Good! They were in Houston, TX; glad we found one here in Indy! I wish they would open one in Avon! My favorite are the ham, cheese, and eggs and the cream cheese.

When I drove by here hungry near breakfast time, so I had to stop and try this thing called a kolache. I got the potato, egg, and cheese one. I was in and out in a few minutes, and the kolache was fluffy and cheesy and delicious! No complaints.

I thought I would give this location another shot this morning and unfortunately I was not impressed. The service was much more friendly than last time. The food was ok they heated it up in the microwave for too long which resulted in an extremely hot item that I had to wait to eat. The major problem I had with the location was its disrepair and dirtiness. The soda machine was Out of Order again! And the place just was very dirty, reminded me of a gas station. Anyway I have to really take this location off my list and could NEVER recommend anyone visit it. The GOOD news is the location on 116th street is night and day difference and I HIGHLY recommend that one, I almost just drove there today but wanted to check this one once more.

Yum! Ranchero and spinach r my favs! Picked them up to take to my staff for breakfast, service is great, they r friendly and i love when u buy multiple ones they draw on the box the name of each one bc when u get home u will have no idea which one is which. I go there at least once a month. Delicious soft dough filled with surprises for your mouth! Yummy in my tummy!

So I love Kolaches, but I’ve only ever been to the one on 116th. Found out today there’s good reason for that. As soon as I walked in, I almost walked out. The place just isn’t very clean, but I pressed on. I ordered an egg, sausage and cheese along with a fruit filled one. The guy at the desk, who had disgustingly long finger nails, asked me if I wanted them warmed up. Since I had planned on eating there I said yes please. He threw both of my kolaches in the bag and into the microwave they went. After the short time being in there, I decided that I couldn’t really stand to eat inside so I left with my food. When I went to my car to eat them though, I realized he had thrown the strawberry one on it’s side and in the heating process all the goodies had oozed out. Smooth move. Nonetheless, I give the kolaches themselves a B, but the place/experience a F.

Man, we wish a Kolache Factory would open in South Bend! Whenever we are in Indy, we try to stop here for a breakfast treat. My hubby is a HUGE fan of the Sausage and Gravy and the Ranchero. I love the Pepperoni and Mushroom and the fruit Kolaches. It is a quick service restaurant and the service isn’t great but those warm Kolache rolls make up for it!

Kolache Factory is so good, I drive 30+ minutes just to eat here. The cashiers are always friendly and are more than willing check in the back for me when they have run out of something. That’s the only reason I gave 4 stars, is because they do start to run out about an hour or so before closing. Otherwise, a delightful, delicious, and even easy to eat while you drive treat.

I had never tried a kolache before trying the kolache factory. Now it’s my favorite thing to have for breakfast! So good and unique! They are also pretty reasonably priced. I would recommend the ham and cheese, Ranchero, and sausage and gravy.

Imagine the softest, fluffiest dinner roll you’ve ever eaten-now stuff it with ham and cheese(my personal favorite) that my friend is a Kolache. Although they have many, many selections from huevos rancheros to apple I tend to stick with the ham and cheese and the club. Both excellent choices IMHO. The Kolache Factory is my go-to place if I need breakfast or snacks for a crowd or if I’m in a hurry for lunch. They’re compact and super easy to eat while you’re in the car or to hand out after soccer practice. No mess. The Kolaches themselves are really, really good. That being said, getting them is… an experience. It’s possible that perhaps it’s just the time of day that I go there, but it’s always messy between 1 – 2PM. I find it hard to understand the staff because of the language barrier. Also, if you want to make sure that you get the Kolache you’re craving you’ll want to go pretty early because once they are out for the day, they’re out period. I can’t count how many times I haven went there and they are out of both the ham n cheese and the club. When I am able to get my favorites I always buy extra. They reheat really well. Overall the good outweighs the bad by far.

These are so good! Plenty of variety. Savory foods(meat, cheeses, and peppers) inside of a roll. Great breakfast idea!

Middle aged customer in baseball cap, dirty shoes, and Colts jacket seemed odd from the moment he walked in, could have just been a working stiff– He didnt get inline, he merely walked straight to the kitchen’s double doors and stood beside the swing door divide I finally understood that he must have called in his order. He received his bag of kolache booty– headed directly out the door. Right away the staff informed one another he hadn’t paid. obviously there was confusion, yet something had to be tended to post haste! Catch him! the food cook from the back, didnt seem to fully understand the broken English l was too was trying to decipher. from the very same counterperson Meanwhile the customer was retrieved by staff just outside in the parking lot, brought back into the kitchen. Immediately l asked at the counter, «You let him in the kitchen area??? Where my food’s being prepared??? staff spoke amongst themselves in Spanish, «limpio no» Again l protested; «hes not clean and youve got him in the kitchen area from outside!» Of course they didn’t speak English. How foolish of me :-) nAll l could do for myself and you, was to take a photo as proof. The recipes, the cook or maybe both have changed. The kolaches were dry.

