Dr wu was great.
Knowledgeable and kind.
The appointment was for my tween-​aged son. she knew how to talk with him about his eye condition and made him feel very comfortable.
What i appreciated most was she and her staff didn’t try to sway us to purchase anything or upgrade our appointment. She simply educated us how we can help prevent my son from having to wear glasses and that made it very easy. .other places usually try to upgrade our appointment without informing us the procedures would be an upcharge (dilating and other things).
The front desk gal was so cute. Cheerful and helpful. It was our fussy time in and they made us feel so comfortable.
And on our way out, a young teen client of theirs spoke to us about a special procedure she wears in the evening that has helped dramatically improve her vision and helped slow the change in her prescription. I’ll look into it a little more. .but that just helped validate that we made the right decision to choose their office.

They asked me pay cash because they can’t verified my ins on my service day. Then once I try to claim my ins by myself and ask for diagnosis report, the lady said oh we are claim for you now. If I don’t ask, u want to get double charge?

Very poor experience, made a appointment with Dr Wu, but found out later that she is almost never there. She hires these new grads to do the exams. The very young looking optometrist mixed up my two kids prescription and created some confusion. The worst is the up-​sale from the manager. She made it sounds like by not getting upgraded lenses and UV protection coating, we were horrible parents. We also found the same frames elsewhere for much less. Will inform all our friends and family to avoid this place like plague.

Very friendly staff and Dr. Tran was great. I was in and out in less than an hour. This was my first visit and I will come back again.

DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to be upsold by Dr. Wu and belittled by their receptionist. My child came in for an appointment for an eye exam since his last was 1 year ago. After Dr. Wu went thru the motions of the exam and checking my child’s current glasses, she recommended that he needed new glasses. Apparently, my child’s vision had gotten worse than what his current glasses are prescribed for. Of course we believed her and started the process of picking out new frames and lenses. We got his current prescription from her after we decided we wanted to shop around for other frames (this did not make the b*tichy front desk lady happy). She started giving us the full court press about how we needed to get the glasses here and now. Sorry lady, doesn’t work with me.
We walked out. When we got home, we compared her current prescription to my child’s old prescription and lo and behold it was exactly the same. So basically she wanted us to get a new pair of glasses with the same prescription as my child’s current one. Shame shame shame!!!

Dr Thai Tran is super friendly and does his best job in getting you the right prescription that you need. I recommend this optometry for their great service.

Thai Tran is an exceptional Doctor! I’ve been to several optometrist offices and this is by far one of the greatest — excellent service and they make the entire process extremely seamless. I highly recommend this location and they conveniently have one in Jamboree too:

I have been coming to Spectrum Optometry (Walnut and Diamond Jamboree locations) since 2012.
Doctors: Dr. Wu and Dr. Tran have been great! I saw Dr. Wu from 2012 — 2014 and this year I saw Dr. Tran for the first time. Both of them offer very high-​quality medical advice — from checking your prescription, contact lens fitting, dry eyes, etc. The eye exams were comprehensive and the doctors are very accommodating to your individual needs. Overall, the quality of eye care is very good!
Glasses and contacts: They carry the latest contact lenses on the market, so the selection is good (from cheaper lenses to the expensive top of the line dailies) to cater to your budget. They also have a large selection of eyewear (glasses frames).
Staff: The staff are really nice and accommodating. I think the negative reviews about bad customer service in the past have occurred, but in my most recent visit, it has improved tremendously. I interacted with Vickie, Nerma and Tiffany and they have all been very nice and accommodating in scheduling appointments and handling any insurance questions.
Overall: Overall, I would rate them 4.5 out of 5 stars! Great eye doctors who provide high-​quality vision services, large selection of contact lenses and glasses and nice staff. If you need quality eye care and service in Irvine, I would recommend this place!
Bonus: 他们会说中文。English and Mandarin Chinese language services. They also offer services in Mandarin Chinese for guests who need it.

So much better than last year! I go here every 2 years, and it seems as if the team changes. Dr. Tran was very friendly, and the staff were helpful and kind! They have people who speak Chinese, Vietnamese and of course English! Very attentive ^^.

I have had bad experiences with my previous optometrist so I decided to try this place out. Very large selection of glasses. I was pretty impressed with the selection. Everything went well! Dr. Thai Tran was great. Made me feel really comfortable. I really like him! Tracy was great helping me out with everything.
–1 star only because I paid close too $ 400 and my glasses is supposed to take about a week or two to come in. I wish it was faster. Lenscrafter costs just about that much with a free eye exam and you get the glasses the same day. Kind of made me regret not going to Lenscrafter in that I really wanted my glasses asap.

