Management is on point here, they are always walking around on the floor in case you need something. Food portions are very good and food consistency is good. I remember one time our food took a long time and the manager come to apologize to us. My wife love the bold coffee they serve, my son loves the burgers. I love the portobello salad and the home fries. pretty good servers are good for the most part

I’ve never had such repulsive food in my life from a diner, I went to this place with a friend and ordered to go, took a 5 minute drive back to the office, I had a burger and my buddy a order of wings, soooo when I opened the burger I could just smell the funk I removed the lettuce from the plate and saw a fruit fly dead between the tomato and lettuce, almost threw up on the spot the fries were so dry and gross I could not eat more then the bite I took. I then opened the side of Cole slaw and pickle and it was repulsive and the smell was so bad people in the same room as us began to look, my buddies wings were as hard as a rock and was unable to eat it at all, I will never return to this place. I would hope there was some issue with there refrigeration and this was a 1 time occurrence, yet still unacceptable.

It’s your typical American diner with better food than most. There were 6 of us, and they seated us in no time. They gave us a good amount of time to decide from the many choices on the menu. I ordered a tuna melt with fries. The portions are huge! The tuna melt sandwiches looked like eggs benedict; two scoops of tuna salad on two English muffins and melted cheese on top. I only ate one and half of my fries at the diner because there was just a lot of food, which I am not complaining! Had the leftovers later and they were just as delicious. I recommend this place if you’re ever in Jackson Heights.

I had the worst experience ever. The manager was rude and assumed we were there to drink coffee… at 9am after I traveled 45 minutes to get there. I don’t recommend this place but go to the IHOP across the street where your money is appreciated and everyone is just super nice.

This is a classic American diner, which are not that common anymore. It is spacious, clean and has a huge menu. I ordered the corned beef hash eggs Benedict, which is corned beef hash instead of the Canadian bacon. It came with a huge serving of home fries. Everything was really tasty, better than most diners. It wasn’t overly greasy and properly salted. My poached eggs were wonderfully runny. They also have some excellent English Breakfast tea. The waitress was very attentive and checked in every 15 – 20 minutes with more coffee or water. I will definitely be back!

I always enjoy my food from Jax Inn, and yesterday there, I had the best meal I have had in a long while. It is often difficult finding good, hot, low-carbohydrate food in the United States, but at least diners are good for bunless hamburgers and Cobb salads. Yesterday I thought I would try Jax Inn’s sauté chicken breast romano, and it was stupendous. The green salad was fine and the blue cheese dressing had large chunks of cheese in it. The chicken in the main dish was not breaded and it was in a delicious lemony wine sauce along with spinach, artichoke and substantial chunks of mushrooms. Potatoes are high in starch, so they allowed me two(non-potato) vegetables. I was served a very large amount of perfectly cooked broccoli, not too crunchy(undercooked) and not too soft(overcooked), served with the great excess of butter I had requested. In most diners, «mixed vegetables» refers to a blend of peas, carrots and corn that really has too much carbohydrate for me, but at Jax Inn it refers to zucchini, yellow squash and«sweet»(probably bell) pepper in a garlic sauté! It was extremely pleasing to my taste buds and the customers in the surrounding booths were probably aware of that from the sounds I was making. Every part of my meal was so good that I needed to inform the manager and extend my compliments to the cooks. Wow! Additionally, my waiter Hossein was friendly, patient, informative(especially when I asked about the mixed vegetables) and adorable. I made sure to leave behind a gratuity in excess of the standard twenty percent. Kudos(), Jax Inn. This was a great time, well beyond a simple opportunity to take refuge from the rain.

I enjoy the meals here. I have ordered bagel with lox and cream cheese and a BLT sandwich here. Each time I visit(usually on a weekend), the place is full of families, couples, and friend gatherings. I have to wait and have the lady take my name to be placed on a list. It is fine if you are not in a rush. The waiters and hostess are kind and helpful. I frequent this place and recommend it highly.

3.5 stars. I really like this diner. The prices are continually very low, service is good and the food is great. There is a parking lot and the vibe takes you away from the hustle and bustle of Northern Blvd. I just wish they had curly and waffle fries! Diner standard!

