My family and I have been going here for years. It’s the best place in Irving to get good Italian food for a decent price. Staff is friendly and service is usually pretty quick. I highly recommend the chicken alfredo.

My family and I have been coming here for years! The place has slowly declined during that time. I always order a pizza with pepperoni and black olives and have to ask for easy cheese and request they make it crispy. They used to use a different type of cheese a few years ago, but now they use a ton of some thick gummy sliced cheese. My pizza is always soft, so I began requesting that it be made crispy — which in turn means, «cook it all the way, please.» During our last two visits we have been sat in the newest remodeled area in the back… unfortunately, there has been little baby cockroaches on the wall where our table joins. I first saw one dead one on the sugar shaker, and then saw one climbing up the wall where I was sitting. Unfortunately, we will not be returning for quite some time.

Good food for the price. They have all kinds of Italian dishes. The steaks are good too but bring a chainsaw to cut them or else swallow down the beef without chewing all the way and let your plumbing sort it out. The sauce is very/too tangy for me and makes my eyes squint because I don’t eat the bread. I’m glad they don’t put sugar in it and make it worse. Too bad they don’t use the little(low acid) roma tomatoes. Then the sauce would be really good(more sweet like instead of tangy). If they just did that and used real butter on their rolls they would be a regular stop for me. Everything food-wise would be perfect. The atmosphere wouldn’t matter at that point. Irving could use more Italian eateries. They have great prices and very fast attentive ladies that deserve a full or better tip if you can afford it. The restaurant has been around since 18xx built by a man named Bill King or Mr King. They used to have an entry on the menu: ‘Peanut Butter and jelly sandwich…$ 15’ Don’t ask about it. The waitresses have been asked about it too many times and it annoys them(Understandably so) but I’m going to order one next time I go as long as the profit goes toward the tip. Let us know if you order that $ 15 sandwich. Enjoy every meal friends. ~Arf!

It’s been a long time since I had anything from Angelo’s…well…11 years at the most. So, me and a friend decided to go to Angelo’s for lunch in mid-March. While the lighting may be dark on the inside, the environment and the staff is very friendly, and to add, a vintage look on the inside. I ordered a custom-made pizza while Kris ordered the chicken alfredo. Their food was hot, fresh, quick, and delicious to the taste. Plus their prices are very reasonable. Definitely going there again sometime.

Mm. more like 2.5. Not the best ambiance, kinda dark, but it’s great if you want something more than fast food but still affordable. This location is an Irving institution. It’s been around for sooo many years, which is why it looks a bit old. However, that also gives it a little down to earth feel.

This place has a very welcoming vibe. The waitress was very attentive and we received are meals pretty quick. I ordered the golden baked lasagna and added meatballs. I must say, «it was very tasty». Will definitely order again. Omg the homemade ranch was perfect,

We came here with a group. The back room had no A/C. The service was slow. They supposedly knew we were coming then we were told they didn’t know. Came time for the bill and they didn’t get it right. Ugh! Not a great experience.

If you want good basic food especially Italian, this is the place. You can’t miss with your choices. Plenty of good food at reasonable prices. Great place for families. Don’t settle for less.

Anyone familiar with Irving probably knows about Angelo’s Italian restaurant. We’ve gone there for years because they have great Italian food. But tonight on a whim I ordered the 10 oz. filet minion and a baked potato. OMG. The filet was fork tender and cooked on the charcoal grill. Flavor incredible and cooked perfectly medium. And the potato was huge, with real bacon bits instead of the artificial stuff in most restaurants. So if you’ve never tried this instead of their Italian food, you’ve missed a good thing. And for seventeen bucks it rivals the best, and more expensive steak houses. I’ve find a new home for steak.

Slightly above average experience. Overall the price was reasonable, fast /friendly service and the food was good. The lasagna was thick and juicy! Lots of cheese!

Chicken Parmesan really McChicken with Spaghetti Sauce!!! The baked spaghetti and the lasagna looked fabulous, however, I had the Chicken Parm with high hopes and it was uneatable. The noodles were overcooked and the chicken was a fried chicken patty(ala McChicken from McDonalds). Never went back. It had a dirty ‘dive’ feel, not a quant homey feel as I think it was going for. The floors were gross, the tables were sticky and it smelled pretty bad. I asked for a straw because I didn’t want to put my mouth on the side of the glass because the whole place had an unclean feel to it. If it wasn’t for the people that was with me I would have walked right out.

