Kroger

I can not go to this Kroger any longer, and I live SO CLOSE to it too. Today was the third time I have gone and they were out of a meat or seafood product, a COMMON one like salmon or pork shoulder. The guys behind the meat counter were at least nice about the inconvenience, which it was an incredible inconvenience because I had to lug my newborn in the store.
Also, they often do not have enough check out lines open, like 2 non-​express lanes during a rush period (Friday afternoon).
Lastly, and this is hard to change, but the aisles are small in many high traffic areas, such as around the dairy section.

Greatly improved after the renovation. However, lighting is poor. My major objection is that the last two times I have been there, the men’s room had no soap. I reported it, but I doubt if anything was done. I would like to know how the male employees are washing their hands.

So much better since they remodeled! Staff is very friendly. Yesterday an employee comped a package of chicken wings for my sons biology lab. I just asked if they had a smaller package since we only needed 2. He just gave me the package! $ 5.50 worth. One time they didn’t carry something I was looking for so they comped a similar item!

This Kroger has been undergone a massive renovation in the past 6 months. It is now one of the nicer (and bigger) Krogers on the north side. It used to be pretty dark and dirty, but it is now bright and clean. There’s a sushi bar and a huge delicatessan now.

I agree with the the other reviews. Just go somewhere else. There is a Fresh Thyme Market that just opened next door. Go there. I just moved within walking distance to this Kroger. I was going almost every other day. Every time I go there is always a problem. The shelves are empty, not properly labeled, the staff is uneducated about specials, only two lanes are open during rush hours while the rest of the employees look to be just standing around. I would either go to Fresh Thyme, the the Trader Joe’s down the street.

I briefly went in this store about a month ago. So the other day, I was surprised that they were having a Grand Opening. I asked one of the employees, and he explained that it was a re-​opening due to the remodeling. DeAnne P., I think they read your review and decided to do something about it; I encourage you to try it again. Then, I just had to check out all the aisles. The pharmacy was the best area. They have comfortable leather couches for those waiting.
They have a huge greeting cards area. Like another Kroger, they have a large kitchenware area.
I bought my items and enjoyed looking around.

Great store love the new look. I was a little bummed about hearing the meat department losing Will. Hopefully I’ll still receive excellent service.

Just go somewhere else.
BUYER BEWARE: I live within walking distance to this Kroger, but unless I’m having a grocery emergency I NEVER shop here. The produce is bruised, damaged, squished, and browning. They are not good about removing expires products from the shelves and on more than a dozen occasions I have got home with expired product. The pastries are not something to be desired, and the two times when I purchased pastries the checkout staff turned the cake/​cupcakes on their side to stick them in a bag ruining the item completely (who does that?!). The floral department is not helpful and the flowers are brown and sad. The only items I feel safe buying here are all pharmacy, hygiene, and frozen. So note to buyers if you don’t mind unhelpful staff, dying fruit and flowers, expired product, and dry disgusting pastries-​this would be an okay place to shop. I’d rather drive the 4 miles to the Nora Kroger. My ONLY like about this store is the new gas station, just happy I don’t have to go inside the store to use it.

This is a location that need a facelift. The store is old, dark, grimy and poorly laid out. You take your life in your hands if you use the filthy restroom there.
One positive — the pharmacist is very helpful. Most other employees, not so much.
