I only lived in the south for a year, but that was enough time to discover how much people love drinking sweet tea. Unfortunately at the time, I wasn’t a tea drinker — let alone sweet tea.
As per usual, things have changed, taste-​buds evolved, etc., and now I think tea is pretty great. So of course when I saw Acme’s sweet tea FRIED CHICKEN (!), I couldn’t resist.
You can select two hearty sides with it. I chose the mac and cheese and kale. Both were stellar.
I ate everything on my plate. All of it. It would have been a travesty to leave any of it behind.
Our server was super accommodating when my mom let him know that her crab cakes came out cold. In fact, the chef came out to apologize to her and delivered two fresh piping hot cakes. It was really surprising in a good way.
All around, this was a fantastic dinner in the Isle of Palms. Thanks so much to Ashley S. for the rec!
