Food was absolutely delicious. I’m not giving them 5 stars because the service was slow.

Top notch Indian cuisine! The Saag Paneer was delicious as was the Raita we had with it. Also ordered Tandoori Shrimp(nice amount of tasty shrimp!) and vegetable Goan(good. Spicy.) And the ambience is relaxing. Love this place.

The food was excellent. Service was strange Wine list is terrible, something a diner would have. Barefoot Chardonnay? Come on guys, you can do better.

***They moved from the building near the Irvington Train Station in March 2016 to the Main Street in Irvington, NY. There is plenty of metered street parking in town and you should find a parking spot with no problems. Came here for my friends birthday with her family and we had a great time — the food was delicious! Between the appetizers and main dish I cannot say a bad thing about this restaurant. For Starters we had the Potato Samosa — savory turnover;peas & potatoes ginger stuffing and my Main Dish: Kozhi Vartha Kari — Coconut Flavored chicken curry(not hot) both dishes were flavorful and delicious :) The others all enjoyed their meals. All and all, I will come back here for Indian. The staff were friendly and the ladies bathroom was clean.

Overall good experience. Food was delicious(though the saag paneer was not as good as in other places I’ve had). Service was sometimes inattentive, but ok.

Unforgettable meal. Ordered two tandoori chicken, naan and raita, couple of glasses of wine. Order came surprisingly quick, soon we discovered why. Chicken instead of sizzling was warm and dry — apparently cooked early and warmed up. Through the middle of the meal waiter asked how we liked it — got the answer. Sent back one tandoori, waiter showed up again and let us know he removed charge for the second tandoori order as well — quite nice of him. Writing this 4 hours later experiencing shortness of breath and stomach aches. Not sure what they add to their food but this is definitely something that sensitive stomachs cant stand. Interior is nice, so go if you can digest nails, otherwise — stay away.

Went there for take out some months ago — food was excellent! Nice woodsy feel, near the river. I heard they were moving, hopefully somewhere a little more accessible. A little pricey, but worth it

Who would’ve thought there was such a good Indian restaurant here by the water? We came here for lunch while taking a day trip up in Tarrytown mainly due to Unilocal reviews. We were here as soon as they opened for lunch and were quickly seated. Though there was only one waiter, we didn’t have any delays in service. He was very attentive and friendly. We ordered from the lunch special and got the potato samosa, fried tilapia app, Chicken tikka masala, and chicken chettinad which came with rice and naan. Overall, way too much food for us. The appetizers came quickly and fresh tasting. The tilapia was very nicely cooked without being greasy. Flaky on the inside, crispy on the outside. The samosa has good texture and was way too filling. We could’ve walked away before the entrees came out and be full enough. Nevertheless, entrees came out afterwards and we tried as best we could to eat what we can. The naan was good, but didn’t taste or look like it was freshly made. The chicken dishes were tasty with huge chunks of meat. They were very enjoyable with the naan and rice. In the end, we couldn’t finish all the food and had to take some to go. It was a very enjoyable experience off the main streets in Irvington.

The ingredients were fresh and high quality, for the fish and sagg that I ordered from the lunch menu. The spices were good as well, though I thought they could spice up a bit. The Indians I was with were satisfied as well, and they were the ones that recommended the restaurant.

After posting this review I had the owner call my phone directly telling me he’s going to call the police if I don’t take this post down!!! Unilocal is where you get to express your experience. That’s the whole purpose! To have this man call me directly yelling at me about MY real experience is scary even more of a reason to stay away from this place. I literally wouldn’t be surprised if he showed up at my home. I guess he doesn’t understand how Unilocal works or what freedom of speech is. I asked for my refund and he still refused. I am am irvington resident I decided to try this place because I love Indian food WARNING the food is horrible and so is the service I don’t know which is worse. I ordered food from here the minimum is $ 44 which i think is ridiculous to begin with anyway I got my food delivered specifically told them please make it mild my daughter is only six and cannot take the spicy dishes they promised me they would make it light the food was extremely spicy to the point I could not even eat it I got the paneer with tomato sauce and it tasted like they poured a can of Campbell’s tomato soup on top of cheese it’s too much detail for me to go into detail about every dish but I called them they know they messed up but had biggest attitude ever told me they would give me a refund but I would have to contact PayPal because that was the may I purchase the food. Bullshit they received the money and I never got a refund. This is the worst food I’ve ever had in my life it was disgusting no flavor but extreme spice even the rice wasn’t cooked well I recommend the Indian food restaurant called Calcutta wrap and roll in Ardsley their food is delicious and their customer service is great God knows why I didn’t stick to this place but being in Irvington I wanted to try the Indian food here. It makes me sick to my stomach that I paid $ 16 for a dish of a few vegetables that tasted frozen then microwaved you live and you learn do not go to this place!

