Went out for a quick dinner with my wife to this diner and was very pleasantly surprised. I honestly didn’t expect anything more than a typical diner for senior citizens(no offense old people). What we found was a diner that reminded of the awesome San Francisco chain Mel’s Diner. Totally had the classic all American diner feel. My wife had a chicken quesadilla which was huge and I had the Pop’s special — country fried steak in sausage gravy. Was blown away out how good the gravy was and how crispy the steak came out. This was something that could easily be served in the South and yet here I was in my own backyard. Highly recommend this diner!

Since they’ve opened I’ve eaten at the Jackson Diner quite a few times with my mom, and other family members. They’re not far from my parents home. Today I came alone. I was overdue for a much needed diner food /comfort food morning in my life. And you can’t go wrong with this place! I really enjoyed my Coffee, Medium Scrambled Eggs wth American cheese, Bacon, Home Fries & Wheat Toast. I actually brought a book, but I never looked at it. They have a TV and I of course had my phone… but with all the Old fashioned Diner décor, old time signs, wall murals and memorabilia all around, by the time I looked around, my food had arrived. Now that’s excellent service! Once again thanks for a tasty breakfast. See you again soon!

Definitely my favorite diner! 50s theme is cute and it reminds me of a NY eatery. Great menu and lots of choices! There are so many good omelets on the menu and portions are large! Great coffee and excellent service too. Be prepared to wait for a table on the weekend — it’s worth it!

Friendly local diner… Food is always good service to match. Standard Jersey diner menu, not many good diners worth… This diner is worth the trip.

Don’t look for a diner type building you wont find it. The diner is in a strip mall which makes the experience that much cooler. Upon entering the diner the décor is 50s like. Small dining room thank goodness the counter had seats. My wife ordered the reuben sandwich which comes with fries and I ordered the roast beef wrap with swiss. The reuben was fantastic with the kraut(had a bite or two) and the fries werent overcooked just right. The roast beef was medium rare and delicious. Fries also came with the wrap. Also had a bowl of split pea soup which I might say was also great. For dessert I shared a rice pudding and cup of coffee with my wife. Very good rice pudding and coffee tasted fresh. Our waitress Sarah was attentive to our needs and gave great service. Overall my experience at the Jackson Diner was excellent. It was hands down the best diner food I ever had and I hail from North Jersey Bergen County where diners are a dime a dozen.

Just ate at the Jackson Diner for the first time and I was very impressed. The service and ambience was excellent and my food was outstanding. I had the split pea soup for an appetizer and then the turkey dinner with stuffing and mashed potatoes with corn. It was very good. I will definitely be returning to try other things.

I think the Diner is a spectacular restaurant. It’s absouletly clean inside there. It smells delicious inside there too. They have multiple options of what to eat. It doesn’t cost a lot of money either. If you have a lot of people with you, their food will fill everyone up. If they’re really hungry their desert menu is outstanding. Something I don’t like is how long the food comes. If you can’t eat meat you can get fish or filet –o– fish there. The’re chicken tenders are remarcable! I always get chicken tenders when I go there because it always fils me up when I’m hungry. There desert menu options are unibelivable. You can literally get chocolate on ice cream for 5 $. Wow! You can also get ice cream with frosting on it. I recommed you should try the Diner!

They close too early and the food is nothing special. The overall attitude of some staff is not too friendly. Find another diner

One of my daughter’s favorite diners but my last two visits we were very disappointed. First of all, the condition of the bathroom is horrible! This causes me concern about the kitchen area. I was always told if you want to know how clean a restaurant is, just look at the bathrooms. Second I got my food after waiting 25 mins for it and was greeted by a long brown hair on top of the pancakes.

Remember this is just a diner so i would prob rate it 3.5 stars. Food was fresh and tasted better than some diner fare you get in nj. Service was good as well so thats why i gave them the 4 stars. Come here if you are hungry and want good food at a good price.

The food is ok and the décor is typical… I deduct a star for the Joel Osteen that constantly plays on the tv. I’ve had my fill of evangelical christianity, thank you.

Always packed but food and service was not great. Been there only a few occasions. Less than average for NJ diner food.

I recently moved to Jackson, NJ from RI and am SOOOOO glad I found this place. It is my go to restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their breakfasts are sooo good and soooo filling, that’s the only meal I need for the day. Lunch and dinner portions are soooo large it takes me two days to eat it. Things I’ve had that are great: The burgers for sure. So juicy, cooked perfectly; the Salisbury steak(except I had it Priscilla-style — brown gravy with sauteed onions). Mashed potatoes are real, not glue-y, just yummy. The turkey dinner is better than I used to have at my in-laws on Thanksgiving. One of my favorites is the Country fried steak — so bad for me… so good tasting. My friend from the south who came to visit swears the biscuit and sausage gravy reminds him of home. Serious compliment from a southerner. I haven’t tried the desserts, but they look super-delish. I always sit at the counter and have Priscilla as my server. She’s super friendly and always makes me feel welcome(I’m a solo diner). Great spot! Highly recommend!

Food was good. our waitress was excellent. Only thing that kept us from just enjoying our food were all the darn flies! I hope they take care of that problem.

So you’ve got to know what to order here. Look, don’t order anything exotic. We have been here several times and our experiences vary. In our latest visit, we had a mixed bag of good and bad. I ordered a crock of French onion soup and my wife had a side salad she had ordered with Cesar dressing. It was not cesar, and they insisted it was. So they brought her some Bleu cheese instead and that was ok… They used rye bread in the French onion soup. The soup itself is tasty but the rye ruins it for me. My gyro was tasty. My wife’s fish was not fresh. Her sides were fine. My son’s bacon and cheese omlette was acceptable but not outstanding. Desserts were rice pudding and coconut cake, and both were fine. When I related this to the manager/cashier, her response was«I hope it goes better next time…» reallly? You’re THAT confident we’re coming back? Ok then…
