I decided to try despite poor reviews, just because it was convenient, and I have to say that it really was as bad as the ratings suggest. I thought to myself«it can’t be that bad, it’s hard to mess up bbq», but I was wrong. The meat itself wasn’t awful, but the combination of meat, bread, sides, etc was awful. Cold store-bought hamburger bun and terrible bland mac and cheese. Save yourself the trip, there are plenty of other places around to eat besides here.

came to sonnys with high hopes. Especially since the one in Dallas is so good. Hubby and I ordered the meat combo plates. I had the pulled chicken, pulled pork and sliced brisket. My sides were the green bean casserole and the Mac and cheese. The casserole was flavorless and soggy. The pulled chicken was good, not too dry or fatty. The brisket was very dry and no flavor either. The pulled pork wasn’t horrible but wasn’t great. The Mac and cheese had runny watery sauce and ado guess what… No flavor. My husband had similar items but he added ribs to his plate. They were tough and chewy. Not the fall off the bone smokey flavor you expect. The cashier had a sour look on her face as if she hates her job. So all in all with today’s experience I probably will not return to this location. You are better off going to spring creek over on belt line.

Great bbq chicken! Really cute, relaxed environment. It’s great to have a good bbq joint right in Las Colinas. I will be back!

I was very disappointed in the service and quality at this establishment. We shouldn’t have had to wait more than 5 minutes to get our food. The food was cold, and lacked good flavor. The brisket had a lot of fat in it. Not a good value for the price. 2 meals and 2 drinks for $ 28.00 is over-priced.

Good bbq! Ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, the sausage is AMAZING, and the«Famous» Onion rings stand up to their claim. The bbq sauce is unconventional to be sure, but in a good way. Very thin, but with a good sweetness and almost a bitter tang to it, which I think complemented the smoked sausage quite well. Decent for the price.

Smoky, tender delicious ribs. Also loved the pulled pork and pulled chicken. Brisket was too dry, not fatty and tender, it should be smoky and melt in your mouth. We liked the 70s style soggy green bean casserole with the crunchy onion topping, spicy with pepper. Baked beans have meat, terrific.

The only thing worse than the BBQ were the people that work there. A group of my friends and I ate there and not only were we treated badly but every one of us got food poisoning. Really disappointed.

Food here was mediocre at best, and too expensive for what it is. Have had much better BBQ in Maryland! Got the large ribs platter, with potato salad and green bean casserole. Sides were OK, but ribs were tough and chewey. Looked like they had grilled each rib instead of smoking thr rack. Service from staff was mediocre. They didn’t care for their customers. Restaurant was very divey. I found it alright, but my wife simply hated the ambiance. Such a shame, especially about the food. Will not be be back here again.

Just ok. We came because we saw it in man vs food. Much better barbecue in Austin although I’m sure Dallas had some too that we didn’t have time for. Sides were just average. Sweet tea was good.

Quite possibly the worst BBQ joint I had been to in my life. I’ve had bad food but at least it was warm. I prefer hot food but they didn’t even serve warm food. The 2 mugging cooks in the window, need to be told to smile. Last thing they want to meet is this veteran of the Army. One patron told the manager(I guess) this food is the worst he’s had there. He claimed the dish he had never tasted that bad. Yes, he said«that bad» lol. So, I have to assume it’s usually a tad bit more edible, smh… Oh, this is my first Texas BBQ experience! This location failed Texas. We was so disappointed I forgot to take pics, smh. You know what Unilocalers. I’m done. Forget my meal review, I’m upset…

Ahh man, the BBQ here in my opinion is fairly dry! The sauce itself is ok though… as well as the sides. But I just can’t find a reason to frequent this place with the dried out meat. A good brisket to me… needs to be moist, smokey with just a melt in your mouth flavor to it. You know what I mean? I mean if you just have to have bbq this place is alright but there are so many other great options around DFW. Just google it.

Nice place and good environment. I ordered the ribs. They were not terrible, but they didn’t leave a lasting impression either. I’m picky with ribs and these didn’t do it for me. Everything else about the experience was good, the sides were great, people were friendly, and I enjoyed the visit.

«Never again» is all I could think of last night and this morning as I was in the bathroom with terrible cramps and stomach pain after eating this food yesterday at lunch. Of course I was in too much pain to eat dinner at home as well. Does that say enough? If not… the frito pie was terrible and the onion rings were the worst I’ve ever had. Portions on the frito pie were also less than desired. I got my food to go so I can’t say much for that part of it all. Never again.

If you’re looking for day old bar b que, this is the place to eat. Why is Sonny Bryan’s still in business? My last time to eat here. Forgive me Rudy’s for I have sinned.

How the hell does this place stay in business? If you have a Yankee relative that you don’t like spending time with and you’re looking for a way to make sure they never come back to visit… this is the perfect place to bring them. I came in damn hungry and left hungry. My $ 12 lunch plate consisted of a stale bun with what was supposed to be chopped brisket… the brisket was dry as hell and was seasoned with some type of subpar rub that left a terrible aftertaste. The end result was something that was similar to a sloppy joe from my elementary cafeteria days. The Mac and Cheese was straight out of a dry box mix and was barley warm. The beans… luke warm as well and tasted terrible. I gave a one star because somehow this place managed not to screw up the Dr.Pepper. I will never, ever be back. Stick with Rudys, Pecan Lodge, Hutchins, Hard Eight.

Bbq very mediocre, sauce is no good. For a regular size plate cost $ 20. I wouldn’t recommend it personally.

The lunch plates are a great deal. The pulled pork was a little dry but the sauce made up for it, nice tangy kick to it. The coleslaw was vinegar based. Onion rings were ok the underdone raw side but bearable. Yes, would return. Colleagues said the brisket and ribs were excellent.

My first five seconds at Sonny Bryan’s kinda sums it up: «I’d like to order for here.» «Will that be for here or to go?» [Pause] Not horrible customer service, but far from remarkable. Not horrible BBQ, but far from remarkable. I ordered the ½ lb plat with sliced«beef»(I wouldn’t call it «brisket» either) and pork ribs. The sliced beef was dry and not flavorful. The pork ribs were better but not something I would go out of my way to have again. The sides were fried okra(good, but most fried battered food tastes like fried battered food) and a squash medley which… was not horrible, but far from remarkable.

No, no, no … there are much better bbq places that this! I was looking forward to having some good bbq. Bought the Groupon to use here and thought it was going to be good. Unlucky for me I didn’t realize that this is a chain, and the good bbq is probably from their original location. The meat was lukewarm! It was dry and tasted like it was sitting under a warming lamp for awhile. This goes for the beef, chicken on the bone, and even my sausage. Sides were better than my meat. I had the fried okra & fries. Highlight of my meal was the bread! Bread, yea you heard me. Their bread was that delicious! Fluffy and baked just right! Just writing this review makes me want to come back here… but just for the bread. =)
