Dont bother to come. Is NOT worth it. Unwise choice, Came back after 2 years to give it another try to see if it has improve. Sadly to say, it got worse. The ayce sushi. Not much sushi choice you can choose. The fish doesn’t look fresh at all. Ordered salmon skin handroll. The Salmon skin is so dry & crispy, like eating deep fried popcorn chicken crumbs. They had $ 2 aycd beer. Takes forever to get the refill beer. Service is bad, not friendly. Especially the waitress. She RAN… to the restroom so fast like she is chasing someone. When they deliver the food. They just leave it on the table without saying a word. Not a friendly place! This will be our last time here. The reason we haven’t been coming here for the last 2 years, is because one of the waitress charge us «extra» for the food we ordered but they didn’t make. We waited over 45 minutes for our 2 round orders. So we told her to cancel our order. We don’t want to wait anymore. She say you ordered. So you will need to pay, even if is not on your table. What a joke! Other guess was complaining food is taking way too long. It was chaos. Everyone was laughing at her response. «You ordered you need to pay even if is not being prepared». We had 4 adult and a child which is 4 years old and she charge us for 15% service charge. we pay and without leaving any tips. They dont deserve a penny! And never came back until today. Disappointment! Will not make another dumb mistake for coming back.

Don’t really understand why there are so many horrible reviews. My bf and I go here all the time and we’ve always loved it. Good quality fish, great price, reasonable service. Big plus for shrimp tempura and for ice cream after!

THISREVIEWISSTRICTLYFORTHEBENTO The parents came here for dinner but i didn’t because i’m not keen on sushi/sashimi/japanese food but told them to bring me a bento because japanese bentos are about as far as i go in the consuming japanese food department. They brought me a teriyaki chicken bento which i was excited to eat. I opened the lid and i saw stir fry vegetables. I immediately got a chinese bento vibe(nothing wrong with that) but i expected more from a «japanese restaurant» which i later find out is chinese/taiwanese owned which explains the lack of authenticity. Not to mention i’ve never had a chinese bento at a japanese restaurant before. At least mom liked the sashimi but she eats stuff like that. She said it was pretty fresh. I’ll take her word for it. They also deduct 10% if you pay in cash. Ain’t that nice of you.

Good place to go with friends, the AYCE sushi lunch is about $ 16 – which in my experience is very affordable. All you can eat sushi in Little Tokyo always seems to stack up to $ 30 per person, so this price was refreshing. We arrived around 1:15PM on a Friday and it was pretty crowded. This restaurant is understaffed for lunch, meaning that dishes were taking a while to come out. Also sometimes the stuff you order gets lost in all the hustle & bustle; my friends and I ordered two spicy tuna maki rolls but never actually got them. The handrolls are good, and any cut roll with avocado in it is pretty decent. We also got the gyoza, which only comes in two pieces but was delicious because hey, it’s really hard to get gyoza wrong. I would not recommend any of the salmon skin rolls, they over-fry it so much that it’s like supermarket chicharron chips in texture – bleh. All in all, pretty good. I might come back for the price when it’s not so busy.

