Mostly everytime I order from here there is a problem when I get home my pizza order is messed up. I call and get an answer of I don’t know what happened. I think they have bad customer service. This has happened most of the time and it’s frustrating. I’ve given them many chances to change this problem but apparently the people working there don’t care. I just want to make people aware of my issue hoping this helps other people who order.

It seems that 4 out of 5 times I order my food they get it wrong. They either drop my pizza on the floor or give me the wrong pizza or don’t give me extra sauce when I ask for it and when I call back they tell me they did and it is not on the pizza. I don’t have many options for good pizza around here, but please get better at your service. Not quantity, but quality. I pay for the quality but I am not receiving it. Last chance before I give up for good.

Stopped in late Saturday night to host some family that had been driving all day. There were 1 or 2 families enjoying the weekend as well. The staff was attentive(we were almost the only people in there). Ordered some gorgonzola chips(delish, don’t miss out) and a pepperoni and sausage pizza. Well, we left with nothing, it was delicious and everyone seemed to have room for one more slice. I’ll definitely order some takeout next to see how that goes…

Stay away! The owner markets this place as family friendly but he has the filthiest mouth I’ve ever encountered. He’s rude, dishonest, and unscrupulous. He curses at employees during business hours in front of other customers. The pizza is not worth the prices charged. He violates federal and state labor laws with no remorse and wouldn’t even have the air conditioning fixed in the restaurant during 110 degree summer weather until another customer complained and wrote a bad review on another website. If you knew the things that go on behind the scenes, you’d ask for this place to be shut down PERMANENTLY! Don’t waste your time or money here. Go to Gina’s Pizza in Irmo. The service is always great and the owner is genuinely a nice person without a hidden agenda.

Justin R is not an idiot, Cherie R and Taylor S are correct!!! This pizza is super disappointing and super overrated. I’m from NYC and so is my wife and her mother. So we know real pizza. Lets start with what they call garlic knots, see the photos. 1st of all the kid on the phone said a large order of garlic knots is 10, I got 7. I got some B to the S excuse that it’s whatever looks close to a large. That’s an F, you find ur own definition for that letter. As you can see(look at the photo) they’re not real knots and they soak this undercooked bread in garlic butter. Disgusting and not truly garlic knots. Now the thing that is they’re version of pizza, ok not the worst, but definitely not good. It’s about a C-minus to D. The pizza looks legit but what lies beneath is a over chewy crust that could have used extra time in the oven. A lot of people who I know and I thought I could trust, told me it was good to really good. It’s not unless you never had real pizza or have no taste. I don’t think a place could have so many off nights, based on other negative reviews and the b.s. Excuse I got, I’m never going to waste my money again. If I could give it less stars I would, and the place wasn’t even packed. If you want to have real good pizza and Knots go to Rays in Lexington or Dano’s in Columbia if you don’t mind the drive, they’re worth it. Btw to those of you who want to defend Tonellas. DON’T CAREABOUTYOUROPINION!!! Obviously you don’t know what good is. Also I ordered a large plain cheese and knots because that’s how you measure a real pizzeria. If you’re from The north east, DON’T BOTHER!!!

We stopped in here one evening after buying a motorcycle from a local dealer. It came highly recommended and I can definitely see why! They had a buy one, get one half off dinner special running(any of their pasta dishes) but I chose to go with a trusted favorite — pizza. I prefer a pizza with a thinner crust, so this was 100% up my alley. Honestly, if I had to make one complaint, it would be that there were too many toppings(which sounds silly, I know, but there were so many!). The meat was piled high! I also had their Caprese. I have to be honest, it’s not as good as some others I’ve had, but it was still a solid choice. My guests really enjoyed their spaghetti and lasagna as well. I will say the waitress seemed a bit overwehlmed and cut me off in the middle of a sentence, but I can let that go. Don’t be thrown off by the atmosphere — the food is legit!

I’m not sure if my fiancé and I got food on an off day or what? In reading majority of the other reviews people seem to truly enjoy this place… I am not a fan. We ordered two pizzas the hypocrite and a custom pizza as well as the garlic knots. It was all kinda bleh. Pizza was most comparable to gas station pizza, with canned mushrooms and a doughy crust with no flavor or ability to hold up to the toppings on the top. After we baked it at home it was much better and became edible. As much as others seem to like it we spent too much money for a subpar meal and will not be returning.

