I love coming here with my mom, the food is just amazing, I always stick with the tortas they are just too good, and I always have a good experience when I come.

Awesome authentic Mexican food with a very extensive menu. Ceviche was fresh and delicious. Torta was so flavorful and huge portions. Great salsa bar and price was right. My only suggestion to management is to turn the music down which was blaringly loud.

If I could rate this place a 0 I definitely would. This place seriously sucks! & there employees are rude as ****! I will NEVER go back to this place again. I once came in to eat there and this employee has the ***** to tell me that they did not have any clean forks so they gave me a spoon. & I ordered a chicken! Who eats chicken with a spoon. Second, I came in there because I needed a fork you are seriously going to charge me for a fork? Do you guys charge for people who order take out as well(to go box, to go cup, forks & spoon?) are the employees paying for the stuff that they need to charge people for small things? Like come on now. I hate this place & I will definitely let everyone know who comes to my job NOT to go there. Those employees especially the girls who work there need to get fired. Keep your mouth closed if you have nothing nice to say.

Ordered a torta and tres leches to go. Festive atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. Both the torta and the three milk cake were delicious. Great experience all around.

My favorite place for real Mexican food in dfw! I drive 30 miles for it. Walk in with twelve pack of beer and they will take it from you at the door and bring it back on ice garnished with limes and seasoned oranges. The tacos are amazing, cheap, and the number of choices is the largest I have seen anywhere. I’m guessing there are 40 different meats? The traditional meal that feeds 4 – 5 people is really fun and delicious. The tortillas are made fresh, the Barbacoa is incredible, the only place I find moronga, sweetbreads, quail, lamb choices, just incredible. Unless you want to drive across the border, or near the border it’s hard to find anything close to this. Truly a gem.

I give this place a 3 stars because I thought I was getting homemade flour tortillas per the previous Unilocaler pics. I guess I will need to continue the quest. I came on a Sunday there was a nice crowd. Service was very attentive but I FOREWARN you to brush up on some Spanish if you come here. I had the pozole which was excellent and 2 bean and cheese taco, with queso fresco on flour. The tortillas did not taste homemade(I am a Mexican food aficionado from San Antonio, I know homemade).

This place has everything from A-Z! I always come for breakfast and end up eating something else. The Mariscos soup with a whole fish head, crab leg, octupus, clams, shrimp is legit! Limon/Lime aide is fresh! They have stuff here your parents used to eat and you’ve never eaten! This is my #1 Mexican restaurant In DFW!

Oh, Heavily Mother of God– if there is such a thing as heaven on earth, you can find it in the torta sandwiches wrapped in aluminum foil at Dona Lencha. I like to call it my ‘Food of the Angels Sandwich’. We started off with orders of chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole. Even the chips were made fresh! Yes, hand cut flour tortillas which are deep fried into chips– the fresh taste means they’re using fresh frying oil, I think. The guacamole came in a small, deep bowl, yet sufficient for three men– and you can tell it’s made in house, daily. It’s important to understand that a torta is a type of bread that’s a cross between a thick tortilla and a chibatta bun. Torta sandwiches are made with the torta bread. There are about ten different tortas on the menu, and fries are included. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to try anything different on the menu, other than the eight meat torta– it was so heavenly delicious. I’m craving the delectable blend of eight meats right now. At first bite, I noticed the velvety taste of avocado, then the al dente texture of barbecued beef, then the smoky chorizo. Each bite gives you a different taste blend and mouth-feel from the eight meats, four cheeses, tomato, and lettuce. It’s hard to identify each ingredient, as they all blend together into a total heaven sent masterpiece.

Some of the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. The Salsa they gave us tasted like campbells stew, I had to ask If they gave us soup on accident. The tripas were fried to an awful hard crisp. The green salsa was just green jalapeño water with no flavor, the tamales look and tasted like the ones you buy in regular grocery store. Another Mexican restaurant with lazy practices.

Would not recommend to come here for breakfast. My bacon was not even cooked at all, literally still white. The tortillas tasted very plain and authentic. The rice was flavor-less and cold. Not worth paying for at all.

The value for the money is very high. They have a fantastic salsa bar and its BYOB. the staff is friendly but does not understand English well. overall a great bargain especially on Fridays for the $ 6.99 fajita special which is really enough for two meals.

