outside to the patio area and shown our table. The temperature cooled off just enough so this was a great option for the night. It was our anniversary and I was delighted to have our waiter inform me my brother called ahead to buy a few rounds of drinks for us. Wifey ordered her usual Vodka w/lemonade, I ordered a bottle of Caymus for myself and shared it with our friends. For dinner wifey ordered scallops and ravioli, delicious! Our friends ordered Petit filet Mignon and locally caught Grouper. I had the NY Strip steak with a Caesar salad. Everything cooked to perfection and delicious! For dessert we tried the Vanilla Crème Brulee and the Tortuga bread pudding. Desserts were delicious and accompanied by a little courvoisier…

Excellent restaurant with very good service. The building is kind of small but nicely arranged. We expected teeny tiny portions(since it’s a bistro) and were pleasantly surprised by a delicious large salad and, not to mention, giant portion of truffle fries. The only thing that was a bit of a downside to the experience was two big mouth boys who were speaking to each other so loud(and right in my ear) you’d think they were a mile away from each other and not a few inches. Had to move twice to get away from them. Everything else was top notch.

A couple of friends and I tried Eleven South for dinner recently. With a location close to the beach, great reviews, and a fine dining ambiance, I expected a great meal. To start, I was a little put off by the lack of table bread. When our waiter asked if we wanted«bread service», we said yes. But, if I hadn’t known about, and already intended to order, the focaccia bread service($ 4), I would’ve been a little surprised by the charge on the bill as he certainly didn’t mention that it wasn’t complimentary. Our waiter pulled out a cheat sheet to read the daily specials, which was fine but I think I was just expecting more refinement there. I, and one of my friends, opted for one of the specials — duck in a peppercorn sauce with potatoes and haricot vert. Another friend ordered the scallops with porcini mushroom stuffed ravioli. The focaccia bread alone was very good and the olive tapenade, herb butter, olive oil, and marinated peppers for added flavor was an excellent start. Our entrees came out in good time and the presentations were nice. But, after taking one bite of the duck, I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat it. The peppercorn sauce was ridiculously salty, making it all inedible. Both of us had to send it back. The situation was handled well. We got raspberry sorbet to cleanse our palates and the manager came over to apologize. We both ordered the grouper instead, which had a tomato jam, orzo pasta with corn, pesto sauce, and spinach. The fish was well cooked but not seasoned at all, making all of the added flavors on the place a necessity. For dessert, I got the coffee and doughnuts, which included mini beignets and espresso panna cotta. I’m not a coffee drinker but this was pretty tasty, sans the large coffee beans. The apple tart was good as well. Perhaps our experience was unusual. Every restaurant has an off night here or there but consistency is important in the restaurant business. I may try this place again and give it another go.

Best meal I’ve had in Jax! Yes, it’s a little pricey, but not over the top. It’s where you go for a nice romantic, celebratory, or just because-you-are-feeling-fancy dinner. You can tell by the quality of the food that the chef takes time and puts thought into crafting an excellent menu! We ordered only from the appetizer menu and the portions were really great! One appetizer for yourself & sharing another with the table is enough for a meal! One down side– the courtyard is a little warm. I’m sure it’ll be 100% pleasant as it cools down outside.