Beware of horrible customer service and rotten food!!! We ordered a burger and a buffalo chicken sandwich to pick up; both came with rotten lettuce and the sandwich also came with rotten tomatoes. Mind you, the lettuce was NOT wilted. It was outright ROTTEN – little, black, soggy moldy bits. ROTTEN!!! Starving after a 12-hour day at work, we decided to just pick it out and eat the rest. So, I ate the burger meat with just the cheese and mushrooms(because the burger buns were soggy to boot). My husband ate the chicken between the two slices of rye bread nothing else(his bread fared better than my buns and was not as soggy). Add to that cold, soggy sweet potato fries. All in all, a pretty horrible meal, if you can even call it that. When I called the manager to let him know he was serving food with rotten produce, initially he said, What would you like? What can I do? I said, Well, you can refund me for at least one of the sandwiches. He said I had to bring a sandwich back if we wanted a refund(uhm, too late for that). I said, I’m eating the meat, but, why don’t you at least meet me halfway. I’ll pay for one sandwich and you issue me a refund for the other one? He said, If you want a refund bring the food back. Or I’ll just refund you $ 2 for the rotten lettuce. I said, How about I bring your rotten lettuce back and show it to all your customers? He then started pretending like he didn’t understand what I was saying, and started muttering, «Sure, sure. I refund $ 2. My name is Chris. My name is Chris. $ 2, $ 2. Click. I called back and told the person who answered that the«manager» was pretending he didn’t understand me and hung up on me. Then he and I got into a discussion. I asked how the cook could even put rotten produce on customers’ food, and couldn’t he see that it was rotten? The excuse he gave me was, Well, when it’s really busy… I cut him off right then and there and said, What? When it’s really busy, you can’t be bothered to care whether the food you’re serving is rotten or that you’re making your customers sick? His response was, If you want a refund, bring back the sandwiches. So there you have it. Lesson learned: If you plan to order take-out from this place, make sure you check your orders thoroughly and don’t settle for picking out the rotten stuff. We shouldn’t have. Believe me, my husband’s already feeling ill…

Jax Inn is exactly what you expect a diner to be. The servers are friendly, the décor is retro, and the food options are endless. We went there late in the evening and were seated immediately in this really cozy booth. The seating here gives off a retro diner aesthetic. My table ordered burgers and sandwiches. Each order came with a mountain of fries — I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a huge portion for a meal. The fries tasted fresh and were nicely salted. My cheeseburger was a little overcooked, though, was was a bit depressing. Our table also had a buffalo sandwich, chicken caprese sandwich, and chicken salad. All of those were great! The bill at the end was ridiculously low for the amount of food that we had. It’s a good neighborhood diner, perfect for mornings and late nights.

This is the best diner in the Elmhurst area. I definitely prefer Jax Inn over Georgia’s Diner or that Nevada diner on Queens Blvd. The best part of this diner is that it’s 24 hours and there’s ample parking. The diner is big and the tables are arranged nicely so you don’t feel cramp and crowded. The diner serves large portions and the food is pretty decent for diner food. I come here more often for breakfast and lunch. It’s much better than IHOP’s food(across the street). The burgers are really big and even the nachos are a really large portion. The menu is extensive and they even serve breakfast at night. I even like how they have the desserts in display cases, which is found in the middle of the diner. They look really good, although I’ve never tried any. The food is affordable, you’re definitely getting a lot of food for what you’re paying. But this diner is more about getting full rather than eating a really good meal. The diner does get really crowded on holidays and weekend mornings, so be prepared to wait.

I signed up for Unilocal to let others know. That the eggs Benedict with Nova Lox here at Jax was deplorable. There was an excess of rubbery obviously aged salmon hidden beneath two over cooked eggs. The hollandaise sauce I requested on the side was congealed. Needless to say I sent the plate back, something I have NEVER done before. The line was long, my fiancé’s chicken and waffles came with undeniably frozen chicken tenders and an acceptable waffle. With my plate removed from the ticket and not replaced with anything by the way… Our meal was still over $ 30. My advice is to spend your money else where!

