A group of co-workers and I go to On The Border often for lunch. The bartender Javier is so cold and typically never speaks even if you are dinning at the bar, but on of the waitress’ Bethanie is awesome and always gives excellent service! Food is always good and drinks are awesome as well.

Ordered lunch fajitas and was served ridiculously overcooked chicken — not what we usually get from OTB. No one seem to care about if our food was okay although I heard others being asked. The waitress didn’t seem to get the hint when she took away a practically full plate of food and got a resounding ‘NO’ when she asked if I wanted a ‘to go’ box. TAKE A HINT — THEFOODWASINEDIBLE!

let me make statement by saying I love fajitas. I love fajitas from OTB. I know they are a chain and it’s all frowned upon on Unilocal but it taste good to me. They give you free chips and salsa. I always get steak fajita with guacamole. It comes out on a skillet so you know its pipping hot. They have lunch menu that’s more affordable but portion is smaller than dinner. If I come after work hours I usually get a margarita with my meal. Their seasonal watermelon margarita is the BOMB!

I visit this location at least once a week for lunch and I always get taken care of with fantastic service. Alot of the servers know who I am so they know my order already and always say hi whether they wait on me or not. I love the lunch portion chicken fajitas they are just the right amount and the queso is one of the best in town. Keep up the good work otb.

I am not a huge fan of chain restaurants, but I will gladly admit that On The Border has always been one of my faves when it comes to chains. I typically only visit when they have specials like endless enchiladas, endless tacos or discounted tacos on National Taco Day. However, this time I was craving their salsa and was in the area, so we decided to drop in for a quick weekend lunch. A quick lunch that turned out to be a long one. The service was terribly slow. The server complained several times about being the only one working his area because someone had called in. It was a circus. As much as I like OTB, I’ve never been a fan of this location. 3 stars because the food was good

Been here twice already this week and the service is always great and they always get my order right. I always come around happy hour. This location is nice… clean…and never crowded. I always get the trio combo and its always yummy. Chips and salsa are always fresh. My drinks which is the grande margarita on the rocks always makes me leave happy. Service is always great they greet you with eagerness and happiness to see you. My server is always attentive. This is my number one spot to go to.

Was there for a quick bite and a work follow up meeting on Friday. They were almost completely full at 11:30 and the service was slow. I can’t be mad at the young lady waiting on us — she had two tables right behind our booth that had more than eight people at each. Her manager came and assisted, but we did a whole lot of waiting around. One of the two tables I mentioned were very needy and waved her down constantly. To put it politely, they appeared to be a group of individuals that did not dine out in full service restaurants very often. The food was what the thingie next to the star review says, A-OK. I got a lunch special — $ 7.99 — that was two cheese enchiladas, rice, and a choice of beans(refried). For that much, I expected a larger portion and for tortillas to be included. It’s not like I didn’t eat most of it… it was just kind of bland and overpriced. I guess I expected more for my money. Probably my favorite thing at On the Border is their salsa, and that was on point. I also ordered one of those choose-your-own-combo deals to take home with me, and I’m glad I checked the bag before departing, because the chimichangas weren’t in there. Once again, that’s not on the harried server — someone in the kitchen should have caught that. She rectified it immediately and apologized, and gave me a to-go soft drink gratis for my togo order. She also threw in a bag of chips and some salsa. We left her $ 10 on $ 30 for being a trooper amid the chaotic dining room. This was the first time I’ve been in an On the Border in years, and it was pretty much what I remembered. I’m more inclined to hit a hole-in-the-wall or a little family place than a massive chain for my Mexican food. I’m sure they do just fine without my help — like I said, it was packed before 12PM.

Honestly, I can say this is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. They have the best enchiladas– I usually get the cheese and onion with either queso or Ranchero sauce. Both excellent! They have really good specials on Tuesday– $ 2 tacos, which were okay! I like their salsas, and if you want something a littler more spicy, you can ask for a their spicy salsa. The service was good the last few times I have went here, but there has been times the service is just not that good, hence the 4 stars.

My experience tonight here was shocking to say the least. Had my mother in town. She was very ill the past couple days and all she wanted was chicken noodle soup. So we walk into the restaurant and we ask if we can look at the menu before we sit down. We asked if they had soup. The girls up front said they only had chicken tortilla soup, so we politely say no thanks and we we’re leaving when the one of the girls says to us: «Ya, sorry, we don’t serve menudo here» Absolutely unacceptable. Makes me sick that someone would treat my mother and I in such a blatant racist manner. This was NOTOK.

I made the mistake of going to this OTB on June 15, 2015. It took an inordinate amount of time to get my food(when I arrived they were not very busy but by the time I left they were). When my food arrived I asked the waitress for a drink refill, additional chips and napkins(I used the one I had to clean up some salsa).. . The waitress never bothered coming back. I had to go and find the napkins myself but never received another drink. I went up to the front and asked to speak with the manager. The manager tried to excuse the lack of service on he restaurant being busy but even after asking for water, napkins and chips the waitress could not bother herself to return to my table.. . The manager, Ryan, offered to discount my meal and I told him that it was not necessary. I gave the manager a twenty dollar bill(I had not received my check). He must have given it to the waitress because about 5 or six minutes later she came back with a receipt and my change. You would think that after the trouble I had, the manager would have cashed me out and make sure that it was handled properly.. . But that did not happen. Rather than charging me the Monday enchilada rate, I was charged full price(I stated I did not want to have the meal discounted, so the restaurant decided to over charge me instead). The manager offered to comp my meal but I told him to forget it. The money that was stolen from me was the last dime OTB will ever get from me.