Best pizza in ballentine! If I feel a need to fall off my gluten intolerance wagon this is my pizza joint. Wether it be by the slice or the pie it’s awesome!

Just wanted to say to Justin R. You are an idiot. This is basically your review. «I was told this pizza restaurant was great so I decided to go try it out. Being that this is a pizza joint and pizza is their specialty I decided to order a sandwich. Can you believe it, I didn’t like it. Did I try the fantastic pizza? No, why in Gods name would I do that. So if you want a sandwich from this pizza joint then stay away.» So I’m assuming when you go to a great seafood restaurant Justin you order a burger and then complain about that as well.

I’ve eaten here three times now, and I finally decided it was time for a review. Each time we’ve been, the best part has been the service, which is okay, at best. I’m rarely moved either positively or negatively to write about anything in Columbia, but this place is far too overrated here on Unilocal!and I hope that my review can offer some insight into why. Our party ordered spaghetti with sausage, lasagna, and a cheese steak sandwich. Each with a Caesar salad. The Caesar salads are pure romaine lettuce, no filler iceberg involved, which is nice. The croutons are presumably made in house(I’m almost positive that they are), and look nice. Looks are deceiving though, as they were spongy and seasoned far too heavily with what appeared to be one of those ‘Italian Seasoning’ herb mixes you buy in the spice aisle. Small crushed dried herbs caked one side of each little soggy piece of bread. The dressing was okay. Not house made, but okay. The lasagna and spaghetti are both swimming in grease. Their sauce is better than most Italian places around in flavor, but it’s still far too sweet for my liking. They seem to be unable to find the balance with their sauce. It almost tastes as if it’s a canned sauce that’s been doctored, but I’ve heard they make it in house. Either way, it’s nothing special. The lasagna is much the same. Completely mediocre. It’s edible, but nothing I’d ever order twice. Which is why I didn’t order it on this trip, but tasted a couple of bites from my family member’s plate, wondering if it had gotten better. It hadn’t. My order was the cheese steak. I will never recommend anyone eat at this establishment, but please, if you do, do NOT order this sandwich. It’s a six inch hoagie roll that’s doughy and has the consistency of having sat in the bread aisle a little too long. The filling was the most pathetic thing I’ve seen called a cheese steak in my life. There was approximately 3 ounces of unseasoned meat mixed with cheese slapped inside this sad little hoagie roll. And that was it. So I took a bite. I have rarely been so underwhelmed with a sandwich. I love cheese steaks almost as much as I love a good burger, and this cheese steak sandwich doesn’t even deserve to be called one. On top of that, it was $ 7. Had I not been a guest of one of the other diners, I would have refused to pay for it. Instead, I just acted like I was full from lunch still and took it home to find a resting spot in my trash can. I didn’t want to embarrass my family by confronting the staff about the quality of the food, so I decided to express my opinion about it here. This place is terrible.

The food is always delicious but the service is awful. I would recommend only using this place for take out orders. Came in tonight with a large party and have been waiting for 50 minutes so far and they still haven’t even managed to bring out the children’s food. Very disappointing experience.

I was really disappointed with this place. Maybe we went on a bad day or something but the food was not that great. I was really excited to try this place because of the high rating on Unilocal and even traveled 24 minutes to try it. We got pizza and garlic knots. The garlic knots were okay, not really good at all though. The pizza just wasn’t good, it kinda just tasted like bad pizza. This was definitely one of the worst pizzas I have ever had, and you can’t really mess up pizza that much. Won’t be returning. On a good note the service was excellent, but that’s all.

I’m so happy, I have been in South Carolina for almost a year and nothing but mediocre pizza, not anymore, this is the real deal NY pizza, you know fold the slice and put a napkin in your hand stuff, my only complaint is the restaurant is not in newberry where I am, probably a good thing, I would be as big as a house from this stuff, trust the fat man, if you are a fan of NY pizza this is your place!

Best pizza in Columbia area, hands down! Hate to review this place since it is always SO busy on weekends, but they deserve such a great review. We usually just get pizza from here and it is completely awesome! Other italian dishes are very good too. Favorite pizza and less than a mile away from my house.

This place was ok. I was surprised how crowded it was for a Monday night! I got the eggplant parmigiania. It was cooked well, but I don’t feel like it was worth $ 13. The breading was a little bland but the sauce and eggplant itself was good. I’ll have to come back to try the pizza.
