The Glory House is a catering company that handles wedding, corporate events, etc. But they also have a lunch buffet during the week which is terrific. Usually it consists of a full salad bar, homemade soups, 2 entrees, 3+ sides, bread, etc. The staff is attentive, the food is always tasty, and the price is right. Tip: the tomato basil and cream of mushroom soups are outstanding.

My husband has been seeing the Glory House in downtown Irving for awhile and thought it was just catering. Turns out, it has a wonderful lunch buffet. The lunch area is next to the big event room and I can see how this would be a nice venue for receptions or parties. You can have the salad bar/soup or the full buffet. Pretty good prices for what you get. I absolutely loved the Tomato Basil soup — the owner said they have it every day in addition to an alternating soup of the day. I would go back and get bowls full of just that! It’s creamy and smooth and wonderful. The salad bar was well-stocked with fresh ingredients and a lot of options for toppings and dressings. They give you two choices of entrees(different everyday — menu online) and on the day we dropped by, they had chicken fajitas and sauteed pork roast. Fresh corn and flour tortillas, beans, rice and all the fixings. The wait staff was polite and attentive. We really enjoyed this lunch and would go back any time. They’re open weekdays from 11am-2pm. I highly recommend it. It’s hearty enough for men to like and a nice enough place for a women’s lunch gathering.

Glory House has been in Irving for a few years now and I am always pleased with the food and atmosphere. Such a friendly place to meet friends and enjoy the hospitality and good food. They are open five days a week and a different menu each day. Most days the owner, Jo Ann, makes her way around the restaurant to make sure you are being taken care of. I have taken friends to eat there and have heard nothing but compliment about the food. Go try it for yourself and you will be in for a treat. Becky W.

I cannot say enough good things about Jo Ann and Glory House Catering. I needed catering for lunch(and some days breakfast, as well) for 7 days in a row. After the first place I had placed orders with(and charged me $ 1400 two days in advance so I was locked in to their god-awful service when I actually should have just cancelled all together) dropped the ball on my client and me twice in one day, I found Glory House last minute in a panic. I told Jo Ann what I wanted, and she put together a menu for my 120+ guests every day. She didn’t overcharge me and worked with my budget and the menu for each order I placed. She was on time, quick to respond to my last minute changes/questions, and willing to accommodate my every need. I had amazing feedback from my clients and hosts about the food. I received an invoice and receipt every single day, like clockwork, on time. My stress levels dropped back down to normal after the first day because I knew I was in good hands. I recommend Jo Ann and Glory House. She & her staff took amazing care of me this past week and I will use them again in a heartbeat.

So happy that Glory House won the Blue Ribbon Small Business of the year award from the U.S. Chamber for, what is it now, the seventh year in a row?! It’s exceptionally deserved by such hardworking people; the years of great customer service and marketing have definitely paid off. Congratulations!

I took my mother and sister here and we all loved the food. It was fresh, and tasted great. We had italian meatloaf, penne alfredo, great cooked spinach(something i dont usually like), broccoli, but my favorite a breaded italian chicken dish with sauce that was unbelievably delicious. I opted for seconds instead of desert. But dont expect to find any of these dishes if you go to this restaurant, because they change their entire menu daily. Having lived in Paris for 2 years, i know that this is the norm over there. So i have a lot of respect for what Glory House is trying yo do. Although this is a self serve buffet, the service is warm and attentive. Oh, and this meal would have cost at least twice this much in San Mateo California! So i dont know why the previous reviewer is so upset.

Be aware of the hidden charges! Have you heard of a buffet that does not include coffee? and dessert? Well, this one actually charges $ 1.99 for coffee! Dessert additional too! No food presentation… their meat dishes are pretty nasty too. They claimed for special vegetarian prices, but you got to tell them in advance or they will charge you the full price. total rib off!

My wedding was on April 13th and Glory House owner Jo Ann Goin was really worth every single penny! With Glory House, you get a venue and a coordinator all rolled into a pretty little package. She leaves herself very accessible for any questions you may have and when it comes down to coordinating your ceremony, she just takes care of business. For the bride who doesnt want to have to be the bridezilla on her wedding day and just enjoy it, Jo Ann takes over all the hassle so you can actually enjoy your day! The only criticism I would have comes from my guests and that is that her staff is so super fast and attentive, sometimes their drinks would be on the table, they would leave for a few, and then they would come back and they would be gone. Super professional and courteous woman and she runs an excellent business and her staff is really friendly. I highly recommend this venue to the bride and groom on a budget who don’t want to sacrifice quality for their big day! Oh and a word of advice, really consider going with her preferred vendors! I learned that the hard way and regret that.