This review is entirely on the AYCE and service. I came here once or twice for lunch and had the combination which was quite good. But the AYCE kinda made me to never come back again at least for AYCE. Don’t get me wrong though. The fish was OK and fresh(at least no upset stomach, yet.). But is it worth $ 24.99 or so for dinner? Probably not, because AYCE is not actually AYCE. Before you read on, please note that heck I know I’m probably being dramatic. And some might think that 24.99 for sashimi is a cheap deal and I probably shouldn’t complain. This is just my opinion and sadly I don’t think it’s worth the money I spent tonight. Anything more than a $ 25 is a good meal to me and I’d expect it to be good. First thing that you need to be aware of is that you can only eat for two hours. Well sure, that we can understand. But tuna and yellowtail limited to two pieces per person? THAT I kind of can’t see the reason at all. They do have a note on the order sheet/paper but the text is quite small and that wasn’t mentioned in the menu booklet. And honestly why would you limit yellowtail ANDTUNA which are like the basics of AYCE? If it was halibut or uni, I’d totally understand but oops nope they don’t have those. Not even albacore for sashimi. But of course, the menu itself doesn’t affect the number of stars I’d give this place. And at first we honestly didn’t notice it and ordered after it reaches the limit. The waiter and waitress still took the sheet and when we asked about it, they kept telling us they are still preparing/making it. But then they came back maybe 10+ mins later telling us we’d reached our limit for those two kinds of fish. So yes, $ 24.99+ aaaand you can’t really get what you want. I’ll be fair though. Here’s some pros: miso soup is very nice. Tempura and edamame as well. And whooo ice cream and yogurt!!! Cons: not very authentic. Rice falls apart easily and some sushi/food are quite salty or has no flavor at all. Food take a while to be served. That and service, which I’ll get to. Just be patient. Food is really just OK, not extremely bad per se. But not impressive and quite average. The only good ones are salmon and the ones mentioned above. And that’s it. Tuna and yellowtail are probably OK as well but wasn’t very memorable(since I only had two pieces.) Some maki/handrolls such as tobiko are very salty, udon is bland and flavorless, and katsudon is quite disappointing according to my friend. Ice cream comforts us for a bit but they honestly don’t have much flavor at all and all taste similar. Worst part is that when it hits two hours, they’d just shove you the bill and well, I’d get that sometimes and I usually wouldn’t mind. BUT I would mind if my friend actually asked for the order sheet(to check for the note about limited sashimi) and the server agreed to get us one, but the manager stopped half way with the sheet and just turned back to get the check instead when she saw that it is us who ask for the menu. When she slammed the bill on our table there was no explanation or anything. Yes we noticed that it’s been two hours but we’d appreciate it if you can at least mention it. It wouldn’t hurt anyways and won’t take a lot of time. It’s hard to make me feel so bad about a business that I have to leave a negative review. And it’s sad since I really look forward to it for a whole day or two. I was a waitress once so I usually wouldn’t mind if service is just acceptable during peak hours. Even after being told we can only get limited tuna and yellowtail I was quite enjoying it. But to be honest we felt really bad about the whole experience due to the manager. And a 3 star went to ½. To sum up the super long complaint, unless you love salmon and can eat super fast and all, AYCEDINNER is probably not worth it. Serve pace is quite low and portion isn’t a lot so I didn’t even get as much salmon as I planned. I get hungry between orders and that tiny bit of fish can’t really satisfy me who expects probably too much due to the price. That leaves two stars for the waiter and the other waitress who are pretty nice and attentive, and for the salmon, tempura, edamame and miso soup.

Yum! I really enjoyed this sushi place. My boyfriend treated me here for a celebration and I was more than impressed. Though the place is really small, it didn’t get tooooo packed for a Friday night. Price was $ 24/pp for AYCE. I really liked their selection that they offered — sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, udon, tempura, rolls, salad, ice cream, etc. I really enjoyed the fish quality and thought it was worth the money. The sushi place I usually go to has horrible fish quality and poor rice to fish ratio. But here they give you more fish, less rice and it doesn’t fall apart all over the place. Customer service was much quicker than expected and in comparison to other AYCE places.

I’m really not sure how our bill was so cheap but we went for lunch and it was about 15~ a person. There was 3 of us. Non alcoholic beverages included! So it was like 13 pp. And this was a weekend! The food was pretty good and this place was packed! First off let me mention that this place serves a little bit of everything for their AYCE so if you want straight up sushi only probably go somewhere else. As for us we love having a little bit of everything! Some food yes you will have had better but if you order the right things your tummy will be happy! For instance we adored the fried salmon belly. Yum yum. My friends did 2 $ extra for bottomless sake/beer. first off wtf that is an insanely good deal(even though they both don’t drink much LOL) I’ve read previous reviews about the inattentiveness but for our experience we had the most attentive, kind, respectful, wonderful servers. Everyone stopped by our table at least once to make sure we were fat and happy. :D the waiter starts off with, «excuse me if you don’t mind and are planning to drink a lot maybe I can leave a pitcher of beer here so that your glass is never empty?» Uh of course we wouldn’t mind! Just the way he phrased it, so sweet and respectful. It was adorable! When we were unable to eat another bite they insisted we try a little bit of all the ice cream flavors they had to offer… I mean I have a 2nd stomach for desserts so I guess it worked out! The food was great the price was amazing but what really has us coming back for more is their service. They are so sweet!

I felt the need to write this review after almost reading all the recent 1 star reviews of this place. We haven’t been back in a year or so, but decided to go today. First of all I have to say the quality of the fish is absolutely excellent! We have been to numerous all you can eat places and this is the rare spot that has ayce sashimi. Most places we’ve been to only have ayce sushi or nagiri, but this place has both. As for service, some horrible reviews about poor service was not experienced by us. We came really around 5pm on a Sunday and we thought the service was excellent! Karen was our server and everything she did, she did with a smile. It was also cool that she counted my daughter at the lower children rate because she had just turned to the next age. Lots of places are snobs about the age categories that it really makes you feel cheap for asking to be in the lower age when they had just had a birthday. We didn’t need to ask, she was totally cool and said my daughter looked like the lower age and just gave the price for her. Although they just opened, the food came out fairly quick. Like I said the people were all super nice. By the time we left around 630, there was a line outside. Here’s some pros: great quality sashimi(dinner only), ice cream, soda, and hot tea included. Hand rolls are awesome! Cons: if you’re user to some of the crazy rolls that some of these places have such as Vegas roll or whatever else some of the other places have, then you’ll be kind of disappointed. The rolls they have are more on the normal said, but with better quality. Don’t expect rolls that are drowned in mayonnaise or sauces. They do have a spicy sauce roll or this teriyaki sauce on it, but overall not crazy sauces. We really enjoyed this place and will be back.

