The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

This place has a lot of tables and chairs and is a great place to study. I used to think Starbucks was expensive but apparently coffee bean is more expensive. Some of the drinks here like the latte for example are better though. Most of the employees here are really nice except this one girl who has this grumpy face and looks like she hates her job

Customer service was subpar. Hot chocolate was yummy. Atmosphere was great. Company was even better. I had a little Daddy/​daughter time the day we came here. I got to catch up with my Daddy and enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate. It was perfect.
However, the employees were not very friendly at all. A little bit of kindnesses goes a long way!

Not typical of me to write a poor review, however, this morning’s experience was necessary. I came in to get a quick coffee before work with my boyfriend. I ordered a medium coffee with 2 pumps of sugar free vanilla and a splash of soy milk in which I drink almost every day (not too complicated right?).. . Boyfriend just wanted a cup of water. There are about 4 others behind us. We order, I ask the lady helping me if she did indeed have sugar free vanilla and she said yes no problem blah blah blah.. . So now we wait.. . and wait.. . and we start to see everyone behind us get their way more complicated drinks one by one. So, no problem probably just a mistake. I ask the girl who helped me if she forgot about our drinks seeing as everyone has behind us has come and gone and we still didn’t have our coffee and water. (I mean, how long does it take to spout coffee into a cup?) She looks at me totally blank faced and says, «Umm what did you order?) I tell her again and she responds «Oh shoot! We just ran out of coffee! Would you like an Americano, it’s basically the same thing but just espresso and water?» okay #1, How do you run out of COFFEE during the MORNING when you are called COFFEE BEAN?!? hahaha two, it is most definitely not the same thing at all, and three, espresso is way harder on my stomach. But, I oblige and am now running 15 minutes late to work and still waiting for something that I did not originally want or pay for. Finally, the lady making the drinks yells out my drink, «Americano with vanilla!» lol «Is there soymilk in this with 2 pumps of sugar free vanilla?» Again, a blank stare.. . «You wanted soymilk?» NO. I’M JUST REPEATING MY ORDER FOR THE THIRD TIME SAYING WITH SOYMILK.. . but, I actually don’t want soymilk. She then proceeds to tell me that they don’t have soymilk but, they have soy powder. –_​_​– What the heck, why didn’t the girl who originally took AND FORGOT my order tell me originally that they didn’t have soymilk?! I decide to just leave. I take my drink and walk out irritated and decide to taste my espresso and water and pretend it’s the coffee I wanted and low and behold, the drink tastes like it is half sugar. There is 100% no way that there was only 2 pumps of syrup let alone sugar free. So now I’m 20 minutes late to work with a drink that contains ZERO of the ingredients I ordered. No apologizing from the staff.. . just a bunch of blank stares from everyone. I will never come back to this location. I recommend your team works on their listening skills and customer service handling because it was not a great way to start the morning.

This Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is excellent. There’s also a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf inside Ralphs right next door, but this location offers wayyyy more.
The staff here is always friendly and offering different recommendations. I tried the cookie butter latte last time, which was pretty good. I also love their outdoor seating area. I love bringing my dog and enjoying a nice latte on weekend mornings here.

This is a great place to study and work. I am so sad that I am JUST finding out about it. I am glad I found it though. My husband and I went here today to work. There were not that many people (perhaps because folks are still not back to school/​work). We went in at 12:00 p.m. which is usually the lunch rush hour. All the seats have outlets at the bottom which is always a plus. Additionally, their wifi is pretty fast. Parking can be cumbersome but there is a larger Ralphs parking lot in the back.
The people who work here seemed to be dedicated to their jobs of serving the customers. There was some sort of an audit going on today and I overheard the two auditors talking about the high quality of products and services they strive to offer. I love how much attention to detail when into their review and felt cared for.
Some of their items are a bit pricier than Starbucks but I am yet to find a Starbucks in Irvine where you can sit and work.

Good seating, good staff, plenty of accessible outlets. 4 stars for the coffee, but that’s only a personal preference. Can’t go wrong with the tea.

There is a long padded bench along one wall with small two seater tables spread out along the length of it. It’s a nice set up as those could be individual tables or all pushed together for a big group and who doesn’t like to sit on benches with padded seat cushions and backs THere are outlets below the bench behind your legs next to each 2 seater table, though you might not realize it as they are kind of hard to see once you sit down. There is free wifi with no code. The bulletin board has posted thank you’d from local schools for donated coffee and donated school supplies so they are an active part of the surrounding community and supportive of education. Add to the mix that they serve tasty coffee and you really can’t miss!
I popped in when I was in Irvine over Halloween weekend for a dance competition and enjoyed a dark chocolate latte. I have to be honest, we don’t have Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf stores back in Bakersfield so I spend most of my time in Starbucks stores. The dark chocolate latte here at Coffee Bean is hands down my favorite expresso drink anywhere. The best part is that it is so sweet I don’t need to add any sugar or artificial sweeteners and it is super creamy. I’m too scared to actually check the nutritional information to see how many calories one of these babies is, but I assure you it is worth every calorie!

Great service at this location. Every time I come the friendliest people are working. I decided to try a sugar free vanilla iced coffee and it was sweeter than I had anticipated. When I went up to pay for a refill of something else they offered to replace the drink at no charge. Would highly recommend this spot!