Okay place to take family, not delicious but if you have a large group and aren’t set on gourmet and want to stay in Irving… go for it. Convenient and inexpensive. Stick with the pizza.

I figured I would write another review. The pizza is very good, has a very thin crunchy crust that is perfect. And that’s about where the greatness stops. The place is not up to date, no modern décor or really anything. And why is it so dark sometimes? To hide the fact that the food doesn’t look that great? The pasta sauce is watery and drowns the pasta almost completely. I’m sure the lasagna is reasonable, but that’s the best pasta they have. The steak has tons of fat on it and is just a greasy mess. The salads are awful, all white and brown/red. I always say I don’t want the damn salad, but they MUST give it to me. I could buy better toast from the freezer section. But despite this review, I still eat there. Because it’s super cheap for«Italian» and is close by. It’s reasonable, not the best. Things piss me off, but I like eating for cheap more.

Lets be honest. You don’t come here for the ambiance or even particularly for the food(unless its pizza) you come here because its dirt cheap. The house salad is probably a bit brown and the spaghetti is probably a bit watery, kind of like school cafeteria food. The meatballs though are delicious and so is the steak. So, you can find something you want and enjoy it. But, come on. I understand that the building has probably been paid for for 30 years and not putting in a bunch of fancy décor is necessary to keep it cheap, but fix your torn up booths and grab a box of spic n span or Fabuloso.

Lasagna for lunch and a pizza to go is nothing short of a blissful day! The salads as basic as it gets, but with the Italian dressing a wonderful warmup to the most excellent lasagna. Even with the new higher price its an unparalleled bargain. The garlic bread is a wonderfully toasted compliment to the cheesiest, tastiest golden baked lasagna. I think the tap water used for the sauces gives an almost dirty taste but in a very good way. And if you just can’t get enough cheese that’s what the side pizza is for. Sooo good, sooo cheap!

You can’t beat the price. I always tell first timers to order the #2. It’s a baked spaghetti casserole that comes with a salad, drink and a piece of toast. Everyone is so nice there.

Angelo’s: fail. Maybe the pizza is good but Angelo’s is not on my must return list. To start the restaurant décor old and filthy. My booth and table was sticky, and not from the summer heat. I requested Chicken Parm with ziti in lieu of spaghetti and was told we only have spaghetti. Really an Italian restaurant only serves one type of pasta, give me a break. Salad with blue cheese dressing was more like here’s a plate of wilted salad with something that was not even close to blue cheese dressing. My cannelloni was Meh, burnt on the edges, slathered in a nice thick layer of rubbery cheese, and truly forgettable at best. I loved the«one» slice of bread I was served as well. Strike three«we don’t take AMEX» Great old fashioned Italian comfort food, sorry no.

Really good for what it is. This is not real Italian food. They offer lasagna and filled pastas, but don’t have ricotta cheese on the premises to add to the white pizza. That pretty much says it all. But the food still tastes great, especially for the low price and large portions. It’s very casual. No need to dress up or get a sitter, just take the kids along. The seating is a little cramped, so much that they can’t accommodate a high-chair at the booths. The service is good and friendly. My only real complaint is that they don’t give you a bread basket. The meal really lacked some good crusty bread to sop up my sauce, and the«garlic toast» did not cut it.

Enjoyed lunch with a coworker. Angelo’s offers a couple of really cheap lunch specials. One is a 4.5 ounce sirloin with garlic bread, salad, and choice of pasta or potato for just over $ 5. My coworker had that, and his steak was perfectly prepared and I’m told very good. The second lunch special is spaghetti baked with tomato sauce and covered with mozzarella cheese, along with garlic bread and salad for just over $ 4. This was my choice. The pasta was nicely cooked but not homemade. The sauce was very tomato-y and not too bad, but I’ve had better. There was a generous portion of melted cheese covering the dish — YUM! The house Italian dressing on my salad was very good. For the price, the food was decent but not overwhelmingly great. The iced tea was good and the waitress did a good job of not letting me see the bottom of my glass. If I could give 3.5 stars I would, but I just can’t bring myself to award that fourth star. Still, if you’re in the area, hungry, and in a bit of a hurry Angelo’s offers a nice affordable option.