Jo An was horrible ! I was DISGUSTED with her behavior. My mother and I scheduled an appointment with Glory House. To make a long story short, the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Jo An who was in my opinion the most condescending, arrogant, pompous and RUDE person I have encountered in a very long time. She treated us with such coldness, as if the mere presence of us was a waste of her precious time. Any time my mother would ask a question, she responded as if she was annoyed and could have cared less about presenting us with descent customer service. I was so hurt by the way she treated my mother by speaking to her as if she was a stupid 2 year old. Jo an, How dare you! We did not provoke her to treat us this way at all. Jo An seemed agitated, frustrated, and angry. And even when we told her how she made us feel and that we would prefer to work with another caterer, did she try to reconcile and try to find a resolution for her patrons? NO. in a snide way, she shows us the door and says, «Oh, I’m so sorry». But said it as if to say, «Sorry, but your problem, not mine.» Again, I have never in my life dealt with such an unprofessional woman. How this business won a blue ribbon award, I have noooo idea. She could use a class in professionalism, manners and simply treating people with respect and kindness. We left with a very negative impression of Glory House.

Hi, This is a good business, but doesn’t cut upto my mark, and believe me when I say my expectations are reasonable. Afterall I just expect that the guy responsible for cooking, knows how to cook. Well, here it goes, the Chicken smelled like tuna, the meatball sauté was full of sugar and salt at same time, rice was good, bread was good, beans were above average, and thats all the items on the menu, if you just opt for the Buffet, they must be kidding. Kids in my university use to dish out better food at better prices in the college dining hall. But, I’m from the East coast, so this might be as good as it gets in Wild Wild West, or not. Well wating to find a perfect American restaurant, Cotton Patch would be my favorite till then.

We had our wedding here and I was very impressed by the care that Glory House takes in making that day very special. It was more than what I expected and would recommend it to anyone wanting a small intimate wedding and reception. The food was incredible and the staff was professional and very caring. I truly feel they understood everything we needed. Thank you Jo Ann.

Whether you live in Irving or not, you seriously need to take the whole family here. Glory House serves homemade, piping hot and delicious food for those looking for a hearty meal. Their lunch buffet can’t be beat in terms of value AND quality. The menu changes daily, but you can check out what’s available for the coming month either on their website or on their active Facebook and Twitter posts. I’ve eaten here so many times, not just for casual and business lunches but also during their monthly breakfast mixers exclusively for the local Irving Chamber. The ambiance is disarming because it looks like an upscale, elegant, ladies-who-lunch type of place, but deep down it’s a homestyle restaurant at heart, and Jo Ann, the proprietor, loves nothing more than to welcome her customers like they were guests in her own home. Her attentive wait staff are unfailingly polite. The lunch buffet is under $ 10 and includes a full salad bar and plenty of yummy dishes like meat loaf, pot roast, hummus, brisket, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted red pepper dip, lasagna, pork tamales, and an infinite variety of vegetable side dishes. Oh, and they have free wi-fi, too! They also have special Sunday brunches throughout the year, so if you can, get on their mailing list or check out their Facebook feed to get updates on their next brunch. It’s becoming a well-known place, so make reservations to guarantee yourself a seat!

Glory House serves gourmet food at an affordable price and all the utencils are recyclable and biodegradable. You can definitely tell that owner, Jo Ann Goin puts her personal style and flair into everything from the food, the location, the décor and down to the biodegradable None dible potato silverware in your hands. Did I say potato — yes I did. They are made from potatoes but you can’t eat them. The entrees are inexpensive with all you can eat for under $ 10 and the selection is great. I will definitely recommend and go there again!

Shhhhh… do NOT tell anyone about this place. It will totally be our secret! I don’t think anyone knows because this place would be packed to the gills if word got out. Menu changes daily. Two entrees, two veggies, salad bar, two soups, some sort of dip all you can eat for $ 9.99. And these aren’t your normal entrees. I had the Chicken Cordon Blue Lasagna. Imagine chicken and ham in a light cream sauce with cheese and pasta stacked in a pan. Drooling yet? They also had shrimp linguine. The salad isn’t just some green stuff with a side of tomatoes and garbanzo beans like at Cici’s. They have pea salad, chicken salad, pasta salad, three types of green salad and all the toppings. As far as atmosphere goes, you’re in a catering hall set up. It’s like a wedding reception at a hotel. But with it being a self-serve set up, I can get in and out before my lunch break is over. There were only about 5 tables occupied when I was there, so it’s not made a full on run yet. It will. Check the menu at their website. Pick they day that sounds yummy. Park in Irving’s cute historic downtown area. And then stay out of my way. I’m probably there and probably hungry! Note: they have salad bar only for $ 7.99, vegetarian option for $ 8.99 and they cater. Only open for lunch.