I had a coupon for buy one sweet and get one for equal or less price. So I bought two cinnamon rolls. They were OK. Lots of cinnamon. Maybe they would have been better hot or with the cinnamon spread on when hot so it melted.

Amazing and great for on the go! Wish they sold coffee or cappuccinos, instead of just listing them on the menu.

I can’t believe that I am the Duke of the Kolache Factory with just a few check ins! If you don’t know what a Kolache is: It is a ball of bread(Think O’Charleys dinner rolls) with a variety of things baked in them from Ham and Cheese(my favorite), meatballs, bacon & eggs, sausage gravy, philly cheese steak, spinach & cheese, bar-b-que, ect. They also have a several dessert and sweet Kolaches. They close at 3 p.m. though so get there early while they still have a great selection. Head to 96th and Allisonville and get some for the office, trust me they will appreciate it!

I really WANT to give Kolache Factory more stars because I’m kind of obsessed with a few of their flavors, but unfortunately their kolaches can be pretty hit or miss. I’ve been driving past this place regularly for the better part of two years, and finally stopped in for the first time on the Fourth of July. At around 11:00 am on a holiday, they had a solid line to the door. Good sign. The line moved rather quickly, and I scanned the wall of pastries to make my selection. On round one, I ordered Pepperoni & Mushroom(«Pizza») and Cream Cheese. My boyfriend ordered Sausage, Jalepeno & Cheese and the Club. I have to give myself a pat on the back because we both agreed that the Pizza kolaches were delicious, and we were both instantly hooked on the flavor. I also really enjoyed the Cream Cheese, which is basically a slightly more savory cheese danish. The Club, however, was lackluster. And as some have mentioned, any of the options with«sausage» in them are basically a half a hot dog inside of a bun. So it becomes a game of chance, as we re-entered the line before leaving to take a few kolaches with us to go. On round two, we added Philly Cheesesteak and Meatball to the mix. The Philly Cheesesteak was pretty decent, boasting an even and tasty mixture of sliced steak, gooey cheese, onions and peppers. The Meatball on the other hand, was three solid, probably Gordon Food Services quality, meatballs with a tiny bit of sauce inside. Both of us thought that the Meatball as well as the Sausage kolaches would highly benefit from being made with ground or shredded meat(more like a meaty marinara sauce or ground breakfast sausage, respectively). Touching on service and overall appeal: the line moved pretty steadily and the staff were attentive. The soda fountain had some straw wrappers and plastic lids strewn about, nothing any other busy«to go» business wouldn’t be dealing with. The bathroom was pretty clean. Kolache Factory will continue to receive my business for lack of a better option in the area, and because I truly do enjoy SOME of what they have to offer!

BUNS! Note: Prior to knowing about TKF, I have had several tasty bun experiences at the Taipan Bakery in Manhattan and thought that stuffed buns could only be limited to Asian ingredients… A few months ago I learned about The Kolache Factory and realized ‘Oh! Anything can be stuffed into buns! Hooray!‘ There are so many choices!(Seriously, check the website.) Kolaches are a perfect combo of a soft, sweet bun and savory filling ingredients. So far I have only tried two varieties of breakfast kolaches(spicy Ranchero and classic Bacon + Egg.) Plus, I’ve had a fruit kolache(I opted for my favorite, Lemon.)((The fruit kolaches look more like traditional danishes, but square.))(((And, when I say fruit, it’s not real fruit, it’s that sweetened fruit goo.))) Oh, and everything is warmed up to order ensuring a perfect bite every time. Mmm…

There is nothing quite like The Kolache Factory in Indy. The Eastern European style stuffed rolls are a great way to start the day. They can be a bit pricey for a morning meal, so a stop isn’t an everyday thing. But any morning kicked off with a Kolache is for sure on the path to success. I recommend sticking with the classics – anything with eggs. They are a bit more expensive but they pack a major punch of protein which will leave you feeling satisfied until mid afternoon.

If you’ve never had a kolache, what have you been doing all your life? These are great for breakfast or brunch. It’s best to order and take out instead of eating in. The place isn’t 5-star or anything in regards to cleanliness or organization, but man do they know how to make baked pastries! A kolache is a warm, fresh-baked pastry that is filled with sausage, cheese, or fruity options. I always order an egg & cheese kolache. Hits the spot. My husband enjoys the Ranchero kolache which has eggs & jalapeño inside. They have a wall of options, so take your time choosing. The lines move quickly, but be sure to go early enough before they run out of everything, which is a common occurrence since they are so popular. They close at 2pm each day, so plan accordingly. They do have coffee, water, and soda options, but I usually go in and buy a half dozen for the fam and leave. They will heat them up if you’d like so you can eat them on the go. Go on a Saturday for a no-hassle breakfast :)
