I came here after hearing great things about the menudo and needed to try it myself! Well they were right! This place has some of the best menudo, but it’s a bit pricey for what it is and the location. For a large bowl(which they don’t ask what size you want) cost $ 8. It comes with 3 tortillas that are homemade so that’s great. Their lemonade is fresh squeezed and is actually limes not lemon. It was good either way. The reason I’m not able to give more stars is because of the lack of service. It was horrible! None of us got any refills the entire time. It was a little annoying since there were only 3 other tables so we should have had top notch service. All the wait staff was joking and carrying on in the back and more concerned with their conversations to care about the customers. On a side note, and one that some may care about is that the restrooms stink of urine bad. Like really bad. Like you can smell it from the hall bad. So there’s that too. Would I come back, maybe, if we are in the area. But not likely.

When I went on a Saturday afternoon. There were several large families eating. I sat down alone at my table and the waitress asked if I was ordering to go. I said no I’m dining in. The restaurant is clean, you can smell food before you walked in the door. I ordered the Carne Guisada the waitress came back with a Garden Salad. I explained that this is not what I ordered. They said it was no problem and came back within seconds with the Carne Guisda. My food was not very spicy, temperature wise the salsa they serve you with the chips was hoter than my entrée. This is not my area of town so for that basic reason I probably won’t come back. But I would try other places next time I’m in the area. There food is solid and they have plenty of business. They accept credit cards and the tortillas were 2.5 stars.

Salsa is always spicy and the queso is good. The carnitas are the best. Flour tortillas are on point.

My mom loves their caldo de Rez… I really liked how they give you the broth separate from the meat, rice, and vegetables. I had a couple of sips of the broth and it was great! I usually do not like Rez, but theirs was very tasty and not super fatty, so that is a great thing! I will definitely have to go back and try more items on the menu.

This is a tex mex restaurant, the place is decent, nothing too special but its ok. I got the Flauta plate which was mediocre and tasted like just about any other tex mex version. decent food and the service was ok.

Best Mexican food in Jacinto City. I always get the Blanquita’s Special and the salsa is the best as well. Great enchiladas, flautas and tacos. The girls are very nice as well. The rice and beans are cooked just right and their cheese is hot and gooey. Wonderful food.

In the building that once housed iconic Jacinto City Mexican food place Rio Grande, Blanquitas has surfaced to attempt to fill the great void left by the loss of R.G. According to the waitstaff(ownership?) the cooks are the same as at Rio Grande. Which means on my second visit I will have to try the cheese enchiladas and chiliquiles, since those were my favorites at Rio Grande. The décor is similar, with a pair of T. V’s replacing the jukebox. The ubiquitous complementary chips and salsa comes with a couple choices of salsa one quite flavorful and a bland Americanized queso. We came too late for the lunch special, I had an order of 2 fairly large chicken flautas with good Spanish rice and beans and my dining companion(my usual date a.k.a «mom») had a chile relleno, stuffed with carne guizada with shredded not cubed beef. My flautas were an excellent if not stellar example of the breed. Mom’s chile was only moderately spicy and might have benefited from a bit more of the tasty beef and less potato. This could have gone either way between 3 and 4 stars… but if the cooks(and consequently cheese enchiladas and chiliquiles are the same, I will be eating her with some degree of regularity.) Our check exceeded 20 dollars slightly with tea and tip… so moderately priced for Mexican food. The new waitstaff is a little more comfortable with English than the old Rio Grande staff(who I loved dearly) seemed to be… if that matters to you.