A second good dinner at Chutney Masala in two months. Excellent vegetarian appetizers, the platter is enough for 4 if you get the samosas in half. Great chicken and lamb dishes. Nicely done naan and desserts as well.

The food was delicious, the service was good and the ambience was very pleasant. This is the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to outside the UK and India. Interesting menu and the food lived up to the descriptions. Yum!

Aside from the non-Indian décor and lack of music, the food and service was great. My girlfriend and I enjoyed lamb saag and chicken tikka masala. The food was awesome! The lamb saag was not on the menu yet, they accommodated us no problem. We had no reservation and were seated within 10 minutes. We highly recommend this restaurant.

This is not Indian/Desi food. That said Koftas were stale, and hard. Paneer didn’t have any flavor. Dal had too much tumeric, and not right blend of spices. Food is just too bland, over priced, and lacks the rich flavors of Indian cuisine. Would not recommend, or go back. Yes, service wasn’t bad, but food was disappointing.

Delicious food, good service, decent prices. Samosas are large and flavorful. Their chicken entrees– excellently cooked meat with wonderful creamy and authentic sauces. Right on the water but their interior is quite dark, and doesn’t offer much of a view which is disappointing.

Superb food and service. Quite traditional Indian cuisine. Nice atmosphere and great views of the Hudson River. Good size portions to share. Prices are reasonable for Indian food. Best sag paneer I ever had. Lentils were delicious. Nan was freshly made and piping hot upon arrival at the table.

Went with a big party from my job(around 15) they told us that did could not put us in one big table, in stead we were seated at 3 tables very close to each other, which worked well for us. The server he was very smart efficient, after he finished the order of a one table instead of going to the other what he did was enter the order to the kitchen, so the kitchen was not getting all 15 orders at once, they did get it in part. I order from the Lunch Special Thalis the Chicken Tikka Masala. Combination Platters Served with veggie fritter, basmati rice, nan bread(I add some garlic), vegetables of the day, lentils of the day and of course Chicken Tikka Masala is a dish of roasted chunks of chicken in a spicy sauce. The sauce was creamy, spiced and orange-coloured. I love the taste of it. Little by little iI am discovery the great taste that Indian food can offer

Second time and still a charm. This place lives up to the hype. I stayed away from my typical desires and still was pleasantly surprised. Don’t miss the dal makani. Looks like a cup of black beans in a creamy soup but it completely warms your palate. Whether you are a legumes lover or not.

Came here on a whim. It’s our fifth anniversary and we decided to try the place out based on great reviews from my boss. We came for happy hour and parked in the lot, right next to the beautiful scenery of the waterfront; it’s scenic, with the Tappan Zee to the right. It’s quite pleasant. The restaurant sits within the large parking lot and when we entered, it was completely empty; the lot was full but I’m assuming it may be car that belong to the straphangers that rode the Metro. Happy Hour is only at the bar and we had no problem finding a spot to sit, so hubby and I each ordered a well drink($ 5) as well as one of everything off the menu(sans the tilapia). The food came out fairly quickly(score for having the place to ourselves) and it was all great. My favourite was the Chili Chicken; it’s very spicy and the sauce is so good! Other high contenders are the Onion Bhajjia(hubby’s fave), Basmati Pulao, Murgh Reshami Kebab and the Paneer Naan. I also tried the Hara Bhara Kebab and at first didn’t care for it when I tried it with the tamarind sauce but it tasted so much better with the green chutney. We ordered the Gajar Halwa for dessert because, despite the fact that I was full, I had to try that for the second time in my life and it as great. Loved it! The food, service and scenery were excellent and I’ve already told hubby that Chutney Masala is a must for all days off from work

In January, I went to Chutney Masala for the first time in a long time — and I still turn to it as the prettiest setting in the ‘burbs for good Indian food. It’s part of the cluster of restaurants along Irvington’s beautifully renovated waterfront, which has several really nice restaurants. Walk inside and to the left, there’s an elegant little bar. While there’s seating on the main floor, I prefer the upstairs room which has starched tablecloths, wood furniture and framed pictures of old-time-y photos. Don’t miss the somosas — fried potato dumplings; either lamb or vegetarian/potato are great. The appetizer could be a whole meal! The $ 18 tandoori chicken is tender and comes with a nice pile of rice. The $ 23 shirmp biryani is also very good. The $ 4 classic naan, a plain flat bread that arrives steaming hot. I also tried the $ 7 peshawai naan, which has a sweet filling that was a bit too sugary for me. Btw, if you want a really soothing non-alcoholic beverage, try the $ 7 mango lassi, a yogurt-based drink. Very smooth.

My daughter chose to have her high school graduation dinner here and it was a great choice! The service was impeccable as staff and management did everything to accommodate our large group and the food was delicious. It’s right on the river but admittedly the views are minimal. Will definitely go there again!
