Rasoi is my favourite Indian restaurant which is located at Oak tree road, the food was absolutely amazing as well and beautifully displayed in the buffet organization… My stomach usually fills with starters and soups itself, but as main course items are arriving, my appetite gets increased everytime because of their taste at Rasoi.

Cheap doesn’t begin to describe them. Is everyone a dunce that no one tells them to turn the air conditioning on? I complained many times of the temperature and they always say it’s just hot outside when it’s summer. They’ll then turn it up a little higher, but not enough to be comfortable. They keep the reservation area cool, but for the normal walk in customers, it’s always sweating hot. I don’t know how people can sit there and gulp down food in that heat. So now I’m at that point to not go anymore, the food was nothing special. It used to be pretty good, but now quality is going down, down, down.

Rasoi is one of the decent restaurants in Edison, NJ to have yummy Indian food. This is very decent place with good ambience in Edison. We ordered food from Rasoi for a small party at our home, we got all good compliments from all our guests. This is the best Indian food we had in whole NewJersey… Nice experience with Rasoi and will always prefer this restaurant.

This was our first visit to restaurant for lunch buffet and would certainly say mixed of experience with flies and ok food. The place we were offered to sit was close to their door opening towards kitchen. Two times small flies dropped into my glass and no apologetic gesture from servers. They were busy in talking among themselves. One time big fly rover around our food and about to fell into, really not sure about the kitchen hygiene. I can understand from other reviews of stomach upset and food poisoning. Foods were ok, the dessert was really pathetic especially Rasmalai, it was really hard to break it. Other items were good like chicken saag, Hot garlic fish, Navrattan korma and Noodles. I don’t see the professional behavior from hotel staff Looks like they treat customer as granted.

There was nothing on the buffet I would eat again. We were pretty hungry when we got to the restaurant and ended up leaving with a bad taste in our mouth.

Rasoi II is the real deal! We arrived a little after they opened for dinner. There were a few people inside and we were quickly seated. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all questions and helped us to find items on the menu that may had different names than we were use to. I order the Chicken Makhani which I know as butter chicken. It was good. The chicken did seem a little dry but the creamy tomato sauce really helped. Someone else ordered Saag Paneer and it was amazing. Our table of 4 order 2 sides of basmati rice and 2 orders of garlic naan. This was enough for us all to share. As we finished our meal the whole restaurant had filled and it was kind of tight with chairs being pushed back to back but it was still comfortable. I would definitely return when I’m back in the NJ area.

HUGEDISAPPOINTMENT !!! Been there with friends on saturday for Lunch Buffet. But food was Horrible. It was not even properly hot. I visited this place for first time as i thought food quality would be same as jersey city location. But food was pathetic. Poor service. I would never recommend anyone for buffet. Waste of money and no satisfaction at all. Jersey city location is much way better than this one. We felt food was 3 days old.

Went to this restaurant yesterday evening as we in the mood of having Moghlai food. What a mistake!!! Not sure of the buzz the restaurant created as the food was way below par. We ordered the mix tandoori platter with naan and Rasoi special chicken. Mix tandoori platter was an utter disappointment as the kababs were stale, salmon was overcooked, tandoori chicken was probably a day old and the other chicken pieces were cold when served. Tandoori sizzler experience fizzled as we tossed out most of it. Chicken special was even worst as the curry had a lot of color but no taste. Chicken was again couple of days old and was much below our expectations. Saving grace was the bread which was a bit ok and edible. We decided not to pursue getting biryani to avoid disappointment. What a waste!!! Not recommended. Not sure if it deserves even one star…

I went to the lunch buffet over the weekend at Rasoi. First off, there was a sign that said to wait to be seated, however, there was no staff waiting to greet guests or provide direction. The hostess was busy setting tables. The restaurant waiters and staff kept moving along doing their own duties, not paying mind to the growing number of customers waiting to be acknowledged and seated. Finally, the hostess came by & seated us in the side room. Saturday was an unseasonably warm day for February. The restaurant unfortunately didn’t get the memo that it would be warm and instead cranked the heat up. Those of us seated by the vents were sweating. Finally, one of the waiters opened up the side door after a customer complained. Once fresh air rafted through the room, we immediately felt relief and begin to think clearly, proper ventilation has a funny way of doing that. The buffet itself offered multiple items to choose from, whether your preference is veg or non-veg. I thought the food tasted ok too, however later I realized that either it wasn’t fresh or properly prepared because my family & I had upset stomachs for the rest of the weekend. Rasoi used to be a great restaurant that was clean & offered a variety of tasty cuisines on Oak Tree Rd. I don’t know what happened to their precision, but they were very much off their game. While I was waiting in the buffet line for dessert, the bartender was cleaning the bar counter and flinging the dirt on the sponge everywhere. Pieces of dirt and grime fell on the family waiting in line, in front of me. That sight alone made my meal complete, I was ready to call it a day & leave. As we were leaving the restaurant, we witnessed one of the waiters on top of the roof; he was fearfully poking the heating/ac system with a large piece of wood, I’m assuming he was trying to get the AC system to work. Rasoi, please invest in a proper heating/ac unit so that your waiters don’t have to risk their lives in order to provide proper ventilation for the customers that are literally melting in their seats. Also, ensuring that your dishes are fresh and prepared correctly would be appreciated by the unsuspecting customers that visit your establishment. While your buffet used to be great, after all that I’ve seen & experienced recently, I’ll pass.

