won’t ever be going back! walked in and walked out due to the overwhelming swirming of bugs, bugs, and more bugs! Should be called Yucky’s!

In the mood for Fair Food, this is the place. Gyros, ribeye sandwich, you name it. Always good, always cheap, always Yummy’s!!!

I’ve driven by this spot countless times and finally decided to stop in for lunch. It’s definitely more of a take-out joint though there are several tables at which to eat happily. The menu is vast but uninventive. I was hoping to get turned onto a local specialty but none seemed evident. What they can do is fried food, as evidenced by the lingering aromas associated with deep frying. Their French fries were adequately hot and crunchy. I ordered a hand-written offering by the counter that wasn’t on the menu board: fried okra. This isn’t something I see every day and I was not disappointed. As promised, it was okra and it was deep-fried, with a side of cucumber dipping cream which my dining companion especially enjoyed. My DC and I also split the half order of BBQ ribs. The meat was easy to pull off the bone and the sauce was tasty; nothing earth-shattering but perfectly acceptable. The ribs came with a delicious cole slaw(I can attest this was above average as I consider myself a cole slaw connoisseur), the aforementioned fries, garlic bread, and chicken noodle soup.(The number of complimentary sides that accompany meals in the Midwest never fails to amaze this New Yorker who is used to paying a surcharge for bread and butter.) I would rate Yummy’s slightly above average for a corner fried food joint. We spent $ 15 on ample food for 2 people. Normally I reserve my fried food intake for carnivals and state fairs, but I’ll be back for the fried okra.

Very delicious fries. Nice variety of meals. A little on the pricy side though. Definitely somewhere to try :)

I just got lunch to go. I got the gyros combo and I am loving the gyro! I’ve never actually had a gyro before so I don’t actually have anything to compare it to, but I think the meat is very well seasoned, and not greasy at all. The fries aren’t anything special, but I really wasn’t expecting them to be spectacular. I pass by this place every day on my way home from work. I’ll definitely be back.

We were disappointed in our experience there. I’d HEARD the food was good. Mediocre was more like it. We went there Feb 14th in the evening. It was cold as could be in there, even staff working the grill wore a sweatshirt, as did the cashier. The interior was really shabby, panels coming off around the counter. Blinds would have helped cut the cold a little, & I’m sure that in the summer its an oven what with all of those windows with NO coverings. The 1st table we sat at rocked back & forth like a kid’s rocking horse, we had to move. Food-shrimp overcooked. French fries greasy as could be. The garlic bread that came with our dinners was tasteless, yuck! Husband ordered pork chops and all we were given to eat with were plastic utensils-ever try to cut meat with plastic knives? I hate Pepsi products & Yummy’s had cherry Pepsi on the menu, something I could drink tho not 1st choice, yet they told me they don’t sell it. So why not take that particular product OFF the menu? Prices ugly. A grilled cheese sandwich on the menu for just under $ 7? Other sandwiches are equally overpriced. We won’t be going back, & if YOU go there, get your food to GO so you don’t either freeze eating in there during cold weather or sweat miserably eating there during the summer!

I really really wanted to like this place. I went there on a sunday after realizing that papa roux wasn’t open. I’ve had a few friends tell me that this place had great food so I decided to check it out as a second option. It’s a family run restaruant and they couldn’t be nicer. I ordered a breaded tenderlon sandwich, fries and a drink. The tenderloin seemed like it came from a box and was freezer burned, the fries were plain old sysco type fries and were undercooked, the bun was still cold and I’m pretty sure the diet mountain dew was regular mountain dew. Once again they were very friendly and the place was spotless so I may give them another shot but I was not impressed at all.

From the outside this place at 10th and Post rd looks a little rough and even the inside isn’t much to look at it, but it is clean. Give it a chance — the staff is friendly and the food is really good. Everyone raves about the gyro, it’s great with soft dough and well seasoned lamb. I’m a feta cheese freak and heads up the gyro doesn’t come with feta unless you ask to add it. You can get all items a la carte, with fries, or make it a meal with cole slaw and garlic bread. It’s so cheap too! Dinner for two is under $ 20 and you’ll be stuffed. Good option for something different on the east side.

Great Mom mad Pop shop to visit. Family run. Ma very friendly, Pa always working. Gyros are fantastic and stuffed full. My hubby says they have the best Philly cheesesteak in the city. We much enjoy their food.

Stopped in on Saturday evening at the recommendation of friends. I had the Gyros platter, which was great and enough left over for another entire meal(lunch on Sunday)! My boyfriend enjoyed the rib-eye sandwich and fries. The fries were okay, but the ketchup was not so okay, tangy with a hint of bitterness(I guess I’m a Heinz snob).

I got some food from here a few weeks ago and why I didn’t review it then, I don’t know! I am new to the east side of town and it really seems this side of town has all the really cool ‘ma and pa’ ‘hole in the wall’ restaurants. I’m loving it. I didn’t see many of these places on the west side. I have passed Yummy’s several times noticing the sign advertising best Philly cheese steaks in town. I finally decided, ok I have to try one of these cheese steaks. One evening I walked in ready to order a cheese steak but then became overwhelmed by the menu. So many other choices! Well I didn’t get the cheese steak, instead got the souvlaki dinner. It was, well Yummy! I have a little saying, if after a meal you have the gurgles, you just ate a great meal, or maybe thats the grease talking. Next time I will go in and hopefully order the cheese steak unless something else catches my eye!

I’ve been a Yummy fan for several years. In the last few visits I have noticed a decline in the quality of the food. Visiting again last week I had the usual Gyros Combo and found the sauce pretty runny, as though diluted. They are also putting on about 1/3−¼ less meat & veggies than in the past. The heat was a problem in the dining area, due to all the windows I suppose, It was about 45 – 50 degrees inside. Everyone sitting inside kept their coats on. I’ll try it again someday, hopefully this only a short-term decline.

I like Yummy’s. When Papa Roux is too crowded, it’s a good alternative. Their main dish is gyros, but they have taken the typical Chicago dog/gyro menu and added several local favorites, like tenderloins and rib tips. They also have daily specials. For $ 7 you can get a big gyro with a ton of meat, a good serving of fries, and a drink. Pretty tough to beat that deal.

I agree with Dennis C. It was«Good food at a good price.»(For the most part.) Their lunch specials a great deal. I noticed that it comes with an entrée + fries + drink + soup… and all for about $ 7. Trust me… it’s a lot of food. Anyways, I ordered the gyros sandwich. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but the portion of meat was huge! The meat was seasoned well, but was a tad greasy. It’s all that should be expected from processed meat that came from Illinois. So all in all, it wasn’t too shabby. I’d get it again if I had a major craving. My roommate had the Philly Cheesesteak. I tried a couple bites, and it was surprisingly good. It was less then four bucks for a very decent portion. The bread and veggies(onions and peppers) were great. But there could have been more meat. The cheese was alright, I think it was a processed white American cheese. As a personal preference, I usually like mushrooms on mine and provolone cheese. We also shared a small order for french fries. The left something to be desired as they reminded me of soggy Wendy’s fries that were underseasoned. The only downpoint was having to pay $ 0.30 for a cup of water. I was flabbergasted, maybe because it’s one of my pet peeves.(To pay for something that should be free) But at least the food was enjoyable.

Good food at a good price. Has a drive thru with a small eating area inside. Try the chili dogs and gyros!