Came here for lunch during my break. And the took a little while due to how crowded it got. The food quality is whatever like any other ayce place… but I’ve had better. For the price it’s pretty good though. They have a promo that if you have 6 – 8 people your bill is 20% off so it came out to around 16⁄17 $ per person which isn’t bad. I was especially full after the meal too. I really liked he Saba but it left me with a really distinct after taste. The salmon was a little slimy. The halibut wasn’t as white, but for ayce you don’t expect much. The salmon cheek or neck was super greasy since they battery and deep fry it. The rolls to me seem like a waste since its all rice and fake crab. I like the hand rolls though. The put plenty of sashimi and little rice. Would I come back? Maybe if there’s enough people to get the %off

I’ll try not to biased here, but I’ll be blunt. This place is a mess. It seems like the management doesn’t even know how to run this place. There’s only one English speaking server, and everyone goes to her for help on an order. Horrible. FYI she was also all over the place. For a «sushi» place they have a very limited amount of selection of fish! Amazing right? I mean if you’re a sushi restaurant you kind of expect to have the basics, maybe have some uni or some oysters. The chef forgot our order, and so of course they asked if we can order again. This is me waiting another 10 mins. just to eat. After the wait, the server hands me a hand roll I didn’t order. If this is some tactic to add food to the total order, it won’t work for me since I used to work at a sushi place. I got my order, it wasn’t bad. The food was actually good, I just think that if the service was good I would’ve at least given this place a 4 and would recommend it. If you want a restaurant place to thrive please handle your management first and put a lot of time in customer service training. Btw, don’t wait 15 mins. To ask the customer what they would like to drink.

POORPOORPOORSERVICE. Servers are inattentive and sloppy! All of our orders were either wrong or missing and the waitress got frustrated and began ignoring us whenever we let her know that she placed wrong orders on our table. Food: average quality. Wasn’t thawed long enough… Raw fish was still slightly frozen. Skewers didn’t look appetizing enough for me to try. CONCLUSION: I will likely be back if I feel like being surprised since I know I won’t be getting what I ordered!

I would have given it about 3 ½ stars, however, it was shot down by their customer service. I had order a couple lunch specials to go. Very simple orders. Tell me how are you going to forget my sashimi? I then called the restaurant and some lady kept telling me that I was not able to order cause they are closed(lunch time) I explained to her that I was not calling to place an order and that I had already picked up my food and that I was missing a dish! She kept speaking over me and kept repeating herself that they were closed! You don’t have to ask me if I would ever come back.

My friend and I came here for lunch at an odd hour and it looked like there would have been no wait. However, we stood around for a good 10 – 15 minutes with absolutely no one acknowledging us even though they saw us. As far as the food goes, it’s really a hit or miss. I would say the appetizers and what not are a better choice than their sushi/sashimi taste-wise. They bring all of the appetizers out before sushi/sashimi so be careful how much you eat first if you’re here for the fish. Let’s be real though. AYCE sashimi is too good to be true. Because it was lunch time, we were only allowed to order salmon sashimi. Great! Because that’s what I really wanted anyway. When we got our sashimi, it was still a bit icy. They don’t have a large selection of different fishes and the freshness is not the best. Some notable things though are their takoyaki, agedashi tofu, beef yakitori, sushi pizza, etc. Their ice cream was really good too! Red bean woot!

With the discount, my weekend lunch for AYCE came out to $ 18.50. It is ok for 5 rolls, 2 pieces of fishes, one deep fry item and a soda. I could not finish two of the rolls. The key to good sushi is the rice. Their rice is not hard, but a little dry. The fishes are all from frozen, but that is expected at low cost sushi place. Overall, it is a good valued place. You do not pay much for ok sushis. I will be back when I have the urge for sushi.

For an AYCE sushi place, the quality here isn’t bad. All the cooked food is hot a freshly cooked which is an extra plus! We love their shrimp tempura and chicken wings. It’s also much better having them cut and serve the sashimi right away. I hate watching it sit on little plates like at those revolving sushi places and wondering how long it’s been there. My only complaint is that the rolls and cooked food always comes out super fast and the sashimi takes a while. Not sure if that’s on purpose so you won’t eat as much afterward, but the wait can be a while. Sodas are included in the AYCE price!