This is the location next to Jamba Juice, across the street from the auto shop. To get into the parking lot is weird if you’re coming from south end of Harvard — you have to make a bunch of U-​turns no matter which entrance you use. Five stars is for the location and baristas. If I had to rate the coffee, I agree with Mayra — Coffee Bean does not have the best coffee. Their ice blended drinks are pretty bad. Their «syrups» (or flavors) are made with powders, so if they don’t mix it well, the drink tastes even worse. However, their teas are not bad.
What I like at CBTL is the matcha latte. I recommend getting it hot in the morning :)
There’s another CBTL inside Ralph’s on the other side of the plaza if this one gets busy. They have plenty of seating if you need a place to study or work. There are a few tables outside as well.

Coffee was cold and old. And are employees supposed to open the aluminum foil wrapped coffee beans with their teeth??? That doesn’t seem right to me.

I was here two days ago — too much work to do and stayed till close.
During my stay– I overheard the training instructions for a new employee — in short, a lot… A LOT of effort goes into the culture here, and that’s to be friendly yet efficient at the same time.
The staff here is very friendly and courteous — they even know my name which is a nice touch considering I’m not a regular and come by sporadically.

I love love love coffee bean… But… I’ve been disappointed by this one several times. I always order the cookies and cream ice blended and the last 4 times I’ve visited, they tell me they are out of cookies. I think once I went twice within the same week and thought, «oh they probably have the cookies by now» but nope… Wonder if I go in today, will they have it?

Happy hour 3−5pm on their blended drinks, they’re half price.
Private parking lot and they’re right next to flame broiler.
Short review, but it’s coffee bean. They’re awesome :) glad they have the almond coconut milk.

So this place can be found in the Ralph’s plaza, but closer to the Shell Gas station side. I would recommend turning in that street between Shell and that plaza. I am a huge coffee bean fan, and compared to other chains, I would rather have a latte here. This place is small, but they have enough workers to guarantee you get your drink in a timely matter. I’m assuming they have waves where service gets super busy or when service gets super slow.
I orders a Hot Mocha Latte, and it is consistent to other coffee beans so I think they did a great job. I’m not comparing the taste to other well-​known coffee shops because that wouldn’t be fair in my opinion because we can think of other better tasting coffee, but I have to admit the lattes here for me are better than other places.
Place is clean and well maintained and the service was great.

The mexican chocolate latte was ok. I’ve had better. I should’ve stick with my usual hazelnut latte (1 star for the well-​blended iceblend, esp. when compared to SBUX’s inconsistency), but, hey, sometimes you’ve got to venture out and try something new, right? (No… this is what happens).
In any regards, the service was friendly and super fast (2 stars). The place was quiet, so if you want to study, this is a great little café to go and focus.

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet! My wife and I have been coming here for a long time… ever since before we were even married, in fact. We found it thanks to Unilocal – we were just looking for a place with wifi to kill some time, but we ended up finding our new favorite coffee shop.
In a city overrun by chain coffee shops with snobby baristas and old-​lady-​diarrhea coffee, Paradocs is a real treat. The owner/​barista always greets us in a very warm and friendly manner, and provides such wonderful, personable service that I feel like I’m over at a friend’s house instead of a İrvine coffee shop.
Everything we’ve tried, from hot and iced drinks to sandwiches, soups, and baked goodies, was delicious. As a lactose intolerant customer, I really appreciate the option to get milk instead of cream in my drink. And as a professionally trained pastry chef, I feel qualified to say their pastries are legit.
A tip: if you have your heart set on a specific nom, get there early. Since everything is made fresh daily, they do sometimes run out of things later in the day. But even that’s not entirely a bad thing, since it gives you the option to try something new :)

Im addicted to coffee, so go figure. I really like their blended drinks, especially the sugar free ones.
They also offer a lot of tasty holiday drinks, like the Toffee Nut, which is my absolute favorite.
Nice location, decent amount of seating, free wifi, and fast service.

Good place to work and study. Great staff. I think it is a lot better than starbucks. Less crowded. Many snacks to buy.
And yeah great drinks they offer.

I don’t particularly love this location because the seating is pretty limited and the tables are way too close to each other. However the staff is usually pretty friendly and the drinks they make are consistent and this is probably the only coffee bean I know of that serves oatmeal and yogurt so that’s a plus.
I also don’t like their automatic restroom door — it closes really slowly and I know not to pull but it gets annoying standing there waiting for it to close.
They have a nice outside patio so it kind of makes up for the limited seating inside.
Overall I choose coffee bean over starbucks just cause they have a wider tea selection and in my opinion their drinks are creamier and tastier but can be also sweeter as well. Their pastries are pretty good as well — my favorite are the pepper jack cheese croissant, chocolate muffin and espresso vanilla bean scone.

Inconsistent!
I ordered a small toffee nut ice blended drink because it had just come back from a 10 month hiatus and my friend and I were like waiting for it oh so dearly. I ordered my first drink and then went to sit with a friend in the seat to talk. I tried it and it wasn’t as sweet as before, like I felt something was missing but I didn’t know what exactly. My friend got his and he immediately got hooked. So I was a little confused. I decided to get a second one and then that’s where the love that I had, the nostalgic memories there, came and I loved it. I remembered why my friend and I had raved about it so much. Their toffee nut is something else– so if you’re ever in the area in the winter time, TRY IT OUT! It may be too sweet if you can’t handle, but for me, it’s perfect!
However excellent and friendly service and it was ALL DRESSED UP FOR THE HOLIDAYS.
Their restrooms are a bit hard to use. The door, for some unknown reason must go all the way out before coming back in. Idk.
It’s in the back of the plaza if you cannot find it.
