These reviews can’t be for real. The place is OK at best. I lived in New York and don’t recall any bagel places ever microwaving the eggs. The coffee was also not too great. If you want a good bagel in OC, I would highly recommend bagels n brew.

People say this is the best bagel in town! Well, considering that Irvine has exactly two bagel shops, they are probably right. I picked up a baker’s dozen for work this morning and the bagels were very good. Freshly baked with a nice crust and a soft, pillowy center. Everyone enjoyed them. They have a great selection of flavors and I prefer the texture of these bagels over Bruegger’s. So there you have it. The best bagels in town.

Listen. If you want the best bagels in Orange County, the only option is east coast! The staff is friendly and makes you feel like a regular, even if you only come in a couple of times a year. The bagels themselves, are just simply the best! Great outer shell, a little crunchy if you get it toasted, but the inside… oh, the inside is so soft and slightly chewy, it forces you to savor every bite! Their bagel sandwiches look absolutely delicious(though, I have never had one!!). The only downside of bagels that good are the lines. During peak hours 7 – 8:30, lines can get a little long at times, but trust me, they are worth the wait!

East Coast Bagels is completely out of my way to work, but I love their bagels — and so does my entire office! I’m asked to bring them every time we celebrate a birthday or just for fun. I get a variety each time, and they are doughy, warm and so, so good. Best bagel place in the Irvine/Tustin area. Line is often out the door in the morning but it moves fast.

I’ve been coming here since High School but East Coast Bagel has been around for ages and is a staple in this shopping area. The same 3 guys have been working here for as long as I can remember and are always busting their asses off so mad respect to the whole crew there. Their Pizza Bagel is off the hook, I usually get it with Garlic Cream Cheese, but everything I’ve had here is great. Line goes out the door on weekend mornings so that pretty much speaks for itself. No comparison to Einsteins or Breuggers, the bagels here are easily far superior and much more authentic to anyone with taste buds.

I like big bagels and I cannot lie… Sir mix a lot would have sang about this place too if he only knew. They are very fast, I’m not exactly sure how toasters can work that fast not why I don’t have one in my home. They are nice and put lots of cream cheese on my bagel for me!

Probably one of the best bagel places for specialty bagel sandwiches! I love the lox bagel, they are pretty generous with the components. Im an Einsteins fan and this place actually tops them there.

U can’t sleep well with an empty stomach, that’s why I got up this early and drove 4 miles for a bagel, I luv the Asiago cheese simply with jalapeño cheese. And this time, I tried the cinnamon twist, it was beyond my expectation, I never know it could be that good, I was plan to save this as my daughter’s breakfast, but unfortunately, I ate them all while I was heading home

If this was a bagel spot in NJ or NY I’d give it 3 stars, but because this is Southern Cali, «East Coast Bagels» gets a 4 star. One of the things I miss most about home is my weekend bagel fix. I miss my cream cheese and lox– that comes with plump capers, red onion and a thick juicy tomato slice by default. It’s just different but hey, ECB helps the cravings until I’m back visiting my folks in NJ again. This spot is definitely the best I’ve had in Orange County since moving here. And to be fair, it’s like comparing pizza to NY. You simply can’t. Their bagels here are fresh and there’s a good variety. They have bialys! Which I was stoked to see my first time upon entering. ECB has the classic flavors like sesame, everything, garlic etc. They also make trendy types of bagels like French toast and blueberry. Bagels are $ 1.09 each and if you add cream cheese about $ 3.00. They offer breakfast sandwiches and other items on their menu I have yet to try. I’ve only bought a bakers dozen(13) and individual bagel with spread before. I usually get a whole wheat everything bagel with cream cheese or a cinnamon raisin with strawberry cream cheese + a coffee on the side. They also sell their own cream cheeses on the side. This place isn’t five star because of the coffee station, 5 star bagel standard and cashier. The person working the cashier needs to be quick when you’re doing fast business like this. I recommend they sharpen up the cashier’s money handle otherwise service is pretty good here. You can’t critique the wait when they are simply just really busy. The coffee station sometimes runs low on milk and coffee and is a little messy with sugar packets and spills. Tip– get here early on the weekends or expect a wait even for a single toasted bagel. Sometimes they run out of everything bagels by noon.

We came here for a quick breakfast before work. There was only one guy taking orders and making the bagels and one guy making bagels in the back. Line to the door. I ordered a jalapeño cheese bagel with egg/cheese/sausage. Egg seemed like it was cooked and then microwaved. Bagel didn’t seem as fresh as other places I’ve had. Price was 4.50. Overall it was just okay. If I was in a pinch and had to get a bagel sandwich quickly I would come again but if I had a craving for it and had time to wait would go to Shirley’s in Costa Mesa.