This is a great place to eat. The food is good and the have just about every kind of Mexican food you want. Their menu has a lot of choices. A LOT! Seat yourself and salsa bar is open to you. BYOB, that’s right Bring Your Own Beer and they will put it on ice for you. Tacos are $ 1.25 and the all the other food is just as reasonably priced. If you ever want to add rice and beans or any side item they are an extra cost around $ 1 or $ 2. THEAGUASFRESCASAREAMAZING!!! I HADTHECOCONUTANDTHEMELON!!! The problems… I only have 2 complaints… The tripas were fried way too long… and i ordered the pastor tacos and i did not like them. I don’t know if the meat was bad or if they used a seasoning i didn’t like, either way they would not take it off my bill or offer another choice. There was no manager on duty at the time and i asked several people. I was very upset i was going to pay for something i didn’t like. At the very end, the waitress told me that the cashier was going to take it off my bill. Im glad someone understands customer service is a big deal.

The tortas are so good here. I went in last week in the morning and ordered an egg and chorizo torta. A torta is a Mexican sandwich that usually has your choice of meat, lettuce, tomato, mayo, queso fresco, on a delicious toasted Mexican bun. If you’ve never tried one, Dona Lencha is the place to do it. Their tortas come with a side of fries. I also have their lemonade which is freshly squeezed and perfectly sweetened. The service is always great. Even though the decorations are a tad tacky, it still has a homey feel to the place. It’s kind of like you walk in and know everything is like homemade and authentic. This place is a must if you want real Mexican food.

Had the fajita torta, quite good. Beef was tender and well flavored. Chock full of beans, lettuce, guac, mayo, etc. Served with a small side of fries, which were of little consequence. Portion size was large enough to share with my husband. Price: Around $ 7. Good, simple Mexican food(not Tex-mex).

The is mediocre, not bad. The size of the breakfast tacos though… It had to be 2 inches long. I have never seen any that short. At least it was only a dollar. Still a little much for a little taco

One Dollar Tacos… Let me say again…$ 1.00 tacos… They have a fine selection! I had 8 tacos and I was pretty full. The Lengua, Carnitas, Al Pastor, were very very good… the other tacos I had were also good, but not as good. The Sesos was bland, and that’s okay… I don’t eat brains, like ever, but they were on the menu and I had to try. I was feeling Zombie-ish! They also have sweetbread tacos, however, they were out of them today… I do hope to return, the place is reasonably priced, and the food is very good. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. The service was just okay, thank goodness we took my Hispanic co-worker so that all went smoothly. I think I might just go back… soon!

Alrighty, so by this point I’ve probably tried just about every breakfast taco joint parallel to both I35E and 183. That’s a lot to compare Dona Lencha to, but even so, it was without a doubt the most authentic taco shop I’ve yet been to, and it didn’t disappoint. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Brush up on your spanish folks, because Dona Lencha is as authentic as it gets. Combining a butchery with a sit-down food shop, Dona Lencha has quick and friendly service that’s close enough to 183 for a quick stop before work. No complaints. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Read this part slowly folks so that you can truly grasp what I’m saying here: ONE. DOLLAR. EACH. that’s it. one dollar for one breakfast taco. Have a look: That’s absolutely brilliant as far as a customer proposition goes, and while they’re not huge, compare that to the prices of these other nearby breakfast taco shops: La Mexicana Y El Gringo: $ 1.35 each Taco Stop: $ 1.80 each Rusty Taco: $ 2.00 each Luna’s Tortilla Factory: $ 1.50 each Tacodeli(Austin): $ 2.95 each So there you have it folks. Dona Lencha takes the taco as it were with the cheapest tacos around. Kudos. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? I suppose price is irrelevant if the tacos are garbage yeah? Fortunately, they’re not at all garbage, and while they weren’t the best I’ve ever had, they weren’t bad. Both the corn and flour tortilla options are great, ad I liked that the eggs were cooked in with the meat to order. My only gripe was the chorizo tasted a tad bit off and they skimped a bit on the ham. Besides that? Good stuff. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Again, not my favorite in town(that honor is contested between Taco Stop and La Mexicana Y El Gringo) but for $ 1.00? Go here at least once in your life. No Star Granted.
