This is ur second experience. The first visit two years ago was excellent. The second visit this weekend was so so. It was a special event which the extra special attention was nice. The steak was not as good as i previously recall. The flavor of my filet was disappointing, but the Porterhouse was better. The broccoli was over powered by onion. We couldn’t eat it. The sour cream potatoes were fine but nothing special. The bread was light but little flavor. We were looking forward to the dessert which was highly reommended by our server several times. We went with her choice of blueberry bread pudding. Unfortunately, we were again disappointed and wish we would have gone with the known. At least there was no charge for the dessert because of the holiday we were celebrating. The hostess was excelllent. The server was okay until we had to wait some time for our check. Probably won’t return for the kind of money it cost.

If you want excellent service, Morton’s is the place to eat downtown. Everyone is so friendly, and if you come back a few times they usually remember your name! Food is excellent, I love the Cajun Ribeye and they always cook to the proper temperature. Atmosphere could use a little updating, but I heard that’s in the works soon. Great menu variety and good portion sizes. Obviously it’s a higher class steakhouse, but you definitely get what you pay for. I always have a great time at Morton’s!

During the WWETT convention, hubby made a dinner reservation for 15 people on a Wednesday night. Morton’s is always on point. I can finally say I’ve tasted Midwest steaks, and they are humongous! It was neat to go downstairs; I love the ambiance of any Morton’s. I know it’s a chain, but it’s safe to say they’re always consistent. Morton’s makes some mean azz drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my appletini, looked like some awesome green love potion. Almost as good as House of Prime Rib. The steaks were amazingly delicious. I’d rate them beyond 5 stars if I could. Events Manager Sherri did a stellar job with our dinner party. Our long table sat right in front of all the action; they were bustling in the kitchen on a Wednesday night. Our waitstaff ensured everything was flawless, pouring wines, refilling our glasses, topping off water, etc. The evening was memorable, highly recommended for juicy steaks and a fabulously good time! ‘Til we meet again ~ cheers!!!

Came to this location because we were in IN for a trade show. Everything was find and good. We got a 3 lb lobster that was just okay, but the steaks and scallops were amazing! The service was pretty good too!

One of the great things about chain restaurants is that the better ones have consistently good service and food. Mortons Indy is no exception. As a new transplant to the area, I’ve had more negative experiences than good, so when the temperature dropped, and I just wanted a good steak, I turned to Mortons. PROS — Great service — Consistent quality CONS — Very expensive TIPS If there’s a game or a large conference in town, you can expect it to be very busy. Otherwise, chances are good that you won’t have any trouble getting a table or eating in the bar.

In the words of our server, «I noticed you guys ordered everything on the menu. I like that.» We did order three apps and two entrees. The crab was lovely, as was the filet. We also enjoyed the oysters… But the server couldn’t tell me what type of oysters were on offer. That raised an eyebrow. Other than that the service was impeccable as well. I only wish this location offered the seafood tower. The ambiance of a good steakhouse is always elegant, and this location is no exception. Treat yourself to valet parking and feel fancy.

Came here before a Jets v Colts game & was not disappointed. This was one of the best Ribeye’s I have ever had so good I am almost mad at Morton’s for creating a steak so tender that it melted in my mouth depriving me of the pleasure of chewing it. The spinach & mushroom side was a perfect complement & the bacon creamed corn was so sweet it counted as a side. I would highly recommend Morton’s even over the famous St. Elmo’s.

The service here is impeccable(much better than Fogo de Chao and some other higher up restaurants in town) and the filet mignon is the best I’ve had in my life. The salads and sides are also phenomenal. Is it a little expensive? Yes, but you definitely get what you pay for, and it’s worth every penny.

