I went here for the first time with my wife tonight. The server was nice, and the seats were comfortable, but the food seemed like it could have been made in my microwave at home just as effectively. Maybe the Japanese menu items were better. It’s not that I wouldn’t go here again, but it was sort of expensive for the mediocre food we received.

Herfy’s Issaquah is a bit quirky. While the food was decent, it was also a bit strange. It is a combo of a burger and milkshake joint and a sushi Asian restaurant. However you can not get a menu for the sushi, you have to get up and leave your table to go to the front of the house to see the list of sushi. Needless to say, I wasn’t taking that kind of risk in trying the sushi. The waitress was standoffish and cold. She didn’t like answering questions about the menu. The food was slow and not very hot. And when we asked if they had spicy mayo, since they also served sushi, she looked at us like we were beasts and shouted«No, you have the „Special Sauce“ THAT is what we are known for.» The«special sauce» well that’s just ketchup and Mayo. nothing too special. But now we know what they are known for. and it isn’t the food or service.

The restaurant is currently transitioning to a new format called The Issaquah Kitchen. The menu consists of Herfy’s-style food, teriyaki and sushi… what could go wrong?! The food was good, but took quite a while to get out. I had myself and three kids, two of whom order off the kid’s menu, and it was still $ 60+ out the door. Good, just not that good.

We’ve been to other Herfy’s, and expected more of the their same. This was different, and terrific. Burgers, yes, and philly cheese steak, and more, plus a nice selection of Japanese foods. Lunch on a Monday was very good. Service was prompt, attentive, smiling. We’ve been looking for a place we can go on a regular basis, and this is it. An added plus, Eastside fire and rescue, engine 10, was there in full force and seemingly having a terrific time.

I’m not sure of all the good reviews. We went here in a Saturday, 1:30 in the afternoon. They told us to sit anywhere. None of the tables were clean. We picked one of the cleanest available. We waited 15 minutes before we finally just grabbed a menu from the dirty table next to us. Then the server came over to see if we were ready to order. Uh sure, waters for now. She came back 5 minutes later with the waters and took our orders. Three medium shakes: chocolate, piña colada and a banana. One herfy cheeseburger no tomato One bacon cheeseburger no tomato One sourdough bacon + grilled onions, no tomato, no ketchup One large order of curly fries The shakes came ten minutes later. These were only 16 oz. shakes for $ 3+ ! The chocolate was ok. The banana was ok, tasted like baby food bananas, which is how he likes them. The piña colada one was runny and lacking any flavor at all. Not impressed. The burgers came 15 minutes later! Ugh. They were warm, but not hot. And they got the orders correct. But, no seasoning on the meat? My sourdough burger was so bland! The onions were barely grilled, no flavor. The bacon was also lacking flavor. I just wasn’t impressed. When I tried to pick it up the bottom bread fell apart, it was ripped and they served it anyway. For how much we spent, we could have gone to Red Robin and had much better food. Or XXX for way better shakes. Will I be back? NO

I’m going to shift my Herfy’s visits to Issaquah as what they serve is what I expected. The Snoqualmie one is rumored to not fry French Fries to done«because oil is expensive and he wants it to last. Well I’m not a fan of limp fries. Anyway I’ll be coming here again since they know how to do it right. I had the messy onion burger which I enjoyed. My sister had large clam strips and fries. The portions out shine Ivars for sure. In short, good selection, reasonable prices, large portions. Give them a try.

I come here often with my friends. It’s become a traditional hangout place for us. We love the chicken teriyaki and burgers. Their happy hour is pretty great too! All of the staff members are friendly and attentive.

I don’t quite know what the hub-hub is about with Herfy’s. After having been there a few times now, I can confidently say that I have not had a great meal there. It’s been mediocre at best. I’ve ordered burgers, kielbasa sausage dogs, fish and chips, salads and chicken strips. Don’t make the mistake I have and go here more than once. Looking back, the only reason why we came here is because other restaurants had a wait time… Herfy’s did not. Perhaps that says it all? Overall, don’t expect big things from this place. The food; blah. The service; subpar. Location and parking; prime and easily accessible.