I would normally get assisted right away, but I sat by the blind spot of the receptionist so they couldn’t tell if I got helped or not. Otherwise the experience was good.
I don’t remember the name of the receptionist but he helped me figure out my USHIP perks. Ended up doing a (free!) eye exam, which was super relaxed thanks to Vicky.
Dr. Tran was thorough and patient. Helped update my new prescription so that I wouldn’t have to use my old one (that was mis-​prescribed a few point-​something degrees higher than what I had this time). Talked to me about Lasik, which I am considering coming back for in the future.

I have been going to Dr Tran at Spectrum Optometry for 2 years now. Extremely satisfied with the quality of the service and customer experience. Getting an appointment is never a headache and the follow up is superb.

I was recommended to come to Spectrum Optometry by my insurance. I knew I was going to get a new pair of glasses so, I wanted to make sure the place I chose had an excellent selection of frames.
Not only do they have an excellent selection of frames, but they have 2 locations that carry completely different brands! I was very satisfied with the selection! The front desk staff were more than helpful at both locations and they were always very caring, professional and polite!
Dr. Tran was my optometrist, and really went above and beyond to make sure that my prescription was perfect for my eyes. Not only did he take his time with me, but also special ordered a trial pair of toric lenses for me.
I am extremely satisfied with my purchases at Spectrum Optometry, and will continue doing business with them!

I’ve been coming to Spectrum Optometry for 4 years now and service is great every time ! The wait time is minimal (pretty much zero), they accept a number of insurances, and the staff is friendly and professional.
Dr. Thai Tran is great ! He’s extremely laidback and friendly. His conversations are easy-​going and comfortable. Having your eyes checked by him doesn’t feel like being in a doctor’s office at all.
Chris and Vicki are great ! Chris has been an employee since I started going there — he’s quick and thorough, and very nice. He’ll give you the best options, but give you all the numbers so you can decide for yourself. Vicki is newer, but she’s a great conversationalist. She makes the exams easier and quicker to get through. She’s also a UCI graduate so if there’s anything you want to know, she’s your girl.

I’ve been going here for the past 3 years. When I had my very first exam, they were patient with me as I peppered them with questions. I since have had my prescription change dramatically several times, and every visit has been quick and easy. The doctors there are available to answer any questions you may have. Attendants are timely and efficient.
I just went back to try contact lenses for the first time. Dr. Tran was the doctor who helped me. He was very professional and friendly. Pradeep helped trained me in how to use contacts (put them in, take them out, etc.). He sat patiently as I tried and tried again for about 45 minutes before I successfully inserted the contacts.
I now live in a different city, but I still come to this office for all optometry appointments. They also are moderately priced, and they take most insurance plans.

During my initial consultation, I had a female optometrist. She was patient and knowledgeable. I have had some seriously bad eye doctor experiences before, but I was impressed with the professionalism here.
Considering I had avoided optometrists for years, I was relieved that as I asked my one million questions, I never felt rushed. The team even showed patience when teaching me how to insert my contacts (first time ever wearing them). I loved the frames I received, and the personality of the young man that assisted me in selecting them.
I call to order my contact RX now as needed, and it arrives to the office quickly for my pick-​up. I usually check out the new styles of frames and sunglasses each time I pick them up:)

I’ve been coming here for years due to the professional and organized staff. I like to be in and out due to my busy schedule, and they have all my records on hand. This seems like a no brainer, but I’ve been to other places where they can’t find your old data or take forever to look it up.
Dr. Tran was receptive to my needs and thorough in his evaluation and recommendations. He was personable and professional. Chris helped me with my new glasses and reordering contacts without any issues. They’ve been good on follow up as well when my items are ready, unlike some other places.

My friends suggest this place to me before. It is my first time to go there and i have no idea about insurance stuffs. i told them i am a student of UCI and they helped me to check my insurance quickly and found my insurance for me! It is easy to make appointment, just filled some paper and thats all.
Just Went here today and Dr Tran gave me good advices about my soft contact！i have terrible astigmatism, Dr. Tran is knowledgable and answered all my questions. He is really kind and friendly. Tracy is a very kind lady and explained my insurance patiently to me. Thanks for everyone who helped me in here! I finally got my contact now~

This review is for the superb customer service we received from Chris N. I went to 3 other optometry places to get my sunglasses adjusted and none of them could adjust them correctly.
Chris is extremely knowledgeable with frame adjustments. He took one look at my sunglasses and saw the problem. After several adjustments he was able to make them look level and straight.
I tried to give him a tip for his services and he wouldn’t accept it. Great service will definitely be back!

I went to get my very first eye exam here. I saw Dr. Tran and he made me feel very comfortable. Extremely friendly and very knowledgeable man. The place had a good selection of glasses and staff were helpful in assisting me. I would recommend anyone to go here.
