The person who wrote the bad review is extremely harsh, and their ego was probably hurt or something. I recently moved to 1010 Central Ave. and I love it so far. I will write a review after 6 months of living here and then before my one year lease ends. Maribel, the manager, is a caring, professional and very understand person. I needed to find an apartment downtown, in a good location, close to my graduate school as quickly as possible. Most places had very long waits. 1010 said that I could move in on August 14th since the current person was moving out on July 31st. I stayed at a friend’s house during the first week of August, and I emailed Maribel to ask if there was a possibility they could have the apartment sooner. She and the maintenance guys worked hard and within the next 3 days, they had it ready. I moved in a whole week before my move in date. The process of applying, getting approved and paying went smoothly. Maribel worked with me every step of the way. I love how clean the apartment and the building is maintained. It takes me 7 minutes to drive to school with traffic. I can call an Über 2 miles down to downtown or walk across to Mass ave. I absolutely love being here! I do not have my washer and dryer yet but I love how they have a FREE laundry facility with NICE washer and dryers. Pros: free parking awesome customer service good price for electricity large windows and high ceilings new appliances Feels good to have surrounding flowers and tress(I use to live at The Block and I hated not having enough nature and too much concrete jungles right downtown) Cons.: website needs to be up-dated the person smoking too close to the outside of the door needs to be told to stop!(Will email Maribel about it)

I was one of the first persons to move into the place in 2012. From my first contact attempt to schedule a visit until about a year ago, I never knew who I would talk to and what service I would receive. The property went thru 3 property managers alone in the first few months! Stability has gotten better though with the position as the current manager has been on-staff for about a year. However across the board, the company gives the«I don’t care» attitude about any issue unless you threaten to not pay rent. Unfortunately the manager isn’t always in-office M-F, and if you email a request she won’t always confirm receipt of the email until after the request has been complete. I’m thankful she knows who I am and if an issue arises, she knows to get it taken care of. Positives: *location, location location! ~10 block walk to dt Indy and a few min walk to Mass Ave *neighbors are friendly *water is paid for with rent Negatives: *cars are required to have a parking pass or will be towed by Indiana’s Finest Wreckers. Although the office has your car make & license plate on-file, they don’t share this info with IFW. I don’t understand! *the smoking rules are not enforced — people smoke less than the 8ft rule, and I smelled it in my apt [above one of the areas]. the neighbors around me claimed to not smoke too, but I could smell it easily in my vents sometimes. *thin-ish walls — I could hear many things from the guy above me *no option for internet/cable other than Brighthouse. I was told in 2012 that they’d get ATT set up for the bldgs, but that never happened. *accessibility of office staff [manager currently only works M, Th, F]. *my apt was not complete when I moved in which required a few annoying maintenance appts after moving in [disposer & fridge weren’t connected to water, paint splattered on faux wooden floors that I couldn’t ever clean off, half-assed painted walls].

I lived here for all of three months before my roommate and I could not take it any longer. First and foremost, management is terrible. They are rude and never around when they are needed. The property manager has changed FOUR times in less than a year. I have never dealt with a more incompetent management staff! The apartment itself is breathtaking when you first view, but don’t let that fool you! The walls are paper thin — we could literally hear our neighbors just casually talking. We had a two bedroom and the second bedroom should not be allowed to be called a bedroom. We were barely able to fit a full sized bed in it. Please heed this warning. You will regret signing a lease here. While the location is great, it really does not outweigh the bad.