This one is located in the heart of downtown’s bustling district and a walking distance from all major hotels, sights and the Mall. Therefore, the competition is pretty huge. Typical for the Steakhouse elegant mahogany interior with booths and tables in the center. They position the restaurant as a popular destination for a plate of small bar bites and a glass of wine or for a relaxing dinner after a busy day. There are also two private Board rooms for groups, suitable for business meetings or family and friends celebrations. Most steakhouses have those kind of rooms. To start with bread: it comes hot, fresh and a loaf is huge, but a little bit tasteless and sapless to my mind. We didn’t get any appetizers, decided to check out their meats more this time. Filet mignon was pretty succulent. No deficiencies for that part. We also ordered the lamb chops with a suspicious mint sauce. The meat was fine, I’d say nothing bad about the quality and it’s preparation. But the sauce, again, mint sauce on the meat — sounds very innovative and brave, but the content and substance is not very appropriate for the meat and lamb in this case. Some people might find that interesting and exciting, but I I’d prefer something more berry like, cranberry or whortleberry based sauce, a little bit sour-sweet, or some wine reduction. They have«Upgrades», like blue cheese butter, black truffle butter or like we chose Foie gras-cognac butter. That one was absolutely inedible. There was nothing of foie gras in it, but the grease and some cheap brandy may be. I told my attitude and at least they took it away and didn’t charge us for that. They were out of creamed spinach. Out of — that’s interesting: besides us there were only two tables occupied during the whole evening. 4 more persons… So we took sautéed Brussel sprouts. That was a ok. With bacon, by the way. They have seven variations of potatoes and few more typical sides like creamed corn, onion rings etc. For the fish and seafood lovers there is famous and typical selection of Maine Lobsters, Chilean Sea Bass, Crab cakes etc. Fruit Crisp for dessert was a good one. The wine list is typical for this kind of place, almost the same can be seen in the most chain Steakhouses. The only thing that stick out a mile and is pretty unpleasant is the price column — prices are 20−30% higher than those that we are used to see in California for instance. And furthermore in Indiana is not permitted by law the corkage fee. So, plan your wine selection and be ready to spend few extra bucks… The service — meh. No this, out of that, too long waiting time for the food. Overall: the quality of the meat cuts is high. The preparation and serving could have been much better. The price range compared to the rivals located around is notably higher. If we’ve known all that before — we would have chosen another Steakhouse, like Ruth and Chris for instance. But this experience is good for the future and somebody who might read this. Valet parking available.

It pains me to say that Morton’s has declined in quality and service. We have been dining here twice a year or more for the last ten years. Morton’s discussion unfinished itself for excellent steaks and outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. We have been there twice over the last six months and the service was mediocre. First, the manager/sommelier was nowhere to be found. He used to greet you and check in your table at least once or twice during the meal. The friendly conversation was part of the experience. The server was OK but again not as attentive as in the past. We typically order the fillet. It was a bit in the rough side and without much flavor. Lots of butter on top though…

A fabulous place for a meal for a special occasion, get together with friends, or just because! The service & food is always top notch, but be prepared to shell out some dough. While it’s classified as a $$$$ priced restaurant like a few others in the downtown area, I would say we always spend more here compared to Ruth’s Chris, St. Elmo’s, Shula’s, Mo’s, Sullivan’s…etc., which are all great steakhouses as well. I have never returned a steak here for preparation & believe they know what they are doing. Cocktails are well made & definitely good bang for your buck in terms of how much liquor is included($ 15/drink avg so pace yourself). The soufflé is portioned for two, so it resembles a blob when served, opposed to the individually portioned ones that you would just eat from the ramekin. Doesn’t matter though, still tastes fabulous. The Grand Marnier one is by far my fave, followed by the chocolate one.

