Have had a few waffles this year that weren’t bad and today we went to the Father’s Day special T-Bone steak special, and the steaks were surprisingly good, but the potatoes were awful and they failed to have the banana cream pie that was in their ad and supposed to be the dessert included. They still have a lot of work to do to get back up to the excellent standard they once set. Also, the manager who I think runs a fairly tight ship was not there today. On the other hand, there was a lot of extra staff, and they had to move very large numbers of people which they were doing fairly well. We used to go there frequently and just wish they could really get it together consistently as we miss going as much as we used to do.

Loved this chain of restaurant. Been going to the manteca location since highschool, first time here and I’m very disappointed. The waiting staff was great but the food was very spotty. I ordered my usual country fried steak and it was only OK, my son had a stack of pancakes with eggs, very delicious, hard to mess that up. My food wasn’t hotthough, just warm, like it’s been sitting for a while. My wife ordered the chicken and waffles, specifically asking for the chicken to be «well done». Our food came and it looked good, but one bite into her fried chicken and it was pink in the center. Gave them a chance and put that piece aside and tried another, it was literally frozen inside. That screams lazy, short cut and incompetent. We ordered her replacement and it was perfect luckily,(she ordered the country fried steak and eggs like I did). Finally, when we received the bill, extra .75 $ per order because we had eggs in our dishes, they said it’s because they have a short. supply. Didn’t even bother making a complaint to the management, it won’t make a difference to our experience any way. This is a much more useful tool to use so I can at least help other people thinking of going here. Never coming here again. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvveeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

We have eaten here dozens of time over the years even with all the different owners. Today was the worse, neither of us even finished it! The hash browns tasted nothing short of the grease they cooked it in, the corn beef hash was nothing but a, for lack of a better word, gross taste of moosh! To top it off, we were charged a surcharge for eggs with the reason being told to us,“because of the recent deaths of thousand of chickens from diseases and their prices going up”!!! REALLY!!!

My friends, son and I were traveling through Jackson on our way home from a camping trip last weekend and we stopped here for breakfast. I’m giving this place 2 stars. I ordered the Jackson omelet with country potatoes and biscuit and gravy. The potatoes were cooked wonderfully. The omelet was almost cold like it had been sitting out for awhile. The gravy on the biscuits was also almost cold and tasted like someone dumped too much black pepper in it. It was so peppery that I couldn’t eat it. That was especially disappointing because that’s what I wanted the most– biscuits and gravy. I also ordered coffee and water. We’re got the water but the waiter said all the cups were dirty so I had to wait for my coffee. I waited about 10 minutes and asked again about my coffee. I had to wait and additional 10 mins until my coffee arrived. My son ordered orange juice and chocolate chip pancakes. Both were great. My friend ordered the chicken skillet. First of all— it did not come on a skillet. It was a regular plate with lots of potatoes some chicken and an egg on top. He complained of the dish being incredibly dry because it didn’t come with any kind of sauce or gravy. The women’s bathroom was dirty and one stall was broken. My friend said the men’s room wasn’t great either. Our waitress was nice. I don’t think we’ll go back.

We’ve had breakfast there on several occasions, the breakfast was very good nice sized portions. The staff very friendly and prompt. the only issue we had was the place needs a good cleaning! The seats were sticky as were the tables. there’s a layer of oily residue on everything in there.

Ordered a new york steak sandwich(one of the so called specials) It was SOOOO tough it was like shoe leather. Took a couple of bites and could not eat it. Not to mention we wanted the steak to be medium instead it was well done. we complained to the waitress and they took a whopping 1 dollar and 88 cents off a 20 dollar meal. .Also the bathrooms were filthy. I would not recommend this restraunt to my worst enemy

Breakfast this morning and minimal phone service so posting now. Stopped in after seeing little in the way of options. Busy place, though good service and seated quickly. Ordered the Waffle Shop Omelet w/country potatoes and toast. Coffee was perfect, cup kept filled. Omelet was rather awesome… bursting with ham, sausage, and linguesa(sp?) As far as the potatoes go, I’ve not had them like this. Soooo much better then hash browns. The next time I find my self in the area, here I will stop!

We brought 11 people in with no notice and they immediately got the tables together and seated us. Three servers made sure we had enough coffee and water the whole time. They had NOPROBLEM giving us separate checks, which is never a guarantee. And to top it all off the food was DELICIOUS. Final review: would definitely come back when in the area.

Ate breakfast here today and the service was terrible. It seemed to be the most disorganized restaurant I’ve ever been in. It took over an hour to be waited on and served our food.

Light fluffy waffles, if cotton candy could be a waffle they would taste like the ones at the Waffle Shop. Definitely worth a visit.

I had the Mediterranean omelet. It was fluffy and a perfect balance of feta, spinach and sautéed onions. Hash brown was nice and crunchy. Biscuits and gravy were OK. Too much gravy. Next time I would order gravy on the side. My friend had the waffle combo and thought the waffle was excellent. High marks on the hash brown too. Service was slow and inattentive but it was around 2pm and looked like they were under staffed. Next time I’m in the neighborhood I’ll definitely come back.

Five stars for a great Belgian style waffle, good attentive service, and a friendly staff. Service was quick, food came out in a timely manner, and the waitress helped by pointing out a better combo on the menu. all in all, for Breakfast, i’ll be Back.

I should have known all bets were off when I started the New Year by accidentally calling my coworker to ask if «his» restaurant was open that day. He paused, jokingly said, «Come on down!», then hung up after I thanked him. Something compelled me to look at the number I had just dialed; having no clue how I could have mistakenly called my coworker, I went back to square one and dialed the actual Waffle Shop. Upon asking my original question, I heard a giggle(as if to say, «Silly girl!»), followed by, «We’re closed one day a year, and that’s Christmas Day! See you in a bit.» I grabbed my purse and my deflated ego, and off we went. I imagined kicking off 2011 with a protein-packed healthy breakfast; egg white omelets with a side of fruit and coffee with Splenda came to mind. An hour later, I was knee-deep in a 3 Eggs with Chicken Fried Steak platter. FML. I couldn’t help myself. Our server, Laurie, was wearing bacon and egg earrings, for crying out loud. Bacon and eggs! The power of suggestion was overwhelming. As was the quick, attentive service and gargantuan portions. One free hot chocolate refill? Better not forget the whipped cream on that sucka. Great way to start the new year. In case you’re wondering, the diet began two days later. Scout’s honor!

What can I say, great hangover food. They have a very large menu and serve huge portions. For some reason we always end up with the same gentleman as our server who is very attentive and the rest of the staff seem kind as well. I

On your way to Kirkwood? Need some breakfast? Well, I’ve got just the right place for you! The Waffle House! To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect when we drove up to this place but it is definitely a unpolished gem in the middle of a bunch of rocks. The breakfast here is amazing especially their waffles, which they’ve won countless awards for. They even make Bacon Waffles for you bacon lovers, that consists of bacon on top with bacon in the middle of the waffles, it sounds pretty nasty but it’s actually quite good. The décor is very run of the mill,(What can you expect your in the middle of nowhere), but the service here was great! Our waitress was funny, friendly, and very helpful. Eventhough, this is about a 5 minute detour, from the 88, I’ll be making this my stop for breakfast on my way up to Kirkwood.
