Pizza Sam

Pizza Sam is a classic NYC pizzeria. It is family run and reminded me of when I was a kid. The pizza is good. It is real pizza. The owner is second generation and he takes pride in what he serves the customers and it shows. Not a fancy place by any means but friendly and the prices are very fair. I am not in Jackson Heights a lot but when I am I will stop by here again. Very memorable.

I have not ever visited New York without stopping at my favorite pizza spot PIZZA SAM’S! There are many pizza places in NY, no doubt… Sam’s is just a slice above the rest. Family owned and operated for well over 30 years. Sam Jr has worked hard to keep the love going strong!!! We love PIZZA SAM’S!!!

This pizza shop has been around for a long time and the quality has never diminished. The pizza recipe has stayed in good hands that has been passed down from generation to generation. When the pizza comes out of the oven nice warm the cheese melts right into your mouth. The pizza slices have a great blend of tomato sauce and cheese and to top it all off the crust is the right amount of thick. It’s not to thick and not to thin. In essence Pizza Sam has been a staple in the community and if your around the neighborhood I definitely recommended it! Also don’t forget to try the sicilian slices there just as good as a regular slice. This is Jackson Heights best little kept secret.

Been coming here for 20 years, best slice in queens. Period. I live a couple miles away now and I still drive out here to get a slice when I’m in the mood.
Ignore some of these idiot reviews and come have a bite. You won’t regret it.

2.5 stars, really. I usually order a Sicilian when I’m depressed and want to stuff myself with carbs. The slice is pretty large, but the cheese isn’t as… pliable and soft? I would ask them to heat it up more if you like melted cheese. Otherwise, the slice is pretty substantial and the sauce is decent. I have also tried the zeppoles when REALLY depressed, and I would skip those unless you are immune to guilt. All in all, not the best pizza, but will likely get the job done.

I’ve only been here once. The people behind the counter weren’t mean, but they weren’t very friendly. Cash only.
I ordered the Alfredo with extra sauce to go. It was around $ 12 — $ 13 which I thought was a bit pricey, but when I got home and saw the portion, I felt that it was definitely worth it. The sauce was very rich; I could only eat a little at a time (but then again, I did ask for extra sauce. Needless to say, I won’t ask for extra next time). They also put in a huge piece of buttered bread and 3 garlic rolls, which I was not expecting.

This place really stinks it says it’s going to give you a 2 L soda but they didn’t I asked them and they made like 100 excuses for that that is Shirley ridiculous how can you put something on your website and then not actually live up to it other than that their food is really good lol lol

Delicious food! Portions are not small for the price and the quality is great. I got hooked on SAMs by my husband and his mom. They’ve ordered for many, many, many years. Love the lasagna!

There are very few good pizza places in my neighborhood since it is predominant Latin Cuisine. But this place is awesome! I have been ordering from here for years and it’s always been very good, it even got better with time. However, on the weekend plan on waiting for a little while for delivery as they get very busy; but it’s worth the wait.
I am a junkie for their garlic knots and imagine how more convenient it is now that I can order through Unilocal instead of calling! Yayyyyy.

I am a huge fan of their Grandma Pizza — spinach and ricotta.
I am not a big fan of them saying they are open on a Sunday when they are not… otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

This place used to be the issh back when the oroginal owners father was alive
Then they sold it to some Aisan dude. Then the son of the orignal store brought it back. The pizza is very bland… No one wears gloves in there. The inside of the place is nice don’t get me wrong. But this place fell off and the pizza taste like paper. Not authentic Pizza

Northeastern Jackson Heights’ neighbourhood family gem for nearly 40 years. A rare & true New York City remaining staple. Maintaining an equally impressive steadfast & unwavering quality after all the decades in business. This is the quintessential, NYC loving slice of heaven. Not for the faint or 99 cent of heart… this is PIZZA like few or none other.
Nay-​sayers aren’t likely native Gothamites in knowing or having lived in the days of what garnered the reputation that is authentic NYC Pizza. They can order from the cartoon box companies.
Everything’s fresh at Sam’s. The dough, cheese & sauce combinations are absolutely perfect. Nothing’s more delicious than their regular plain slice — my favorite. The Grandma varieties will knock your socks off — a fancier, ingredient laden departure from the traditional Sicilian. Delicious and flavourful. Salads are generous. Other specially dishes like chicken parmesan, meatball heroes, calamari, & calzones holds the same in freshness, flavour & quality. The garlic knots are chuck full of flavor & garlic. And they have zeppolis! But they’re a pizza shop and that’s the cornerstone. That’s where it all begins & ends.

Gave them a second chance last night. 60mins to deliver from 6 blocks away. STRIKE ONE
SICILIAN slices are a joke! 70% dough and only enough cheese because I ordered my slices with extra cheese. Sauce? Freak show. How is it bland and bitter at once? Terrible after taste. STRIKE TWO
Garlic bread was fine if you like over cooked minced garlic.
Pepperoni roll? It’s the size of the garlic bread and only $ 5 so I had high hopes. How there can be that little cheese and only about a dozen slices of pepperoni and justify its name and cost, is beyond me. STRIKE THREE
Worse yet, I forgot to check their city grade prior to ordering. They got an A March 10^th of this year, DESPITE evidence of mice.
NEVER AGAIN

If I could give no stars I would. They were two hours late to deliver so I cancelled my order through a seamless rep. Their phone number doesn’t event work and the delivery guy shows up because they have 0 contact with him while he’s out, he doesnt have a cellphone. He had the guts to yell at us when he’s an additional 45mins later than they told seamless they’d be. Needless to say if they don’t respect their customers we owe them 0 respect. So much for helping family business’ in the neighborhood.
Needless to say I ordered excellent food after I cancelled this and my food showed up 10 mins after the delivery guy showed up for this order.

Definitely the best pizza around. I’ve ordered delivery from Sams sooo many times and I’m never disappointed. Even on busy nights the food arrives hot and delicious. Their prices are excellent and everything I’ve tasted from here is really good (Pizza, pasta, heros). Whenever I don’t feel like cooking, Pizza Sam will get my call

Best pizza on northern blvd. Every time I walk in, I am always greeted whether its for take out or eat in. Friendly staff and fast service! Can’t wait to go back!

Delicious pizza, delicious pasta and salad. Been coming here since the mid 90’s.
The pasta portion they are big, one order can feed 2 people unless you are super hungry.

So a number of things puts this place on my go to spot for a New York slice of pie! What I liked was as soon as you walk in Sam is behind that counter putting in work on those pizzas! Nothing like a local spot with the main man making your food. I had two slices because everything looked to good to pass up. One slice would definitely be enough –huge slices, so this pizza is rich with flavor tomato sauce had a rich consistency and the different mixture of cheeses with hearty meats made every bite amazing! The other slice I believe the grandma so rich with the ricotta and spinach and tomato sauce the dough was a nice thickness cooked perfectly. Next time in NY I will return for a couple slices absolutely worth going to. Oh and the price of a slice a few bucks

Sicilians/​grandmas here are the way to go. That’s all I have to say and I usually write terribly long reviews.
The chicken roll was pretty bad but have yet to try a regular slice. Good customer service.
The new go-​to delivery spot. Louie’s is another contender for one of the best pizzeria’s (mainly for the regular slices) in the neighborhood regular but this place is the real deal.
