Marsh Supermarkets

Not bad. Service from everyone except the cashiers is great. Checking out can sometimes take a while and the bagboys are usually really boisterous.
The selection is ok, but this is a smaller store with kind of a strange layout.
We ordered a cake from the bakery. It was done correctly and was tasty. It was also priced better than other places.

Besides living near by they have a wonderful salad bar that you can go in and create and purchase per the pound. I absolutely love this feature and it is well worth the money. I have always had wonderful salads from them! When I go to Marsh that is typically all I am looking to get… the service in that area is great though!

This recently expanded Marsh has added on and expanded their frozen and dairy cases and expanded their pharmacy and HBA section by acquiring the adjacent strip mall sections and expanding into them. By result, there was more room for them to add more of everything and make a great remodel. The resulting super attractive store has been quite a boon to this store as they have seen themselves attracting back customers they lost with expanded selection and improved presentation.
They have a really good hot food section and some fantastic fried chicken. The sides are pretty good, that is, until after lunch time. They sit around too long after lunch and then they do not make anymore after a certain time. So any side dish past 1pm is a lost cause, but they continually make the chicken.
A couple of bad gripes lately:
The service here recently has taken a turn for the worse because of the caliber of employees working here after Sun Capital bought Marsh and gutted the longtime employee’s benefits. After that, the long time people eventually quit and moved on and the only people that were willing to work for their pay and lack of benefits were quite underqualified. However, the managers have stayed the same and have kept up their union breaking techniques that Marsh now finds themselves in hot water for.
The other thing about this Marsh that gripes me is their prices are completely out of line of their competitors. However, since this is the only full service grocery for over a mile radius, they seem to get away with it.
Overall, its a clean convenient store, but that’s about as far as they can be praised.