Arrived here a bit early(around 4:55) because my friend ended up getting off work sooner then expected. I waved my hand asking trying to get one of the servers attention but he ignored me and continued to go on about his business. Finally the girl server notices that it was almost opening time and that we were waiting at the door, she greeted us with a smile and sat us down. She got our drink order and got us the menu as well. Here’s where things kind of went downhill… without even asking us, she thought we were here for the all you can eat(24.99 for dinner). After we explained to her that we were here for just the rolls and the sashimi, she scoffed and went back to the register to get us the correct menus. We ended up getting one of the salmon rolls and the salmon and tuna sashimi. The roll had way too much rice and you couldn’t taste the guacamole, crab cake, etc. It was to the point where we had to cut the roll in half due to the fact that we couldn’t fit all of it in our mouth. The sashimi wasn’t fresh at all. It seemed like it was prepped within seconds. But what do you expect with a place that has 3 stars. I’ll come back one more time to see if I can ask the chef for less rice among other things.

Not great, but not awful. It’s a decent lunch spot with lunch bento box specials(starting at $ 5.99!!!) or ayce sushi/appetizer lunch. We’ve never been to their dinner, but for lunch, their AYCE is totally worth it. As for the food, meh to a slightly better meh. They don’t have too much sushi/rolls during lunch. We ended up with a few rice bowls to pad the tummy. It’s worth a try, but with low expectations. Next to Monja Taiker, same plaza as Half & Half Tea House, JJ Bakery, Jazz Cat, etc… so parking can be ok to horrible-who-gave-them-a-drivers-licence? It can get horrible, especially on a weekend. The service is a bit sluggish and it’s almost if they take their sweet time so you can get full faster. pfft. They haven’t met the likes of M&F! We’ll wait you out!

Sushi is OK. Smaller cuts of fish on a very dense ball of rice. Don’t get me wrong, their rice was flavored nicely but I don’t wanna be eating so much of it at ayce. Plus side for serving sashimi, however, they limit certain types of fish. Each side is order by the piece so don’t be alarmed if you want to eat that yam or broccoli tempura but scared no one will eat with you. Service was a bit lacking, we had to stack our plates mountain high at one point to attract attention. We also had to ask for napkins, ginger, refills a few times before they remembered. Ice cream is delicious! So good that we went borderline crazy with it. I didn’t want to look like a fatty with 4 bowls in front of me so I asked them to combine it into 1 and they were happy to do so. Parking might be a small challenge bc there are so many great eats and entertainment in the same plaza but you can either tough it out on the ground floor or look for underground parking.

My bf and I randomly chose this place for dinner before we stopped by Chelo Creamery(we ended up not getting ice cream). We also weren’t planning on participating in the AYCE sushi; we were suppose to just order some udon or sushi and leave. However, we got talked into doing AYCE and I am so GLAD we did! I’m definitely coming back here for lunch because AYCE is around $ 15?! THATSSUPERCHEAP. For dinner, it’s $ 20 for weekdays and $ 25 weekends buuuut, there’s a 20% off entire bill for dinner so basically $ 20(we came on a weekend). What sold me was AYCE sushi with UDON and RICEPLATES… whaaaat? I was so shocked that the Udon is part of the AYCE deal too. I’m sold. Although their AYCE menu has a wiiiiddeee selection, they have a small selection of specialty rolls. I mean, it’s all good, their rolls were super yummy though. Their quality, of course, isn’t Sugarfish great, but it’s great to the point where it’s def. worth the price you’re paying for! Also, their ice cream won my heart green tea, mango, red bean, and black seasame! AYCE toooo. As for serivce, it was great this girl seriously took care of me and my bf. She asked if it was our first time and we said yeah! She gave us so many recommendations which helped us so much! She was seriously the sweetest worker ever. I wish I got her name! But yeah, definitely coming back here again. I left so stuffed I didn’t even have room left for Chelo Creamery… which I’ve been dying to try! Oh wells… next time!

Honestly I am not a fan of all you can eat sushi cause the poor quality shows. This place was like that. The prices per person was about $ 25 per person but because we had a larger party, we got a small group discount. They have all you can drink beer for a few dollars which is cool Only had 2 waiters so it was a bit hard for them to attend to everyone. Most of their fish either had no taste in which it was too dry, or tasted like it was soaked in water for too long. The only fish I found to be ok was the salmon and the unagi. Hamachi, maguro, albacore, and butterfish were. just gross. Got salmon belly which was nice and rich but too salty from the soysauce they soaked it in. Takoyaki…was just cheap tasting so no comment there. Ran out of sesame ice cream but their mango and green tea tasted ok, red on the other hand, no. Actually thought mango tasted the best of the 3.