My friends, brother and I came here on Christmas day, because the IHOP across the street had a 45 minute wait. Upon coming here, we were told there was a 10 – 15 minute wait, which fortunately they stuck with their words. Upon entering to our table, I personally found the table pretty small. I sat at the corner to a wall and I could hardly moved. There are so many choices on the menu in terms of food: breakfast, lunch, dinner you name it! I ordered the berry french toast and the pizza burger. The berry french toast consisted of french toast topped with berries, and whipped cream with a side of whipped butter and maple syrup. The pizza burger was a beef patty with a side of fries, coleslaw, lettuce and tomato. The french toast was good(not too sweet or heavy but nothing special), but the berries, you can easily tell it was frozen berries that was left to thaw. When taste the berry, one bite eliminates the juice of the berry and you are left with the skin so dry and rough that it was too hard to swallow. The pizza burger and coleslaw were the biggest disappointments. The meat in the pizza burger tasted horrible. There was no seasoning whatsoever. It was as though the cook of the burger simply just took ground beef, shaped it and put it on the grill. The only thing I enjoyed about the burger was the marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Being a coleslaw lover, I never had coleslaw that I hated. Not only did it lack the necessary flavors, it had a funny smell to it. My brother ordered the«create your own omelette» which included mushrooms, spinach and mozzarella cheese, that came with a side of hash browns. He also ordered the disco fries(fries topped with gravy and melted cheese). The omelette was nothing special, something that you can easily make at home(Saving yourself $ 9), and lacked flavor. The hash browns were a huge disappointment. It was extremely bland which made it hard to swallow. It was obvious there was no seasoning in the hash browns and it was obvious our food was rushed. The disco fries, as he described it was okay. He enjoyed the cheese and some of the fries. The rest of the fries tasted burnt and the overall gravy tasted as though it was about 2 days old. He has gone here before, but not once has his disco fries tasted as disappointing as this time. One of my friends ordered the grilled chicken panini with a side of coleslaw, a pickle and a salad with balsamic vinegar. The grilled chicken was a bit dry, but it was a unique dry and not to the point that it tasted cardboard. However, the cheese within the panini made the sandwich too overwhelming. My other friend ordered the roasted vegetable panini with a side of coleslaw, a pickle and fries. He found his food pretty adequate in terms of taste, though the excessive fries got him a bit sick. Food: price-wise: pretty reasonable in regards to portion($ 8-$ 20), taste-wise: very disappointing(mainly bland flavor; a lack of seasoning that makes you sick of the food pretty quickly) Appearance: typical 90’s diner, with the sides of the place all booths, and the middle of the room tables and chairs. Casual ambiance, and it can get pretty loud depending on how packed the place is. Service: Service was pleasant, waiter gave us what we wanted and needed. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience. I don’t really blame them because the place was packed, but at the same time I doubt I will come here again anytime soon. The blandness and lack of comfort of the place made me a bit traumatized about my experience. At least now I learn, not to go to packed restaurants I hardly heard on major holidays!

Jax’s Inn. .. who knew that a diner can make diner classics and still make it absolutely delicious. This would be my 3rd time here and the food is delish. To be honest, the first time I came as a default because the wait for Ihop which is across the street was super long. The 2nd time my friend raved about this diner and we came here late night. It was time for some breakfast and we both ordered omelettes. My friend ordered the western omelette and I ordered the italian omelette. The portions were huge. The omelette was delish. It had italian sausage, roasted red peppers and onions. It was delicious. The platters come with home fries and toast. I could not even finish a ¼ of the food but my friend finished it all. I took the rest home. Now this morning early morn, we switched it up. I guess it was all up to me on what we would order. So browsing through the full menu which is extensive I ended up chosing a salad. Not for nothing it is hard to get a delicious salad from a diner, so I was a lil weary. But once again my friend was like I usually order the Southwest chicken salad. It was a choice between the chicken caesar which I love or the chicken cobb. The chicken cobb obviously won. Omg it was delicious. So fresh and the grilled chicken was so flavorful and delish. Once I took the first bite, I was saying this is so good. My friend was like I told you. Ha. Ok so for the 3rd time, I was pleasantly suprised on how delicious the food was. I’ll probably try something different next time since everything they put out is delish. You might ask why 4 stars if the food is so amazing. Well the place is nice and clean however the 2nd time we weren’t seated. We sat ourselves and we had to wait a while for a waiter to take our order. This morning we were seated however, they took a few to take our order. Other than that they pretty good. Once we interacted with the wait staff, they were friendly. I’ll definitely return and try something new.

We came here for a late breakfast before heading back home. The diner was packed — however, it only took us may be around 10 minutes or so before being seated. The menu consisted of your typical diner dish but everyone in our group opted to go with the Breakfast Menu. I ordered the French toast made with Challah Bread with a side of Canadian Bacon. My better half got the California Omelette which comes with a side of toast and potatoes. The portions are decent and so is the price. However, the potatoes were not up to the par — this is where I had to take 1 star out. As a big potato eater — the Home fries was pretty bland and not«fried» enough at least for me. Besides, everything else was good. The service was good and the waiter was kind enough to take our pictures as well despite being really busy.