I have been here several times when I lived in the area but it seems they have hired un experienced high school girls at hostesses and they suck at it frankly. Walked in for dinner on a friday night and the place was about ¾ full. Figured we’d still have to wait a but. The hostess gave me a look like I’d told her she had cancer when I asked to be seated for 7. That«25 minute» wait was only 10 minutes(yay!) and she was very inconvienced when I said we needed a booster seat. Waited at the bar and had a great bartender whom exceeded my needs. Sat down and immediately the waitress(jokingly) expressed that were weren’t supposed to be seated in her section since she was supposed to go home? Whatever this location can do better.

Will not be returning. Food was bland and service was incredibly poor. Waiter was never in the dining room. Took 20 minutes to get water, 45 minutes to get food, brought dirty silverware, and when the food did come out it was incorrect and barely warm. I’m worried that if this is how much attention they pay to you and your order the same attention is likely being paid to the preparation of the food. Inexcusable poor service when the restaurant has maybe 15 people total in the restaurant at 9 pm on a Thursday evening. Save your hard earned money and avoid paying for extremely poor service, inconsistent and poorly prepared food that you will be over charged for compared to the actual value.

We went there as a party of 10 and had a wonderful time. It took less than 2 mins before being seated on a busy Friday lunch hour and our order for drinks and appetizers were taken promptly. The place is big and is typical of an OTB but somehow it feels nice inside. We ordered four appetizers: 3 veg and 1 one non-veg; Firecracker stuffed Jalapenos, Spinach & Mushroom Quesadillas and two more whose names I don’t remember. What I remember is the plates were cleaned before our server came back to take our main dish orders; they were really good. I had the Veggie fajita with extra cheese and guacamole. It came with Mexican rice, beans and warm flour tortilla. The veggies were fresh and grilled just perfectly like a fajita needs to be and tasted good especially the Portobello mushroom and there was a nice char on the onions; it was a perfect thing to eat with rice as well as to use it as a make-your-own tacos. It was really wonderful. The only thing I wasn’t too crazy about was the rice portion for the entrée price; it was TOO less. I asked everyone about the food; all meat-eaters to vegetarian liked their food. They also seem to enjoy the drinks whether it was draft beer or flavored iced-tea. Our server was busy but still managed to keep up with our mumbo jumbo customized orders and was attentive enough to fill the drinks or replace the chips or making sure we were not out of food on our table. The Kahlua ice-cream was a perfect way to end the meal. Definitely a nice place even for a large group; overall, it was a pleasant experience.

I came here bc we got a gift card. Wasn’t to thrill until this visit. Service was actually great and the drinks are strong. I left happy :) glad they finally hired good service. Food was typical Mexican but my favorite was the brisket queso.

Way to go! They accommodated our party last minute because another restaurant that will remained unnamed, but rhymes with kazoos, took too long with nothing to offer. WAYTOGO, ONTHEBORDER! You Rock

I am saddened to give such a low score in an update. Some coworkers and I went today for Happy Hour. We arrived in the bar at 4:30, left at 6:45. Why? Because the service was AWFUL. The bar was not full. Only a few people. Still, the bartender sucked. Bryan would just disappear. It was almost comical, the way we kept having to look for him to flag him down. Had to ask for plates, silverware… even menus. When we finally got his attention to make orders, he acted pissed that we had questions. He was too busy chatting with a regular at the bar. The food arrived after a long wait, the it was lukewarm in temperature. Why? Because it had sat in the kitchen, waiting for our slow-ass waiter. I was embarrassed since I had chosen OTB, and then we have such a horrible encounter. What happened to all of the good employees?

I’ll keep this short and sweet: The brought out the wrong order. There was a bug in my water. We had to flag down our waitress whenever we needed something, she never just stopped in to check on us. I LOVEOTB, but this location: not so much.

Came for dinner. The mushroom and spinach quesadilla was a very delicious appetizer. The complimentary salsa and chips were also a nice touch. The server was very nice and attentive. My only complaint was the main entrée came out alittle cold. And the rice was kind of hard. I was too hungry to make a big deal and the appetizer filled me up. I tried the frozen margarita, a good drink for $ 5, the flan was also nice. Overall a good place for casual Tex-mex.

So I don’t really like chain Mexican places. At all. But On The Border keeps winning me over because they have really good vegetarian options. I don’t think they are on the menu, but if order veggie fajitas they will hook you up with a delicious mound of sizzling veggies along with some cilantro and lime rice and vegetarian black beans. Yum. They just added a fried quesadilla to their menu that was chock full of delicious roasted veggies and it was amazingly delicious, too. Aaaaaaannndd they tend to have good beers on tap! I had a delicious Rahr Ugly Pug with my yumtastic quesadillas and was the happiest girl who hates chain Mexican restaurants to ever be eating at a chain Mexican restaurant. Last note, the servers tend to be really friendly here. That helps, too. So now you have heard my case for eating at On The Border. The defense rests!
