What a wonderful, hidden gem. Took my 4 year old daughter for a pony ride here yesterday and it was the most wonderful experience for the entire family. We got to watch the pony get saddled up & ready for her ride. She got to ride«Tinkerbell» out of the stable and around the parking lot. What I’m having trouble conveying in words is how kind, patient, and caring Black Mountain was with my daughter. It was an incredible experience that we’re all still talking about, something I never thought I would say about a pony ride. This is truly a special place with special people and horses.

Unilocaled a bad review only to find it deleted a couple of days later. If I could I’d give them 0 stars I would

Pretty sure one of the employees wasn’t up for an off-season ride, but she took us out anyways. I think this is best for people who have experience. We told them that we didn’t have any experience with horses, but they didn’t really give us any additional instruction. Horses were really sweet and well behaved. The steep downhill riding was stressful, and my legs were pretty tired, so asked if we could walk the horses down the last third, which was well received. This is probably not for someone who might not be comfortable on a horse, but a once in a lifetime adventure for sure.