Was taken here as a surprise and it was a nice change from the crap steak I have had lately. Our waiter Chris(I think that was his name) was very nice and informative and I was impressed. The woman who fills the water glass was never to far away and I never went thirsty haha. Anyways, to the food… We started with a caesar salad which wasn’t anything spectacular, it was just a caesar salad. The bread was great! A big loaf of onion bread with butter was fresh out of the oven. We then received our steaks which looked and tasted amazing. Lots of flavor, we got the prime ribeye and a cajun style steak(in my opinion was the better of the two). We also got the table bacon mac n cheese which wasn’t that great and was a little cold when we got it. The biggest problem I have with the whole thing is we paid around 50 – 60 per steak and that didn’t include any sides. The mac n cheese was an additional $ 12. It was enough for both of us to eat with our steak but I was still a little disappointed in how overpriced this was. We then ordered the chocolate soufflé which looked cool when they brought it out but then when they served it I was a little grossed out. It looked very unappetizing. I tried it anyways and it tasted just as it looked. I would not recommend it. So my overall conclusion is great service, bread and steak but other then that it isn’t worth the price to me.

Met friends there prior to an evening event. Wasn’t crazy about the loaf of bread brought to the table. But, we devoured it nontheles. My Bibb Salad was exactly how I had envisioned and will order again. Everyone seems to want filet. Not I! I prefer a little more natural fat in the meat. I ordered the Cajun marinated ribeye. The steak is dark! Not spicy, which they were honest about. And although I like hot I cannot envision eating a hot and super spicy 16 ounce hunk of meat. It was thoroughly marinated and not hot at all. They brought it medium rare, as ordered. The reason I like med. rare is because the steak will continue cooking for a few minutes and I’m assured never to go any farther than medium. All in all, one of the best ribeyes, hands down, I’ve ever had. My wife and I shared a crème brûlée. Just a small serving of sweet to top off the evening. Not much on bragging on this dessert. It was average. Not to say they didn’t have more complex desserts, they do, it’s just we don’t normall like too much sweet afterwards.

We went here again for dinner on 2⁄28(somehow my update didn’t post that day!) They were very busy due to several downtown events but we had excellent service and the food was like it used to be. Also thanks to Mr. Mitchell for coming over to check on us!

Had an absolutely fantastic meal at Morton’s tonight with my mom! Started off with the wedge salad with rich blue cheese dressing, tomatoes and bacon, followed by a fantastically flavorful 16 ounce prime ribeye steak cooked a perfect medium rare! Seriously, it was one of the best steaks I’ve had. Dan and Toby’s service was impeccable and the manager, Howard, was gracious and professional. My mom and I followed up the meal with Morton’s legendary hot chocolate cake and a chocolate mousse, both of which were rich and decadent. The wonderful food, great atmosphere and awesome service made for a really nice evening!

I came here to meet a friend so we could take advantage of the Devour Downtown Indy offerings. The rich dark wood tones made for a comforting and relaxing environment. The hostess greeted me nicely and offered to check my coat. I met my friend in the bar area where we were taken care of by two very attentive servers. They swiftly took our drink order and brought a loaf of soft onion bread, which is a nice change from bread offered in other restaurants. The service was outstanding. My friend adhered to the Devour menu and ordered the 8oz. Filet Mignon and was extremely pleased with it, and stated that they cooked it perfectly. I, on the other hand, did not adhere to the Devour offerings because i saw the Broiled Scallops with Apricot Chutney and had to have them. The chutney was a nice addition to the scallop dish, however, out of the three one had a slight ammonia taste, which meant that it was not fresh. I ordered the Hot Chocolate Cake for dessert and was very pleased with it. It was warm and moist with rich chocolate oozing out the middle. Additionally, the Amaretto Sour was made perfectly. The four stars versus five is because of the ammonia taste of one of the scallops. The chefs may want to smell them before cooking in order to detect any ammonia smell so as not to serve them. However, since I was extremely pleased with every other aspect of my experience, which includes the other scallops that did not have an ammonia taste, I plan to return. Also, there is a parking lot immediately next to the restaurant, which is very convenient. The night I parked there the cost was $ 5.00.