I have been here 3 times, 2 of those times were about a year ago. Both of those times, the food was bad. I have NO idea why I kept going back. The meat(burger patty) every time has tasted like it was sitting out in the open air for quite awhile. The fries OK. But really, how hard is it to mess up frying frozen zig-zag potatoes? Don’t pay the extra .50 cents for the fry sauce. Fry sauce is two things: ketchup and mayo. How do you go wrong? I dunno, ask Herfy’s in Issaquah. Soooo, after not having visited Herfy’s for awhile I guess my memory had faded but I was soon reminded how awful this place is. I ordered a simple cheeseburger($ 5?) and a Butterfinger milkshake(what I really wanted!!!). The burger– the meat brought back memories right away. Memories of exposed meat, sitting around for hours before being cooked… The milkshake, ugh, I was craving sweets so badly– which I rarely do. I over rode frozen yogurt(big mistake) for a milkshake from good ‘ol Herfy’s. Not only was there, what I’m guessing, a leveled teaspoon of Butterfinger but that was NOT ice cream. No way, EVER, could anybody convince me that that was ice cream in my milk shake. I honestly don’t even know how to describe what it was that I thought I was drinking. Like a flavorless, watered down, thick liquid. I know it sounds weird– it was weird to me too. I took a few sips then chucked it. The burger I ate because I was so hungry, I hate when that happens. Forget my unsatiated sweet tooth, my money!!! I’m not rolling in the dough so this was really a treat for me! Thanks, Herfy’s! for ripping me off. Do not eat here. Trust me. The food is not good, like, at all. There are other restaurants in Issaquah(and beyond) that are actually good! You’ll leave dissastified. Eat at your own risk.

Good family spot with very casual environment. We had multiple different foods including the mushroom cheesesteak which was the highlight for me. My kids also enjoyed the fish and chips which were well cooked and the cheeseburgers. There is also some Asian Teriyaki on the menu. Seating was easy and the location very convenient.

The name and appearance denote a classic American burger joint. The menu is really Asian-American fusion that doesn’t do either genres very well. Tried a salad and it was pretty alright, so this place gets a generous 3 star meh review.

Okay here goes! I always read reviews and find them to be helpful so I thought I would throw my two cents in on this place. When I suggested it to my husband I openly said, reviews are 50⁄50 so this may be good or may be bad… Ambience: it’s such a large building from the outside but felt very small walking in. Small barrier separating the«bar» from the regular dining. Three people in the dining area and two gentlemen were in the bar. Not crowded at 7:00pm on a weekday night but more than that… It felt dead… We chose to sit in the bar to try pull tabs for the 1st time. Service: waitress was very nice! Not the greatest server but super nice. Small language barrier but we got through it. She nicely explained pull tabs for us and took our drink order. I had to point out on the menu which type of wine I wanted… Food: Hubby and I ordered some fried zucchini and onion rings to start. We both ordered burgers and when we asked for fries, our server suggested it was«too much» food… Ummmm since we were new and used to some places like Five Guys with HUGE orders of fries, we headed to her warning. All of the food is served in little tiny red baskets. It was all good food! Reminded me of good bowling alley food. It is what it is. The food came out almost immediately which we both found odd but again, it is what it is. Was it too much food? No, I had to share my damn fries with my husband! The price was right for what it was. It would have been nice if the place was a little more lively but we will probably return for a burger and FRIES sometime.

So I walked in here on a random Monday for a late lunch. Place was pretty empty, but then again it was a late lunch on a Monday. Everything appeared to be clean, host who ended up being my server was friendly throughout my visit. I ended up ordering a Chili Cheeseburger, Fries, Coke and some fried mushrooms. Kudos for never letting my soda glass go empty. Fries were pretty good too. The Burger was AWESOME. I got the single patty and I definitely was stuffed. I loved how they served it too, nice strips of bacon(who doesn’t love that?!? Okay so why only 3 stars when I should easily give this place 4 stars in the very least? When I got my order of mushrooms, it looked pretty. Took a bite into it and the inside was still cold/frozen. Not a good temp/flavor for something that should be deep fried. I figured it was a mess up. Took a bite of another one(good-wish), third one same deal, and I said that’s it I’m actually sending this back. Sent it back explaining that they were still frozen inside. Also upon sending it back lady also looked at me as if I did something wrong?!? Anyway when they brought back my mushrooms, I really don’t think I got a new batch. In fact I think they took my mushrooms and just threw them completely back in the fryer for a little while longer. Needless to say the inside was definitely cooked now, but the outside was burnt. Fried mushrooms aren’t cheap so this was really disappointing. Anyway, 3 stars for now. I will return again because the burger was that good and I hear great things about their milkshakes. I’ll be hesitant about their mushrooms though.

