I think they’re a little pricey, too, but I take everything I want framed here — because they have a nice selection, a friendly and apparently knowledgable staff and decent turnaround times. Plus, they’re very conveniently located.

I hoard art prints. I buy them on Etsy, I receive them as gifts, I purchase them at cutesy little renegade craft-type stores. Then they sit in my closet, in a drawer or propped up on my mantle, sadly awaiting frames. FORYEARS. I finally decided to at least start to do something about it by bringing a couple to the nearby Great Frame Up and seeing if anything caught my fancy. I ended up getting a 4″ x 4.25″ print custom framed for $ 75. That kind of stung my wallet, but the finished product looks great. The sales guy offered helpful advice, but wasn’t pushy. I ended up going with a frame I chose myself and a mat he suggested. I was able to pick up the piece within the week that they projected. I’d have loved to have gotten my other 8 X 11 print framed, but that was quoted at $ 75, without matting. I’ll just have to go back here as my paycheck allows. They require a deposit of half the estimate before the job, but I just paid the whole thing up front. Fine work, but pricey, especially when you’re buying cheap art from unknown artists just to brighten your décor and not preserving masterpieces. (Just a caveat here because it’s driving me nutso – I did NOT tack that stupid lowercased«the» to the end of «Great Frame Up» on this entry. It should either be in front of «Great Frame Up» or following a comma, and have a capital T either way!)
