This cart is mad good! I’ve only eaten here once, but I’ve been impressed! I went for a safe choice with lengua cemita and it was delicious. I’ll give this place a fifth star once I go back and try their other options.

You know those post drinking meals you have where you’re woofing down food without a care in the world… well, that was me on the E train home after an eleventh hour stop at QST. It must have been a spectacle… something you only see on TV for the individuals watching me pour the spicy jalepeno sauce on my pollo and carnitas tacos and then shoving them into my facehole. Wrapped in pipping hot foil, marinating in all types of lovely juices, they burned me but it didn’t matter. For one thing, I couldn’t feel much, but more importantly after the first bite I was hooked. Daddy needed his medicine and QST was providing.

I had a beef quesadilla and it was really good. Salty and cheesy and the tortilla part was really tasty. My husband had the pork quesadilla and we agreed we liked the beef better. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood!

Only my second time trying the cart but I went with the chicken torta. Tasty and filled to the max! It was loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, onions, and jalapenos. Have to come back and try the quesadillas! Oi, I can’t keep track of these delicious trucks!

Thanx to my friend spotting this by Chase bank — we got to spend less money than necessary to satisfy our rumbling tummy for quick dinner couple nights ago! I kept it simple and ordered chicken, beef chilly and beef tacos — since it was to go, I wasn’t sure how the ladies garnished the tacos so when I opened the wraps, I was surprised to find there was no cheese present or guacamole even! :(Besides the chicken having any sort of flavor whatsoever, I preferred the beef chilli and beef — tasted good. The hot sauces they pack you, with cilantro and onions thrown in the tacos make a lethal couple bites. & never say never to Jarritos soda — one of Mexico’s finest export!

This cart feels pretty authentic, and let me tell you, the Jalapeños are the very hot, fresh kind that make the sides of the back of your tongue tingle, not the watered down gringo type. If you manage to get them to make you a grilled jalapeño, you’ll be breathing fire, my friend. Good stuff. The cool thing about this truck are the unusual selections(for the NYC taco vendor) such as Tlacoyos(stuffed, torpedo-shaped fried or toasted cakes made of masa — similar to Pupusas), Picaditas(shell of formed corn dough baked and stuffed w/beans, salsa, onions and cheese), and Huaraches(oblong«sandal shaped» fried masa, with a variety of toppings). They also have some interesting Quesadilla ingredients, such as Calabaza(zucchini), Lengua(tongue), Oreja(ears? –I have to check this one out) and Huitlacoche. Huitlacoche is a very earthy tasting truffle-like fungus that grows on corn, and it’s rare to find in restaurants and stands here. I will be trying this version if I can convince the señoritas to make mine on a corn tortilla(I can’t have wheat). Having written this, I realize I was a bit of a p&$$y with my selections, which is unlike me — I went for two $ 2.50 tacos, one Chicken, one Chorizo. I did not find the Chicken to be the best quality of meat(tasted a little gristle-y) but the preparation was good. The Chorizo taco was much better. I will update my rating after I try some of the above selections. You’ll find this truck on Roosevelt Avenue, on the NE corner at 75th Street(between 75th St &76th), right across the sidewalk from a pet store. Have fun watching the puppies while eating your Tacos :-)

If La Quesadilla Sabrosa(The Delicious Quesadilla) isn’t my favorite taco cart in all of Queens, it’s certainly going to be in my top 5. I can always look forward to a good meal here because everything from the meat to the tortillas are outstanding and fresh. And unlike their neighboring mobile taquerias a block away, they are rarely any lines here. Literally parked in front of the Chase Bank just off steps away from Little India, the smell of fresh cooked meats form a small aroma cloud of steam for passerbys and onlookers just looking to get a piece of the taco action. To claim a corner in front of a bank means there are few excuses for people not to have access to some dollar bills. That alone is pure genius on this cart’s part. Speaking of prices, each taco here is the standard Roosevelt /Elmhurst /Corona market price of $ 2.00. There is something about the way they make their carnitas and al pastor meats that make me slobber in anticipation each time. With the sprinkle of some lime, some bits of salsa thrown in the mix, it’s practically the perfect taco. The nice lady who I often see manning the cart has a habit of stuffing the taco to the point where cilantro, onions, and meat take up most of the space on the tortilla. In order for me to be able to hold the taco up, I always have to ask for them to go easy on the cilantro and onions. They have a condiment station with all of the radishes, various salsas, limes, and gaucamole for the ultimate DIY taco customization. While I think their tacos are excellent, some have contended their quesadillas are what they do best here(the name is no coincidence right?). It’s hardly the quesadillas of the chain restaurant or bar food variety, but more like a giant folded over flour tortilla that would otherwise look like an oversized taco with bits of cotija cheese, lechuga, cilantro, lime, and plenty of filling. My favorite is the more expensive option in the huitlacoche(corn smut) at $ 3.50 and the ever simple quesadilla de papas(potatoes). On a whole they’re all quite good, but for some reason the tacos take the cake for me. Then there is the rest of the food. La Quesadilla Sabrosa offers an array of other antojitos from huaraches to tostadas to picaditos. All that I’ve sampled were decent to stellar, though they take considerably longer to prepare. When realizing our harsh winter weather as of late, this is never fun. I guess I just like it cheap and dirty(#1). Their tortas, while fresh and filling, are still a notch below El Gallo Giro( ) and more expensive than Tacos Guicho( ) at $ 5.00 each across the board. Recommended meat fillings would be carnitas and chorizo, which usually tend to go quickest. On a whole, the food is delicious and reasonably priced. Unfortunately this place isn’t 24 hours and is usually only available from the evening to late night. The cart itself is bright and shockingly weather proof(covers /heat warmers). With a clean cart and delicious food, La Quesadilla Sabrosa is a win-win for all taco crawlers in the area. _____________ (#1) *wink* Hi there.
