I waited a whole year before I tried Mr. Pickles sandwiches. Now that they closed down, I wish I had taken advantage of their delicious-ness! I loved every sandwich from them and of course on dutch crunch bread– MMMMM. The bread was quite rough on the roof of my mouth, but that seriously did not matter to me one bit. Try anything and everything if you ever encounter one of these, it’s supposedly a Norcal chain? You will know the distinct«Mr. Pickles smell» once it comes around to make your mouth water. I was once on a train from UCSB to San Diego and knew someone, somewhere on the train had been teasing all the passengers with the breathtaking Mr. Pickles aroma while he or she was chowing down on undeniably fantastic sandwich!!!

mr. pickles is so yummy! the portions are huge… and once again i discovered this jewel while visiting my cousin out in sb. its very plain when you first walk in and its ran by a bunch of college kids at ucsb. but man can they make a meaty sandwhich! its nice because you can grab a sandwhich here and walk down the street and grab a pitcher of beer to go with it. i’d come here over and over again!

When I lived in Isla Vista I absolutely LOVED going to Mr. Pickles for the Tuna Tuna. The other weekend I was in town and was craving Mr. Pickles only to drive to IV and find out they are CLOSED!!! They were no longer there. It was a total different sandwich shop. I was sooooo sad. I would love to open a franchise of my own in Huntington Beach. Wouldn’t that be nice lol Can someone please tell how and why they closed? They were always busy busy when I lived in IV.

I like Mr. Pickle Sandwich shops – I busted my Mr. Pickle cherry in Chico, Ca. Yummy bread, all sorts of options for a tasty sandwich including cranberry – but minus-1 star because every time I go to this place they don’t smile, don’t make eye contact and generally don’t seem like they want you there. I find myself wanting to hurry up, get my sandwich, and get the hell out before they burn me with their angry-evil eyes! Grr!

Definitely the best sandwich I have ever had was from this Mr. Pickles. Every time I stop or walk by there is always a pretty big line and there is a reason! I have had a few of their specialty ones but the one I always go with is «The Mr. Pickles»(with no pickles, how ironic) on dutch crunch. Around $ 8 for the sandwich but that’s about what lunch costs now a days. The people who work their are pretty cool also. When going back to visit friends this is a must stop when eating in IV.

my favorite sandwich shop in the entire world!!! no lie i love them. i moved away from isla vista a year ago and besides my friends this is the place i miss most. i love their garlic sauce and everything comes together so well. i normally would eat one half of the sandwich for lunch and the other for dinner. so the price is totally fine with me.

I LOVEMR. PICKLE’S sandwiches! They’re oh-so-satisfying when you’re craving a deli sandwich and it’s such a big sandwich that it can be split into two meals. Dutch Crunch bread is a must! I’ve only tried Italian Stallion and Got Beef, but I’m sure everything else is great too. Not the cheapest sandwich(about 6 or 7 bucks) but SOWORTHIT. It’s never empty and lunch hour is BUSY.

I grew up on sandwiches with dutch crunch bread. I came to Isla Vista, thinking there was no place that could fulfill my need for that bread, until Mr. Pickles came into my life. Plus they have great garlic sauce and best of all their PHAT sauce is pretty much what it stands for, pretty hot and tempting. I love it. It really does go great with any sandwich. I do wish there sandwiches could be a little bigger and cheaper, because I got monster $ 5 sandwiches on dutch crunch bread back home. Other than the size and price, I like em plenty.

I love this place, theyre bread is da Bomb(btw this is the 2nd time ive used this outdated 90s phrase but sometimes you just gotta tell it as it is) — My friend would always get a chicken and cheddar on dutch crunch with cucumbers and LISTENTOTHIS– PHATSAUCE– yes phat sauce is what i said. its liek a chipotle ranch, alittle spicy, but it makes the sandwhich amazing– whatever sandwhich you get just ask for phat sauce on it– and you pretty much haveto get dutch crunch bread– thast a given. I have tried a couple of their specials on their menu which are good but cost a little more yet have found that my friend’s sandwhich is the best one– i demand you try it and then tell me youve had a better sandwhich than this

I was stoked when Mr. Pickle’s moved into IV. It immediately took the title for the best sandwich in town(from Javan’s or Sam’s, it doesn’t matter now, bitches!) I like the BLAT the best.

Great sandwiches, but a little pricey. for 7 bucks youll get a huge sandwich made with really quality bread and meats. They have a very wide variety of specialty sandwiches, and I’ve never been disappointed. Personal favorites: 1. The Rendiesel: cold turkey, cream cheese, avocado, bacon with«phat sauce» garlic sauce, pickles, peppers, lettuce and onions on dutch crunch. 2. The Hot T: Hot turkey with pepperjack cheese, cajun sauce, cream cheese and cranberry sauce. 3.(If you’re in the mood for a heart attack) This sandwich is ridiculous. and oh so good. Pastrami, bacon, cream cheese and avocado. need i say more?