I love this place and it’s always been our go to place for all our bagels for breakfast, and bagels at the workplace needs. (Their bagels get a 5 star from me, how they looked upon a homeless person gives them a 2 star.) After today this might not be the place for us. I don’t appreciate the attitude of one of the servers there, don’t get me wrong he is nice to all shoppers(including me) except he seems to look down on the homeless, especially the one that came in for a bite this morning! I purchased a meal for this homeless person, and asked the cashier to take his order so the man could select his choice of bagel, this is when the other worker steps in and asks me to take the homeless person’s meal outside! Because his«boss» asked him not to let the homeless person inside the shop!!! After this incident I’m not sure if I’ll come back. This is why the world has problems, no love for those that are down in their luck. I guess from now on I’ll go to Bruegger’s bagels or Einstein bagels.

Finally get to try East Coast Bagel after my friend kept telling me it was the BEST bagel in town. Well. It’s good because it’s fresh. The best? I am not sure. Maybe we didn’t order the right thing. Hubby had the ham and egg on a scored garlic and I had the pizza with cream cheese. They were good, but didn’t wow us. There seemed to be trends in what people eat. Kids– pizza bagel with cream cheese. 20−30s– breakfast sandwich. The seasoned– egg bagel.

This place has become my one stop bagel spot in Irvine. Inside, they have a good assortment of bagels on display. My favorites are the Cheesy Jalapeño and the Pizza Bagels. The breakfast bagel sandwiches here is popular. They’re served on a freshly baked bagel of your choice. I normally order the west coast style bagel. Its omelet, ham, green bell peppers, onions, jalapeño and cheddar. Also, I add a little tapatio sauce for some flavor. The ingredients may sound simple, but everything was hot, hearty, and delicious! I’d like to throw in the word«meaty» because it packed ham! When making your breakfast bagel sandwich, and you can’t decide what’s a good pairing for your choice bagel? These guys can recommend something for you because they are that good. Just don’t overthink what you want in it, that will cause the line behind you to grow. I like how they make your sandwiches, it’s neat and organized to ensure you have an awesome breakfast/brunch experience.

I don’t know bagels. I’m offering this review humbly knowing that I don’t know bagels. I learned about bagels from the OC. not the place, but the show. Yes I know that this place is in the OC which I think just makes it even more fitting. I know that if Sandy really existed, he would love this place. He would come here for his daily supply after surfing. I can almost hear him say«Schmear me!» Be warned. It’s warm, it’s gooood, it will get all over the place and you won’t be able to stop at just one. You’ve been warned.

We got: 1. Lox which is smoke salmon, cream cheese, capers, and red onions on a jalepeno bagel; and 2. Pizza bagel with veggie cream cheese, avocado, tomato and onion. It was about $ 12. We ordered on the phone which was cool bc we got to skip the line. We have an infant so it took some time for us to eat the bagel. I wish it was hot! I imagine it would’ve tasted much better. All in all, the bagels were fresh and soft. Customer service was excellent. We will be back!

Good people behind the work — friendly and down to earth– specifically the two guys every morning. They get 5 stars. I’m not sure if they are the owners, or perhaps it’s ran by others — I usually see an elderly Chinese woman who comes in and out, says nothing and goes to the back. If she is the owner, she ought to say hi or greet the customers. As a NY native, the bagels aren’t bad — I especially prefer the Lox with everything — it could be better toasted and more generous with the salmon and less on the onions. Lox bagels in NY are packed thicker with generous cuts of salmon and salmon cream cheese, and toasted to perfection. If they offered free wifi I’d give them 4 stars, until then I bite my tongue and give them 3 for now. Work on that wifi boys and I’ll revise my review!

Delicious bagels and bagel sandwiches for not too much money! Finally tried it and now I’m pleased I don’t have to drive at least 10 miles to get my B FAST on. All the bagel flavors are fresh and tasty, especially the scored garlic… yum! Bagel egg sandwiches are the perfect early riser meal for the hungry-but-cant-eat-my-weight-in-eggs days, and I’m already craving one again. The only downside is it took them 12 minutes to make my Ranchero egg sandwich and called 2 – 3 numbers before mine. It was super tasty but if it was that much struggle maybe I’ll just order something else next time… Coffee self-serve was delicious, hot, and a good value. Shared parking can be a pain come before 9(especially Saturday) to get your order in. It’s also very warm inside, either sit by the door or outside to prevent sweat beads. If you normally have hot flashes, yeah you’re going to have a problem. Score, 3.5 I’ll be back and I’m sure they’ll improve. Cash and credit cards. No WiFi… honestly the shop is quite small and people already stay long enough!

It’s tough for me because I’ve lived in New Jersey before so I’ve had really good bagels in NJ and NY. Bagel culture is a big deal on the East Coast and I feel like the West Coast is more about donuts. East Coast Bagel, I thought with the name that I’d be getting some legit bagels but it is not the same. Maybe it’s like they say, it’s all about the water. The bagels here didn’t have the same density and crunch that I’m used to. Service was nice and quick, and there is a large selection of types of bagels, but for quality, I’m not a fan. I had a breakfast bagel sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese. I’m accustomed to a real over-medium cooked egg but here you get the scrambled fake kinda egg that you would get at a McDonalds or hotel breakfast. The sausage patty was pretty small so didn’t cover the size of the egg or bagel. Food came out quick and it’s probably because this is prepared food. I’ve had bagels that are a lot better and I’ve had a lot better in terms of breakfast sandwiches at a bagel place.
