In my humble opinion, Surf Taco in Jackson is a great place for an quick, informal lunch. They have really good, Mexican/beach style food combined with a nice selection of on-tap, craft beers. The atmosphere is informal and the servers are nice(and cute!).

Food is always great. AC was broke last time I was there so I took away a star. Have that shit checked before the season starts…

The«hot» food alway comes out cold. Cold greasy tacos, yum. So be prepared to send it back to the kitchen for heat, who’d of thunk? Beer is good variety but expensive, it gets kind of old after a while paying a full six pack price for 1 beer. Very noisy, especially if the game is on, like have to scream at the person sitting next to you noisy. Bartenders enjoy talking to their friends more than serving you it seems. When I actually had to get up from the bar, walk across the dining room and tap her on the shoulder to beg for another drink that was the end for me.

Loved the table service and how there was a bar. Has a margarita and dos a combo 2 with a surf taco and grilled garlic shrimp. It was chill and good music like the other locations. Food is always good and fresh ! That’s what keeps me coming back. Wish the other locations had bars !!!

Walked into this location expecting the friendly staff I am used to from other locations. Was greeted by some snotty high schoolers staring down their nose at me. Girl who took our order at the counter was obviously uninterested in our order, as my girlfriend was deciding her order, she gave her a nasty stare. I asked for no pico on my orders, and only one came without. When I handed it back and asked for no pico, the girl came back out a minute later with the same tacos, with the pico OBVIOUSLYSCRAPEDOFF! I’m not allergic, but if I was that would have been a big issue. Will not be returning to this location. Very disappointed. If I could give no stars, I would.

A nice island themed mexican restaurant serving contemporary mexican and spanish food. Tacos, burritos and nachos mixed with classic fish dishes are some specialties. A full bar and night time entertainment round out the place.

Surf Taco is one of my all-time favorite locations. This particular location is the one with a full bar as well which takes this experience to the next level. Great to bring a group of friends and hangout too. My go-to is the Buffalo Soldier which never disappoints. Their tacos are fabulous as well. Homemade salsa to go along with chips is always a must. I’m a huge beer fan so they had me already with the variety of beers on tap.

I really do like the cali wrap and aloha wrap. However that is where my like stops. I am not a fan of all the chips. Maybe another side choice like beans or a little salad would be nice at no additional cost. Also the noise. This is a very noisy place, don’t come if you are stressed or have a headache. And if you are a wine drinker and need a glass, please know that there is only 1 sub-par brand of red. A little sad, that.

Again, surf taco is probably one of the most overrated shore restaurants. The one positive is that it has a bar to drown away the average food. The fact that you can get as much salsa as you like is cool but salsas lack flavor. Not my favorite place to get tacos/burritos dts.

It saddens me to rate this so low, as I usually love Surf Taco! We recently moved into the area and this location is a short 5 minute drive away, so we have been frequenting it quite often(usually for take out). Eating in, the food is average, but I don’t know that we’ll bother taking food out any more as the food is often poorly made and the past couple times we’ve ordered out there have been a few errors in the order. Perhaps this is because they have bar service to also worry about? Either way, not the biggest fan of this location. The service can also be hit or miss — sometimes nice and friendly, other times cold and stand-offish.

Good margaritas. Terrible tacos. We ordered a mahi Taco Baja style, teriyaki chicken taco and a beef Taco. We also had buffalo tenders and some other fried app. The tacos were bland as could be. The ground beef in the taco looked gray, totally unappetizing. I’m not exactly sure what the Baja style was but I thought it would be spicy.

The only Surf Taco location you can grab a beer or margarita. Not as cool inside as the other locations, but the food is still great.

Great food in a great location. Awesome salsa. Very good fish tacos. Good nachos. Good ambiance on the bar side. But slow waitress service for drinks on some nights. Trivia night Monday; open mic Wednesday.

Stopped by again last night around 6pm. The service was great, both at the counter and the bar. The food came out quickly — -however; the darn Maverick was rolled wrong again. The first two bites were strictly cheese. The next few bites were of lettuce, then rice. The last few bites contained the beans and chicken. They were out of Coors Light bottles so had to get a Corona. My wife ordered a white sangria, which she said was very good. Overall a great place. Just need to learn to roll a burrito so the ingredients are evenly enjoyed.

My visit was long overdue: Surf Taco has been on my «to eat» list for quite some time. After a morning at the outlets, I stopped by here for lunch(note: not close to the outlets at all. Oh well.). I got the two taco special(it comes with rice and beans and chips for $ 8.99. Upcharge for fish). I went with the Surf Taco(fried cod) and the Teriyaki Chicken Taco. I wasn’t really a fan of the Teriyaki Chicken Taco — I found the chicken somewhat flavorless, though the pineapple was nice. The Surf Taco, by contrast, was much better — light, flaky fish. As a craft beer aficionado, I was most pleased with the beer list as local breweries are well represented(these include Carton, Flying Fish, Neshaminy Creek, Troegs and Dogfish Head — yes, they’re still local — to name a few). If you’re in the area, definitely check it out. There are nine other locations in NJ, but this is the only one with a bar :)

I’ve never had a bad meal at any Surf Taco location. Prices are reasonable, food is tasty, & this location serves liquor, which can be good company with some tacos & burritos. Staff are always friendly & pretty quick with your order. They also have 4 varieties of salsa for your tortilla chips, from mild to aye carumba! I always recommend a visit to anyone, especially out-of-towners.
