Great atmosphere, great food! We started out with the mushrooms and the organic artichoke dip(awesome!) and we loved the Korean Chicken and the southwest chicken wrap! As for the service, Andrew was a rock star! We could not have been more happy with our experience here

Not my favorite place. Food is okay but not fabulous. The past two times service was just okay. This last time it took almost 35 minutes to get our food and it wasn’t a big order, two people. The restaurant wasn’t busy either.

I was surprised at how dead this place was on a Friday night. Me and another gentlemen that came in before me almost left as there was no one at the host stand and none of the current wait staff was not interested in sitting us. About 5 or so minutes someone came out of the back to seat us. I ordered a martini and it would have been good if the server did not spill half of it before it got to the table. My server looked very tired. I ordered chicken tenders tossed in Thai Chili sauce with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Chicken tenders were cold and I had to order a side of sauce since they were not tossed in the Thai Chili as requested. The asparagus was over cooked and soggy and the potatoes were less than stealer. The manager was walking around but never came to my table to see how my service or food was. I love Houlihan’s but I would rather make the drive out to the Plainfield location then dine here again.

A few years back, I used to go here quite often with friends and family. Food was always spot on, staff was great, etc. However, things began to go downhill about 2 years ago and I can’t justify going much anymore. I gave it another chance last night since I was emailed a coupon for free soup or salad and dessert with an entrée purchase. Things started off well(although I was surprised to see how dead the place was). My tomato soup with grilled cheese balls was divine, as always. Then the scallops came right away, when I had barely eaten any of my soup. The«drizzle» of oil with the scallops & risotto was more of a large pool. The oil took over any other flavor, which was disappointing. My waiter came to ask if I wanted dessert. I gave him my coupon and asked for crème brûlée. He was immediately angry at me for having a coupon! «Oh great, a freaking coupon!» he said, and walked away, clearly very upset. He came back with my check before dessert arrived, slammed the check holder down on my table and walked away. Gee, thanks. My crème brûlée came, with a chewy, untourched top. I just wanted out of there at that point so I didn’t complain. I always tip 20% of the total check before the coupon, but this guy was such a jerk. He never once came back to check on me and had another waitress deliver my dessert. He walked by me a couple times, uncomfortably staring at me with and letting out frustrated sighs. With a place so dead, you’d think he would be happy for at lease one customer. I can’t say I’ll ever be back here, at least not to this location, since staff and food quality continue to decline as prices rise(which is clearly why the place was so dead anyways).

I’ve been going to Houlihans for years(many other locations). I used to love it, but the menu changes a lot and I haven’t been as happy with the new(and fewer) menu offerings. It’s now just a decent restaurant rather than one I get excited to go to. The drink menu right now is very limited, and the martini I had was just okay. Not much flavor. I had a Mexicali flatbread, which was very unique and good. I also had a slice of cappuccino cake and that was good as well. Our server was great, and the hostess was super friendly. Houlihans is still a good standard restaurant, but they really need to expand their menu offerings and make stronger/more flavorful drinks.

Love the food … it one of my family’s favorite places to go. Visited on a Thursday night for my birthday dinner, and had great food and great service. Would go more often with our group of friends if they accepted reservations, and more often with our kids if they had menu options between the kid’s menu and the main menu(hard to spend $ 16.25 on a full portion of chicken alfredo for a 13 year old). Some restaurants offer a menu section tailored to the older kids no longer eating from the kids menu, that tends to be more reasonably portioned and priced. That would be a nice addition to the menu selections.

This is a place we go to after a long week. There are 2 waves of happy hour specials. We usually sit in the bar gor the second wave because it has been a long day. The alcoholic drink specials are many and if the right bartender is there, they are delic. They are price right and sized right. You can get a liter of long island ice teas for $ 7.50(Say what!!!) There are also special appetizers ranging from brugers, mushrooms, egg rolls and such. My fav is steak and wedge for $ 15. You get a nice size steak and deconstructed wedge salad. I like the mango dressing with it. There are also plenty of TVs so you can watch a game or two.

Listen, damn everything else on the menu. Don’t even look at the menu. Get the fish tacos. Get the 3 mini flights(mandarin, blueberry, and mango ginger), and get yourself some pleasure. Orally. The fish tacos were dressed like they were going to prom. Just elaborate. Oh but that first bite… that first bite??? Had me forgetting I lived in a landlocked state. There was humming and rocking. And like a true lush I got 3 martinis. Because I can. The mango ginger was the best. Don’t look at your bill. Just tip well and float to your car and plan to come back. Don’t count calories, either. Nobody wants to be that person at the bar. This is not Weight Watchers approved. You’re welcome.