I’ve been dreaming about the cocktail I had had here a few years ago at our last visit. We stopped in here for drinks after work one night and I barely got seated on my bar stool before announcing to the bar tender that I had to have the Secret Garden. Well, it was no where close to how it was made last time I was there. It was like drinking a glass of sugar water. What’s worse… the bartender asked me how I liked my drink and I told him it was really, really sweet. His response? «If you have another, I won’t make it as sweet, we all make them differently and I tend to go on the sweeter side». It’s a $ 15 drink. If a customer isn’t happy with the drink, I’m not sure there will be a «next time». Which there wasn’t. We paid our tab and left… a half empty pricey cocktail.

With so many great steakhouses downtown it’s a tough choice where to go for a nice steak. I am happy to say this place never disappoints on all levels! Service: I met my friend in the bar as we were early for our reservation. I was greeted promptly and when I asked the bartender for a suggestion he gladly obliged. He poured me a Hendrick’s martini because of the cucumber notes. As if that wasn’t enough he went above an beyond by allowing me to sample another gin. Props for stellar service sir! The great experience continued at our table as well. Food: We started the meal with a loaf of onion bread. It was not my favorite but that’s ok because it allowed me to save room for the good stuff. My salad was tasty and dressed with the perfect amount of dressing. My filet was well seasoned, cooked beautifully and juicy. My lobster tail was always cooked perfectly. The potatoes are a treat with the addition of bacon and sour cream for no additional charge! Tip: Great Happy Hour bar bites every night except Saturday. Go check it out!

I dearly love some steakhouses. Morton’s is not in my top five. They can still serve a great steak — think buttery when you think of the Filet due to its tenderness and their dessert soufflé is not common to get and delicious. The service is also very good. I agree with the majority of reviews on this point so I won’t go into more detail. Now, I’ve dined here twice and left feeling mediocre about the experience when compared to some other steakhouses(Jeff Ruby’s for example). The first time, everyone that ate the bleu cheese salad got ill and everyone that avoided it was fine… I’ll update if this happens again! This time ’round my steak came on a cool plate. This made my sides that I put on the plate also cool. The macaroni and cheese was almost cold as it didn’t come out that particularly hot in the first place. The brussel sprouts were my least favorite preparation I’ve had in a long time(sauteed but underdone and didn’t pick up any good flavors so they just tasted kind of peppery and raw — despite not being raw, just undercooked) and their love of bacon put bacon in three of the four side dishes ordered… I don’t share the love of bacon unless I’m just eating bacon(I know, weird for this day and age’s love of bacon everything). There was no side that all of us agreed was absolutely delicious. At $ 13.00 per side not really worth it. The other ordered items included a salad at $ 14.50 and lobster bisque at $ 15.50…The bleu cheese dressing iceburg house salad isn’t as good as the amazing Wedge at Malibu Grill in Bloominton(with homemade Maytag Bleu Cheese Dressing) for almost half the price and the lobster bisque was good but far from the best I’ve had. So: excellent steaks and service but the sides and starters didn’t live up to expectations or the price. The final bill, with tip, was around $ 100 per person with two cocktails and two desserts amongst the five people.

I rarely find myself giving 5 stars to chain restaurants, so listen up people, this must be something special. It all comes down to the fancy dancy yet budget-friendly bar menu. Yes, I’ve had the pleasure of sinking my chompers into their buttery filet in the dining room, but I’d much rather pull up a chair to the bar, chat with the bartenders, let my feet dangle and nosh on truffle oil french fries. What to expect, you ask? Think classic wooden bar, warm and low lighting, a hefty stash of business men with a mix of locals who are«in the know». Let’s not stop there, $ 7 bar bite options that are big enough to make a meal out of, cocktail specials, friendly staff and a few tv screens for those of you who understand baseball. I’ll be back dear Mortons. You pair, oh so well, as a pre-party to my ISO/IRT nights. Or any other time that I feel like dressing casual and eating high on the hog.
