If you’re reading through the handful of reviews for MBA right now and thinking«hmm this is a small sample size» or «these are just the people who had a bad experience but there must be people who had good experiences and didn’t write reviews» then cool, but keep these lil reviews in the back of your mind when you decide to rent from MBA. I rented from them and had almost no problems the entire year. When I moved in some things needed to be repaired but the maintenance guys were quick to come out and make the repairs. Whenever anything went wrong throughout the year they were still good/fast about coming out to fix things(one of the dude’s names is Cash which is inauthentically badass). My problems with management began when I had a conversation with them about subletting the apartment for the summer. Their initial response was«maybe» so I found a potential lessee and let them know of my progress. They then asked if I was planning on renting from them next year. I told them I wasn’t and they told me they wouldn’t let me sublet. It would’ve been nice to have been told from the start that they weren’t interesting in letting me sublet if I wasn’t going to rent from them next year instead of playing games and wasting my time setting something up with a potential lessee. The situation got a little messier when they came up with another option for me. They suggested I let them show the apartment and try to get someone to take over the lease so that when/if they could get someone to lease it I would be off the hook. I agreed to the plan and one of the leasing agents started showing the place. The leasing agent did a great job showing the place for the first couple weeks. My only complaint was that she would bring people by without giving me any warning. So I had to call and ask her to give me some warning which you’d think any decent«leasing agent» would already know to do, but HEY let’s give her the benefit of the doubt because I’m sure she’s a great person. This sh*t is taking me too long to write so I’m going to speed things up. I moved to another city, kept sending MBA rent checks, called once or twice to ask how things were going as far as leasing the place — no luck, suddenly hear from MBA at the end of July wondering why I’m still sending rent checks when my place was leased in June. Oh it was? «Yeah, not only has your place been leased but we don’t own it anymore. We sold the building to another leasing company so you need to talk to them about getting your money back.» WOWTHANKSFORKEEPINGMEINFORMEDMBA. My fav leasing agent couldn’t spare 20 seconds on the phone calling me, the person on the f – king lease, to tell me all this back in June? But I understand… there are more important things to do like daydream about whether or not the ugly Deschanel in Bones is ever gonna slob on Angel’s knob. Thx MBA !!

Would not recommend. Any issues you have in the apartment will take weeks, if not months, to solve. Lived there in 2013 – 2014 when we had the worst snow storm in years. When it was below 0 outside and my heater broke, i was told to turn my heat up over 90 degrees at all times until they could get it fixed… which was not for a few weeks. Even then my apartment didn’t heat up past 50 degrees — and I had a small dog — so I had to leave an oil heater on 24⁄7 to make sure he didn’t freeze, even though that meant leaving the heater on while I was at work. I then had to wait an additional few weeks because they were waiting for parts to come in or some other reason. I also had a leak in my kitchen — I had 2 women come look at it, and also called multiple times about it, About the 4th or so time I called, I was told that it was never noted! Then I had a huge leak above my bathtub — the ceiling was caving in! It took not only a few days for someone to come and fix — but by the time I had moved out a few weeks later, it was still not completely patched up. While they let me out of my lease a month early due to the issues I had, it was still the worst maintenance experience I’ve had and would never recommend to anyone.

Avoid like the plague!!! When you first meet with them they’ll show you all the great but once you get in you can kiss that goodbye. If you have any problems with someone else in the building they’ll do everything not to help. Have a maintenance issue I hope you like to wait. They’re super cheap for a reason cause they let government check collecting idiots in. You’ll learn who they are cause they’ll be the only people you see and they will be the one’s you’ll hate.
