I think this place is called Los Taquitos del Tio now(see photo). So that’s what I’ll call it. Randomly stumbled upon this place while strolling down Junction Boulevard and decided to give it a go. Los Taquitos could be described as a hole in the wall, definitely no frills about the place. A TV was showing telenovelas, and there was some eye-catching art of a hunky folk-hero type guy saving a maiden in distress. There is table service, not sure about the waitress’s English abilities. We shared a variety of four tacos for around $ 10. Not bad at all. The tacos perhaps were not the best in the world, but they were pretty good. Check it out if you’re in the neighborhood.

Kids! Update. Thanks for mention Kyle N. I definitely don’t want to steer people the wrong way, especially when it comes to Mexican food. We had a great experience the first time were here and because of Kyle’s review we decided on trying this place again. We agree this place is inconsistent. We’re going down from 5 to 3 stars. We thought the chic enchiladas were just ok. The sauce was on the thicker side. The rice and beans were very good, but could have used a little salt. The chicken tacos and the carne asada tacos were very good, but if we would have waited any more time the tortillas were starting to get a little chewy. It’s the downside of ordering in. Although I have to say they said 20 mins and they rang the bell at 21 mins. Nice. Disclaimer, we live about 4 short blocks away, but the fact that they took that into account and made it to our place on time was a bonus. The biggest bonus about these tacos… still only $ 2 each! Still probably the best deal in the hood. Even my favorite tacos from EL Gallo taco stand on Roosevelt and 75th St gets $ 2.50 for them now. So, certainly try this place, but not sure this is my go-to place on a regular basis. May the hunt for really good Mexican food continue!