Holy moly, holy moly. What an awesome night at Jax Beach. It was Friday night and a group of us decided to come here on a whim. Another fine dining experience. This place is located on Eleven Avenue South, hence the name. It can be really easy to miss as it’s not visible from A1A and behind a Veterinarian’s office. They offer complementary valet but I’m not a big fan of having some stranger park my car, so I parked on the street in a designated spot and walked over. The outside doesn’t compare to the inside at all. The place was full of people but thankfully we had reservations for a table near the kitchen in a gorgeous booth… with pillows! I felt like I was in a desert oasis. The table setting was exquisite with fresh yellow lilies and a candle. A friend and I got martinis called the Sunrise: Ketel One Citroen Vodka, Peach schnapps, champagne, pineapple juice, orange juice and grenadine. How awesome does that sound? Tastes great. While deciding over the menu, we were offered bread service with butter. The bread was freshly baked and the butter tasted freshly churned hahaha. We all detected some kinda of herbs mixed in with the butter that gave it an extra boost. There were 4 of us dining so we decided to get a bunch of apps, a couple of entrees, and a couple of desserts to split amongst us and our server Johnny(who was amazing) was cool with that. We first started off with the Mixed Cheese Plate that had Manchego and d’Affinois Double Crème aka Brie but the plate also had grapes, local honey, apples, crostinis, and lavash crisps. Everyone drooled over the honey. That must’ve been the purest tasting honey I’ve ever tried. Both cheeses were excellent quality. Next we ordered the rest of our apps and entrees consisting of Lobster Mac N Cheese, Grilled Octopus, Seafood Paella, and the Specials of the day of 4 Stone Crab Claws and the Wagyu Steak. I know, a lot of food but we had a feeling that it was going to be pretty epic. The lobster mac n cheese was phenomenal. I’ve never tasted anything like it. It was so rice and creamy with other herbs and spices. The grilled octopus was like high-quality calamari. The sauce on it was similar to a pesto with basil and cilantro in it and that was delicious. The seafood paella was bomb. The chorizo and shrimp were so flavorful with each bite. I could have eaten that all by myself. As for the specials, we each got a stone crab claw which tasted just like it came out of the sea. Excellent. The entrée of the steak I think was the winning entrée of the night. Dang that was the best steak I’ve ever had as it just melts in your mouth. It was also served with roasted potatoes and dried blueberries. Who does that? For dessert, we again split the Triple Chocolate Pot de Crème and the Coffee and Doughnuts. The Pot De Crème had copious amounts of chocolate and served with a biscotti. We all agreed it was good. The Doughnuts are more like mini beignets but also awesome. The espresso panna cotta really stood out in this dish. I love coffee. There were also little espresso chocolate balls *heeheehee* on top of the panna cotta. Our server told us about the patio parties that they have once a month so I may need to check them out. All in all, this place is a must try for everyone.

Plan to valet here. Parking is really limited. We had a nice private room for a work event which was comfortable and cozy. I really enjoyed their french onion soup and Duck Breast entrée. The flavor was great and it included some delicious roasted bok choy. We topped it off with some«coffee and doughnuts». This desert included beignets and chocolate covered roasted coffee beans. We all enjoyed this desesert to top off our dinner.

Heading down to Jacksonville to see a friend of mine and to celebrate his birthday, I figured I’d find a place that served seafood and provided a touch of elegance. Eleven South very much encompassed that. My friend and I started out with the tuna and avocado tartare, the jumbo lump crab cakes, the crispy oysters, and the classic escargot. My favorites were the jumbo lump crab cakes and the tuna and avocado tartare. The jumbo lump crab cakes had large lumps of delicious crab meat that had great flavor and went very well with the arugula salad and the citrusy sauce that came with it. The tartare was better than most basic tuna tartare, the large cubes of tuna and the creamy aoli with the avocado made for a great dish. The crispy oysters were good but the marmalade was too sweet. It was the first time I’d ever had the escargot. The texture wasn’t too bad, but the tarragon overpowered the dish and the parmesano reggiano was almost non existent. My friend and I both went with the grilled faroe island salmon. The fish was cooked perfectly and was quite delicious. The sauteed kale was tender and went well with the salmon, gigante beans and roasted roma emulsion. The lemon ricotta tartlet seemed a bit out of place and didn’t necessarily go with everything else on the plate, but it was good. Overall I was very pleased with my first meal while down in Jacksonville. I’m not much into the white linen table cloth atmosphere and some of the menu was more of the«usual» crowd pleasers that lack some creativity, but other items were inventive and quite good.

This place is a 3 fork establishment, but not overly hoity toidy. They did have the football game on in the bar area. Our server Regina was outstanding, very attentive to every detail. The meal was amazing, we ordered strictly from the featured specials. Starting with the oysters Rockefeller, what a perfect bite of yumminess! I ordered the hog snapper over a bed of pesto tossed pasta with grape tomatoes and broccolini. This dish was a flavor explosion. Honey had the steak of course, it was cooked to perfection(thank you chef Lee Weeks) over Parmesan potato gnocchi with oyster mushrooms. Bread pudding and chocolate pots de creame(mousse). We are rolling our fat behinds home tonight!