I have been going to this restaurant for the past 7 years, and it has never disappointed me! Although the prices have steadily risen(as with most successful Indian restaurants in the Edison area) over the years, this place is always a hit. I strongly recommend coming in for their lunch buffet. Think a minimum of 3 vegetarian curries, and a minimum of 2 meat curries, plus chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, pakoras, etc. As with all solid buffet spots, the naan is fresh, fluffy, and served piping hot to your table. Again, I strongly recommend the lunch buffet, since it’s an affordable way to try a multitude of Rasoi II’s dishes. Look around and you’ll see a ton of Indian people around you, enjoying that very same lunch buffet. I rest my case :)

You can see this is my 12th check-in here but this for sure the last one. As we walked in we were seated In one of the most uncomfortable corner table. We looked around and half the restaurant was empty so we asked if we can sit somewhere else. We were told all other tables are reserved! I know for a fact that they don’t reserve unless it is a big party. We saw that tables were given to the people as they came in. I said no big deal. I asked for the drinks and I had specifically asked for soda on the side and I got my drink with the soda in it. When I asked I was told that the bartender screwed up and they can give me more soda on the side! Are you kidding me? We ordered two Appetizers and they were okay. We ordered the main course but it was almost an hour before we were served. We saw people ordered after us already had their main course so I asked. I was told it it coming now and it did but it was COLD. Curry dishes was just warm but naan were cold like room temperature! I took a bite and showed it to my server who took it back. He came back in 2 minutes with the same naans! How do I know? Everyone had took a bite from their naan and it was the same naan heated in the microwave now even worse as they are now chewy! Is this what we paid for? Upon asking for check I mentioned it to my server and he was willing to give me fresh naan, but isn’t it a little too late I said? I had it, this is the FIRST time I gave less than 20% tip and it was ZERO! I hope someone from the restaurant management reads this b/c this used to be very good and my go to place.

This place gave me food poisoning. I went for lunch yesterday, and there was something I ate that did it. It was a buffet lunch, and I am pretty sure they served old food or spoiled/bacteria filled food. I am disgusted and very upset about this. I only ate the vegetarian food, my suspicion lies either in the bhel puri or palak paneer. Do not go here!

I used to come here and order out on weekly basis when I was in my Indian lick for months. My favorite is chicken sahikarma. Delicious curry dish with yogurt and other spices. I order medium and it tends to be slightly spicy just like I like it. Accompanied by some Indian rice delicious! Good service inside as well and it tends to get busy on weekends. Parking is pretty bad, you may have to wait to park on peek weekend hours or try the lot next door. I would give it 3.5 stars but I’ll move it up to 4 as I used to visit them quiet often and they were always pretty consistent with the service and food.

Good food. I can speak for vegetarian stuff at this place which is awesome. Their quantity of curries are generous. We have done many times take out as well. We can handle medium spice and it is tasty so we don’t miss actual curry taste. Sham Savera, Paneer Kadai and Paneer Chilli Dry are the best. Prices are reasonable for the Quality/Quantity of food and service. This is our goto place since last decade or so. If you are not familiar, they have 2 other restaurants in NJ(Jersey city, South Brunswick). FYI. one in South Brunswick is only open during weekend.) Having tried all three locations, I can confirm for a foody person that taste of food(at-least veg items) are identical, so one less thing to worry about location. Tip on lunch buffet(@Iselin) for those who are fond of Pani-Puri/Gol-Gappa — Try their Friday buffet where they have dedicated station and served instantly.

Wow loads of options and delicious and authentic food. Definitely go for the buffet since you can try everything. There are so many options I can’t even name them all. Chole tikki. Pav bhaji. Chicken kebab and chicken fry. Chicken tikka. Paneer masala. Paneer burji. Daal. Okay you probably think I named them all but there are more options. Two diff rices and naan of course. If you want your Indian fix come here asap. Only drawback I would say is it’s not spicy for my taste but they have loads of mango pickles and spices to top off all your foods. Will definitely leave with a food coma!

I love Rasoi. I’ve been here multiple times and everyone I bring loves it as well. I ordered my go-to chicken tikka masala and plain naan the last time I was there, with gulab jamun for dessert. The chicken tikka masala is PERFECT and the naan is soft and big. We also really like the garlic naan Jerez. We always really enjoy the meat platter as an appetizer which comes with chicken, lamb(although I don’t eat it), salmon, shrimp, etc. The food is reasonably priced and we always like the service. The place is always filled with people. We’ve been to many Indian restaurants both in and outside of Edison, and Rasoi is my personal top. We have never been disappointed by a single item. I am honestly shocked that this restaurant doesn’t have a higher rating. I will always come back to Rasoi.

Would only go back for their lunch buffet. Really disappointed with their dinner. Naan was good, but all the meat dishes lacked quality meat. Expect that a lot of their food is cooked before and reheated. Their mango lassi was served room temperature… Gissel kept saying that she liked Bombay Talk which my parents had taken her a month prior.

I’m a big fan of Rasoi II, my then boyfriend, now fiancé was hesitant to bring me here because he felt it was too divey for me! Little did he know at the time that I love divey places! This is now one of our regular spots! This place used to be a diner now converted to an Indian Restaurant, they have a daily buffet, but on the weekends the buffet is really good and has many different Indian, Indo-Chinese dishes along with some desserts! We have come for regular meals as well. We are often the only non — Indians in the place(but that is surely changing as word gets out). We love to eat where the locals eat. The staff always recognizes us and treats us very well. It is always packed in here, even during the weekdays, but we have never had to wait for a table. The staff always makes good suggestions for us and the kitchen has never left us down! My favorite thing here is the Lamb Biriyani, the Raita they make compliments it so well! The restaurant itself is somewhat dated and not fancy at all, we were here at Christmas — they even had Christmas decorations up!(Everybody likes gifts and food) It’s always clean, they recently re — did the bathrooms. It’s a must do when in the area!