For some people, the most important thing to know about a restaurant is that the food is excellent. Our food was excellent. However, literally everything we ordered came out wrong the first time. I ordered one kind of drink and they gave me another. They forgot side dishes. The service was quite slow. We came in because we were at the mall and going to catch a movie. Unfortunately, we ended up being in the restaurant around an hour and 20 minutes on a Thursday night when there couldn’t have been more than six or seven tables being used at the restaurant. The waitress was cordial, but inefficient. I don’t forsee returning to the restaurant, unless I was to take advantage of the drink and appetizer specials that are only available in the bar.

Celebrated my birthday with friends and had an amazing time with some amazing food & service!!! Had the opportunity of trying warm hummus and it was great!!! I hadn’t been to Houlihan’s in years. I’ll definitely return just for the hummus appetizer. Soren was a great waiter!!! He was very attentive, accommodating and friendly.

This is what I consider a fancy restaurant. My wife loves it here. I will eat it for her. It is tasty but the bill leaves a sour taste in your mouth and pocket. Steaks are juicy and baked potatoes are phenomenal.

After a long, stressful day at work, my friends and I decided to meet for an after work drink. Houlihans was not very busy but they had $ 3.95 happy hour apps. The egg rolls were really good and so was the chips and salsa. I ordered a flight of martinis, which were a nice size and pretty good but could use a bit more liquor in them. I would return.

So this afternoon my family chose to dine at Houlihan’s Castleton. We had a party of 15 who received less than exceptional customer service. I was especially disgusted when I found a rubber band in the middle of my tarter sauce. It goes without saying I would highly discourage anyone from dining with a restaurant that has such low standards of cleanliness and lack luster concern for their mistake.

I was at this location again for lunch yesterday and felt I needed to update my last review. What a turnaround! The service was amazing and the food was made to order and delicious! I am going to chalk up my prior bad experience to the restaurant having an off day. I highly suggest this location for lunch and dinner, dinner parties etc.

Here from Philly. Came around 4pm. Quiet, clean, establishment. Our server, Bull(tall white dude, bald head, look like he should be a Laker.) courteous, friendly, gentleman. Great service, good food. No doubt!

I went there before 7PM for their happy apps. That is, $ 3.75 smaller portion appetizers. I tried their ORGANIC spinach artichoke dip. It was worth it.

I revisited Houlihan’s and had a much better experience. I was not able to partake in the Happy Apps because it is for the bar area only. I don’t know why I didn’t catch that my first time there. I went with my daughter and we both ordered an appetizer and and split a full rack of ribs. We also had the key lime mousse for dessert which was awesome, but unfortunately will no longer be served as they are changing to a caramel nut crunch pie. Sounds good and I look forward to trying it. Our server was friendly and provided us with much better service than my first visit. I love the spicy chicken avocado egg rolls.

So, an update to my previous review from my visit last week. After leaving a negative review about the horrible service we received during dinner here, the manager of the restaurant reached out to me. She was sincere in an apology and I was offered a $ 10 giftcard.

Sigh… I am really open to giving things a chance even if they only have so-so reviews, I am always hoping that I will get to have a great experience and give a place lots of stars. I hope that places will listen to the feedback they receive and improve. Unfortunately, that was not the case this week at Houlihan’s. They have the right idea in their head, that is for sure… nice looking restaurant, plenty of seating, a tasty sounding menu including lots of drink options. Sounded like the perfect place for drinks and food with my friend. But everything left a lot to be desired. We decided to check out their«Happy Hour» which left us not-so-happy at all. Mediocre weak drinks and overpriced appetizers even at their«Happy Hour» pricing. While our first drink, a cherry mojito was very delicious, it was mostly ice and leaves and very weak, $ 5. To start, we got the smaller sized, lower priced($ 3.95) spinach dip and pretzels with beer cheese, both very tasty but so small… this is not going to entice us to buy more or come back. I get it, you want to save money by being cheap but we’re going to see through it. Make happy hour deals worth picking you over a competitor. Next was a watered down lemon drop martini, $ 4, meh. We debated leaving at this point but it was so cold out, we didn’t want to go outside so we decided to ditch the disappointing appetizers and order from the real menu. We got the grilled cheese and a chicken sandwich with bacon. We actually decided to cut both in half so we each could try it. The grilled cheese was boooring, bland and laughable at almost $ 10! The chicken sandwich was much better but we weren’t blown away. Fries were fries… we also got a pitcher of raspberry long island ice tea and this was the closest to a decent deal drink-wise we felt all night. Service was good and polite occasionally spotty because I think she couldn’t figure out what we were doing since we came very close to leaving, so not really her fault. I want to like this place, I really do, I need places to hang out with my friends that offer good deals on drinks and food, especially when we plan to stay a while and are comfortable to drop lots of $ when food and drinks are worth the $ but Houlihan’s did not provide this on this visit…