Pro: it’s a hamburger place, so I got a cheeseburger. It was good, not GOOD, but just good. Nothing special and good enough to go back. Con: got there at 1145 on a Sunday and there were 3 other tables with people. When we walked in we waited for a minute until someone yelled from the back to take a seat. We waited for 5 minutes before someone came by and took our order. Food came out in another 10 minutes or so. The Ugly: tables and items were sticky. That kind of sticky you feel on really old dirty things … Kinda gross really. The fries are like Ore Ida fries you bake in the oven at home, not pay for at a restaurant. At $ 10 per person, not worth a return trip … Which might be why there were only 3 other tables taken.

Three stars for the food. Two stars for the service. We came by in the early afternoon on a weekday. We got seated right away; just one or two other parties were there. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. About ten minutes later, the woman who sat us came around the corner and literally let out a gasp. Remember when a Unilocal was a Unilocal before it was a Unilocal? That’s the sound she made. She was honestly startled to see us. Kinda awkward. How you forget seating a gorgeous blonde, the most angelic baby ever and a presentable fella, I don’t know. We quickly gave her our order, hoping the food would be worth the wait. Average burger. Average fries. Everything on the table not horrible, not fantastic. I’d probably give them another chance. But, my lady is a «one and done» kinda person. Unfortunately, you only get one chance to make a first impression.

I love the Herfy’s menu. LOVEIT. So many things to choose from, a GREAT happy hour, and this particular Herfy’s is in a fantastic location. HOWEVER. I’m only giving it 3 stars for one major beef I have. NOFREEWI-FI. Issaquah Herfy’s: I live a block from you and would be a REGULAR(we’re talking many nights of the week)… if you would just get wi-fi. Until then? Maybe an occasional take-out order.(Once a month, IFTHAT.) But wow. You’re missing out on some serious money.

Wow! So glad this family restaurant was added to Gilman Village – The atmosphere and décor is all very inviting. The menu is AWESOME! You can order almost everything on the menu and not be disappointed! There are so many items to choose from & the variety is INSANE. You can order a huge burger that is cooked to perfection… to delicious seafood… or venture out to teriyaki! Their short ribs teriyaki is so yummy, definitely one of my favorites! Fan of something sweet? Look no further than their milkshakes… WOWZA. Mango is to die for! I’ll definitely be returning here many more times – service is friendly, quick, & professional :) Happy Customer!!!

Not just your average burger joint — Oh how I love this new Herfy’s! It’s only been open under the new ownership a couple of months but it is already a favorite with our Eastside circle of family and friends! I’m sorry it’s taken me this long to post a review so will make it extra special good! Location: You can’t beat it! It’s the first building on the left as you turn into the main front entrance of Gilman Village. Easy to get to it’s only about a ½ mile or so down Gilman blvd from I-90. Parking: Free, open and lots of it! Couldn’t be better! Atmosphere: I just love this location! The building is an old historic building from old town Issaquah moved to the corner there and painted up bright barnyard red. Lots of booths and tables seating options inside as well as outside on their brick patio with lots of nice shady blue picnic umbrellas. On nice days like today they open all the doors, including the giant roll-up door so it feels like the whole restaurant is an extension of the patio — SO nice! On cloudy rainy days the place has so many skylights and big windows the dining room just always feels nice, light and airy. Waitstaff: Friendly and courteous — this is a family owned restaurant. They take a lot of pride in their business, they are quick to ask how your day is going and offer menu suggestions. Another bonus is their«Extended Menu» with specials of the day, lots of salads and teriyaki. Food: If you are a milkshake fan — this will be your new favorite hangout! The shakes are delicious hand crafted works of art(in my humble opinion) and absolutely the best on the Eastside! Want two flavors mixed? Extra syrup, cherries or no whipped crème? No problem. Customization is easy and turns out fantastic every time! My favorites are the pineapple and marshmallow shakes! SO good! We’re talking major comfort food vice here! The food comes out quick, hot and fresh off the grill! The burgers and hotdogs are everyone’s favorite here — the garden burger, the chili cheese burger and the kielbasa with sour kraut and onions have been the favorites among our group so far. I’ve tried the halibut and chips, clam strips and scallops on separate occasions — I forgot I was in a burger restaurant — they are just that good! Definitely worth the drive and several notches above other burger spots in the area in quality, class and customer service! Great place!

I love Herfy’s. It’s a great burger and a place I can always count on getting nice and full at. The new spot in Issaquah(Used to be a Korean restaurant) next to the Bamiyan Afghani spot has a full bar! Fat greasy cheeseburgers and an IPA or some Crown Royale? Yeah, it sounds too good to be true, but it’s the truth. If they could get a Happy Hour going here, that would be a big plus. Come and check them out!
