Jenny Lake Lodge Dining Room

Like has been previously stated in other reviews, simply the best breakfast I have ever had in my 26 years. Corned buffalo (not beef) hash with eggs and hollandaise, I think it was… Absolutely fantastic as well as the other items brought (bagel lox, fresh berries with crème fraîche, and more). Mind you, I had this meal 2 years ago and I’m thinking about it again right now.

A Diamond in the Rough
Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles, Jenny Lake Lodge appeared like a warm culinary oasis in the wilderness.
That’s an elk shaped napkin holder, moose shaped butter, mixed berries with crème fraîche (yes!), and sparkling wine.
Lemon cured smoked salmon, crispy shellfish Benedict, house corned buffalo hash, and browned butter pecan sticky bun. Thank you, Chef Clark Myers. Thoroughly enjoyable and very nearly perfect, but at $ 26 prix fixe, a phenomenal value.

Two friends and I were excited to head to Jenny Lake Lodge for a recent Sunday brunch. We know the beautiful setting of the lodge and decided to road bike from Jackson (about 50 miles round trip) for a great halfway stop. However, we were sorely disappointed at the service we received when we arrived– I would certainly NOT recommend the lodge after our experience.
We called a few days in advance and made a reservation for 1:30. The person who took our reservation assured us that we likely didn’t even need a reservation though it might be helpful to have one. We were flexible as to timing and just needed enough time to bike there, and he assured us that 1:30 was a great time (and we asked if we’d still be able to have brunch). However, when we arrived 12 minutes late, we were rudely scolded for being «very, very late» by the host and were told the kitchen was closed and that we would be unable to eat. They were unable to answer me when I asked how there could be a reservation scheduled for the exact minute when the kitchen closes? How could anyone order in time? That obviously makes no sense to me, and it should not have made sense to the managers at the Jenny Lake Lodge. There was no effort to call us once a manager noticed the ill-​timed reservation, and we therefore planned a 50-​mile bike ride around our meal. Now, having worked in numerous restaurants myself, I do understand that the kitchen does shift over to dinner prep at a certain time, but given that the mistake was the fault of the restaurant in making a reservation at the wrong time, we felt as though they could have – and should have – been accommodating to us. There will still people seated in the dining room who had not yet received their food. We pressed them to ask the kitchen and were told we could maybe be offered some granola… not what we’d had in mind, especially after road biking 25 miles while looking forward to eggs benedict.
We are three Jackson locals who will definitely not be patronizing Jenny Lake Lodge again, nor will any of our friends after this experience. What a disappointing ending to what was otherwise a lovely Jackson summer day.

Fantastic food. Unlike anything else you’d get in a national park.
Scallop and lamb appetizers were great. Turnip soup was good, as was the signature beer and cheese soup. Korean BBQ tri tip was amazing.
For breakfast, the single best waffle known to mankind!!! Seriously. They crystallize real maple syrup and add it to the batter!
Like any high end restaurant, portions are not large, but breakfast is price fixe and you can keep ordering. Very good.
Seeing deer as we walked from our cabin to the restaurant daily was a nice treat. Meat MUST be fresh.

Our best dining experience in Yellowstone area! We had trout and chicken entrees for lunch, both were tender, so delicious and not expensive. The dining place are quite with beautiful decorations. The service is fast and friendly. Reservation is required.

The Jenny Lake Lodge is fantastic in many respects, and due to the price, we had pretty high expectations going in.
The location is unbeatable, the views are memorable, and the cabins are comfortable. The food was fantastic, though the service was the one big disappointment that we experienced. It took three requests and 25 minutes simply to get a glass of wine while waiting for dinner. (Although we had a reservation, no tables were available, so we had to wait for the next table.) We were told that the table was being cleaned. We shouldn’t have turned our backs, because the table was given to another couple that arrived after us. The hostess said that they had to give priority to lodging guests (which we WERE!). The hospitality staff was flustered and disorganized. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but it was our first impression, and the experience started the stay off on a sour note.
To set your expectations appropriately, I would expect outstanding location, great views, inexperienced and disorganized hospitality staff, basic but comfortable cabins, and fantastic food. At least that was our experience. We’d probably still stay there again, but would lower our expectations a bit.

We enjoy going to any of the Lodge dining rooms while visiting the park especially this one. The food is superb and the service always goes beyond as the young people in these positions are so pleasant and eager to be friendly. The menu is varied and you should be able to find a likable dish anytime you visit. Take time to sit and enjoy the fire if you visit when the weather is cool. The ambiance is remarkable.

Went with friends for dinner and was told a training ground for the Culinary Institute. Menu changes daily. Entrée includes salad, soup and dessert. I had potato Augratin. Think fingerling potato peeled and cut into 2 pieces resembling large scallops. The salads were a «normal» spring mix wirh craisins, nuts and champange vinegrette or breaded deep fried avocado with arugula and oranges. The soup choices were a creamy garlic (yum) or creamed asparagus. For dinner I had the special– hand rubbed pork that was very good.
Portions were on the small side but the dishes were wonderfully prepared, beautifully plated and the service was spectacular.
If you are a foodie you need to go here for dinner.

Best breakfast I’ve ever had! Unique menu with all you can eat for $ 24, everything made fresh to order for you, not old on a buffet line. Each item I ordered was tasty and beautifully prepared. Generous serving of lox and bagel with capers and onions and cream cheese, amazing crab cake benedict that I’ll never forget: real crab, not the usual doughy glop that tastes like seafood flavored soggy breadcrumbs; eggs poached just right: thin lemony hollandaise, not the thick tasteless paste that pretends to be hollandaise in many restaurants. I was seated by a window with a perfect view of the Tetons and waited on with grace and attentiveness. Excellent coffee. Fresh fruit for starters. Can’t imagine better. If you come to the Jackson area, be sure to have a meal at the Jenny Lake Lodge.

I left Yellowstone early one morning and stopped at Jenny Lake Lodge for breakfast. I was shown to a table after a short wait during which I enjoyed the warmth of the wood-​burning fireplace.
The atmosphere in the lodge is great — comfortable, old Western feelings. The breakfast is fixed-​price — $ 23 for all you can eat of anything/​everything on the extensive menu.
I didn’t eat everything but what I had was very nicely prepared — really, better than in most restaurants in Seattle — and nicely presented. The wait staff were welcoming, attentive, and helpful.
And the setting is breathtaking — really! — even though I wasn’t at a window table. That, combined with good food, makes a fine way to start the day.

We stopped here for lunch without reservations, but were shown to a table right away. The atmosphere is «elegant mountain lodge» with stunning views of the Grand Tetons. Service was superb. The butter for the good bread came in little moose shaped pats. My husband had a very tasty mushroom soup while I had an excellent salad. We both selected the trout for our entrée, and were not disappointed. It was very simply prepared, and was served with a perfect polenta, grilled tomatoes, and crispy spinach leaves. The entire meal was delightful, and the setting was to die for — so beautiful.

Unparalleled atmosphere and setting (award winning hotel), delicious menu items (albeit limited selection), good value, reservations required. A must for any foodies visiting the Tetons.
