Nara Optometry

So many of you fellow Asians will relate to this issue:
We get a pair of amazing sunglasses that look fabulous on the model, the rack, and everything but our faces. Alas, having no/​little nose bridge can be quite a bummer…
But stress no more! Nara optometry is your answer!
I came today to get some clips on my wayfarers…$ 30 and 15 minutes later I was out the door with sunglasses that I’ve wanted for forever… and they fit!
Goodbye cheek creases! Goodbye temple migraines!

Wonderful place with a great selection of frames to fit eveybodies needs. Friendly staff and very accomodating. I was helped by Eric! Very knowledgeable and did a great job in customizing my Oakleys to fit my facial profile by adding nose pads to a set of frames that didn’t come with them, alleviated the problem of glasses constantly slipping down my nose. I highly recommend this fine establishment! A++++++++++ I hope this review will help anybody reading it!

Very good customer service. Like that they are informative and have a variety of options available. They have a very good selection of glasses and variety of contacts available. The pricing is moderate. With most optometrists they have a selection of glasses in the different price ranges. Would recommend for those in the area looking for a place that has good variety and various pricing it’s the place to go.

Received such great and friendly service. The optician was so patient and so helpful in picking frames with me. There were so many cute frames to choose from. The office is so nice and clean. Will definitely be coming back.

Cursed was I with an Asian nose… which means I have no bridge… which meant I could not wear those fashionable looking plastic frames that my students told me I should buy and wear.
But I could not find any plastic frames that I could wear comfortably… without my eyelashes brushing against the glass… or my cheekbones bearing all the weight, leaving oily grease marks on the bottom… or the glasses falling down my face every second, leaving me staring at the top rim of the glasses, impeding my vision further.
Cursed I was until I discovered that Nara Optometry will add nose pads for a mere $ 20!
I bought a pair of plastic framed glasses from Costco, knowing that they did not fit quite properly because of my Asian nose. I bought them anyway because I loved the way they looked on my face; I bought them for the sake of my vanity. But after wearing them for a whole day, it became a torturous experience. I grew sad because I thought I would have to resort to wearing those practical metal frames because metal frames are the only ones that have nose pads that hold the glasses in place, with the rare exception of a few others.
Upon doing some research online about possible remedies for this problem (I was determined to wear those plastic frames, darn it!) someone wrote about Nara Optometry that could fix the problem by adding professional looking nose pads onto plastic frames. I had to look into this!
I brought my glasses to Nara yesterday afternoon, and it took them one day to attach nose pads. I picked them up today, and they look perfect! They made it look like the nose pads came with the original pair of glasses I bought! And when I am wearing them, I don’t really see the nose pads, and the glasses fit perfectly on my face, and they feel comfortable. This is professionally done and I LOVE THEM ~ !!!
Hence, no longer am I cursed, but blessed… blessed indeed. THANK YOU, NARA OPTOMETRY ~ !!!

Woohoo! As good as it gets! I have been a loyal customer since 2005 and have never bother to look for another optometry. That’s 8 years of excellent customer service from Angie, Peter and David and now in Irvine. I have referred several of my coworker and they have many compliment of the stores as well. They have a wide range of selection ranging from Tag Heur, D&G, Prada, Oliver people and my favorite one Salt. I used to travel to 25 min from the first store and now 5 min away! What a treat for residents of Irvine to have this store just next to Trader’s Joe and Sushi Boy. Glad and thrill that Nara is here in Town. I am looking forward to many more years of getting my glasses with your store. Thank you to the Manager Peter and for all the excellent attention from your staffs! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I’ve been a customer here since around 2008 at the Garden Grove location store. This is their new Irvine location that I’ve started going to since my old pal Peter has transferred here. The manager Peter has been taking care of getting me glasses for over five years now. The glasses selection here is really nice. There’s a lot of made in Japan frames here that you can’t find your typical mall store variety such as salt and kio yamato. They also have the typical Prada, D&G, and Oliver Peoples found in the mall. More importantly, they’re so nice and as a customer they really treat you like family. None of that pushy «oh you should get this amazing 200 dollar coating» business. And the prices are very reasonable as well. I highly recommend anyone looking for glasses to stop by and ask for Peter. He’ll definitely take care of you.

This place is awesome! Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Peter helped me picking a new frame and their prices are very reasonable. I had my eye exam, frames, lenses all done at this place and everything went smooth.

Although the Irvine location is new, i’ve been going to Nara for probably 4 – 5 years now. I’ve always lived in Irvine and gone all the way to the Nara in Garden Grove because of Peter and his excellent service. When i heard that they had opened an Irvine location, and that Peter was there, i knew i wouldn’t have any problems and would love this location!
Of course, Peter was fantastic as always. The doctor was excellent as well! The doctor at the Garden Grove location was always great, but i would say i had an even better experience with the doctor at the Irvine location. Sorry i don’t remember his name, as it was my first time with him, but he was very friendly and helpful. He made me feel very comfortable, so i was able to discuss everything i needed to and not feel rushed.
Nara helped me order Acuvue Oasys contacts, which only took 1 day to arrive, which was amazing. I can’t say enough good things about this place.
