This review is for the Dump and Disposal place. Next door is a garden supply place ran by the same company also called RJs. If you want to review them, they have their own listing on Unilocal. — — — — — — — — — — – Eduardo G. is right. They do have inconsistent prices. But that is because they don’t have a fancy scale to weigh you when you come in and out. What this means is that you get in and out fast. I’ve been to the dump in Santa Monica and spent an hour in line. THAT is ridiculous. Here at RJ’s if you’re there for 15 minutes, it starts to seem long because I’m used to being there so briefly! :) What Eduardo failed to mention, and maybe notice, is that the pricing is inconsistent, but cheap! At Santa Monica they charge by the ton an have a 1 ton minimum charge. So you bring a single branch to Santa Monica, it’s $ 55 or something like that. I’ve had small loads at RJ’s that will be $ 15, $ 5 or even some that they just don’t charge me for. Don’t be swayed. These are good guys running a small family operation and they will take care of you. If you have a bunch of extra time and money, the Santa Monica dump is just off the 10 at the Cloverfield exit.

The green waste recycling center and hardware store have greatly improved their customer service. The pricing is pretty consistent, on occasion you may get charged slightly less or more than before, or for example on Eduardo G’s comment below, the first time that he was charged $ 30 was when one of the owners charged him, he got lucky, and a discount. the normal amount charged was $ 40 which is why he thought he was getting ripped off when he was charged $ 40 but he wasnt he just got a dicount the first time and charged normally the second visit. And they never give discounts, especially on DG. This company also rents containers, sells mulch, and landscaping machines.

Inconsistent pricing. Came to dump some green waste and when asked how much, was told $ 40. Told him last time I was charged $ 30 and had a lot more trash and was told nope in that case it would’ve been $ 50. I think it was that guy’s brother who charged me $ 30(I think they are twins lol) Afterwards I asked how much was the scoop of soil and was told $ 25. Got two and he charged me $ 40 telling me «so you won’t think I’m a bad guy» hahahaha
