This place reminds me of the cheers tv show. Local people sitting in the same places watching the game. I love the vibe! We ordered he fry stack as an appetizer. It was good but the bacon was chewy, as in not crispy. The wife got the Gyros(I have no idea why… yuck) she said it was good but salty. I got the grilled tenderloin with kettle chips! It was almost as if the Angels were singing and the sun came out when I sank my teeth in that tenderloin! Holy catfish it was good! Yum yum yum! I will come back and probably order the same thing. Well minus the fry stack, unless they learn how to fry bacon between now and then!

This is one of my favorite places to go after work with friends. It’s just a great neighborhood bar. It’s a bit strange now that they’ve allowed kids, but, oh well. Barb is my favorite waitress by far. She always has a smile on her face, and she knows my favorite drink. She’s simply awesome. I don’t eat there often, but when I do, I get the bbq wings. Man, they are so stinking good. This will continue to be my favorite after work hang out spot!

We were here 8⁄30 for a late lunch on a Sunday before going up to Klipsch for a concert. Parking was easy and we were seated right away. We had a party of 6 and the place wasn’t busy at all so we thought service would be good. The menu has a good variety to it and the beer selection is good. Our server was changing shifts during our visit so we had two different people. Friendly staff all around. The only negative is that it took longer to get our food than we expected, especially since the place was nearly empty. I’m not sure what was going on in the kitchen, perhaps they were short or changing shifts as well. I’d give this place another try for sure because any place can have an off day.

Slow service. Took over 10 minutes to get a glass of wine and a pitcher of beer. Monday Night Football and the place was not crowded yet they are considered a sports bar. Now I know why.

I’ve been here several times and have generally enjoyed my visits. The food is good, although I wish they would bring back their red beans and rice. The beer selection is also decent and on one occasion a beer rep was present and hooked me and my friends up with some drinks. Free beer is always a plus in my book. They are also the only restaurant that I have visited that has Sprecher Root Beer in bottles for sale. It’s hard to find and one of the reasons I go to Alibis. I would give the place four stars, but the service can be spotty at times. Sometimes the service is good, sometimes it can be iffy. All in all the food is good and the restaurant is worth visiting. Their burgers are good as is the beer. Enjoy.

Alibi’s, an after-work sort of bar & grill located on Indy’s Northeastside just South of 75th& Shadeland in a strip center that includes Sunrise Café, Tuchman Cleaners, Subway and a few other businesses. Alibi’s has been around for more than 25 years and has transitioned from an over-21 bar & grill to a family friendly establishment. I’d been to Alibi’s a few times in the past as I used to work right around the corner from the restaurant. As I work downtown now, I seldom have the opportunity to visit the place anymore but was in the mood for something a tad different tonight and was planning to hit the nearby Skiles Test Nature Park so it was perfect. Unfortunately, Alibi’s lost a star even before I entered the place. While it’s located in a fairly well kept strip center that has accessible parking and curb cuts on both sides of the building, Alibi’s offers up some outdoor dining that is a bit like playing bumper cars for someone in a wheelchair. While I did make it, it was an unnecessary hassle and it happens to be on both sides of the door. I understand wanting outdoor dining, but there has to be a better way to do it. Even without a wheelchair, I can imagine someone older stumbling over the tables and chairs. By the time I arrived at the front door with tinted windows, actually two sets of doors, I was greeted by a server who apparently was trying to get there before me to get the door open. They didn’t. Regardless, I was seated at a four-top and my drink order of unsweetened iced tea was taken. While Alibi’s is usually pretty crowded during the day, it tends to slow down for dinner with occasional pick-up for its evening events when held. So, I was able to sit there pretty casually and relax and read a magazine. That’s always a plus for me. I ordered a plain burger, medium-well, along with fries. It was delivered after a few minutes — a half-pound of angus burger goodness and fries that are lightly seasoned but not particularly a stand-out. I enjoyed the burger — it was tasty and plentiful without being too heavy. It was cooked as ordered and not bathing in grease. While it didn’t really have a distinct flavor, I’d definitely consider it a good burger. The fries were definitely more generic offering nothing beyond your usual bar fries. The iced tea was good and I did get one refill. Crystal was my server. She was friendly and helpful, though I won’t necessarily say she had the kind of presence that made me want to rush back. I’m not a fan of the«You’re done eating, you’re not getting dessert, here’s your check» approach to service. If the place is packed I understand it, but when it’s not packed and I’m clearly reading a magazine it might be nice to encourage lingering and maybe even offer another refill. Wheelchair access at the table was pretty workable, though I’ll admit I eyed the aisle quite a bit as it was pretty clear that if they’d suddenly get packed it could get difficult to leave. That didn’t happen, but it has potential. I enjoyed Alibi’s, but it was pretty much the definition of a slightly above average dining experience with a good burger, below average fries, some modest accessibility concerns, middle-of-the-road service and an overall experience that really reminded me why I hadn’t rushed back to visit since my employer departed the area. It’s a decent spot if you’re in the area and want to avoid fast food, but it’s definitely not a destination spot. In terms of «bar and grill,» it remains definitely superior to the nearby R&R Bar & Grill.

Consistently sub par. Sitting here now waiting for our check so we can pay for food that had hair in it. We waited a long time for everything and I never got a single refill. This place is going downhill fast

My family considers the Alibi one of a small circle of totally enjoyable NE Indy restaurants. One of the best Tenderloin sandwiches that I can’t stop ordering. Love the burgers also. Servers take care of you well and I always have that Cheers feel for the place.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Have been here many, many times and everything I’ve tried has been good, besides the southwest chicken salad, I didn’t much care for that. The fry stack is the amazing, something everyone must try there. There’s good drink specials with reasonably priced food, what’s not to like? Service is good too. Always ask for Alli when I go in, other servers are good though too.

I write this review to protect the dining public. My experiences at Alibis have been poor and trending to pathetic. I have been in to eat a few times and have learned to shy away from most everything(chicken sandwich, French Dip, Fish&Chips, — all poor) but the pretzel sticks with cheese and the pizza are good. The bartenders are inattentive and the clientele seems to be a little rough and loud with bad language and stand in groups 8 feet from the door and smoke. But I like the pizza so take out was my option. However the last TWO times I called in my order I arrived only to be told the order wasn’t placed. These folks are morons. I have given up and I suggest strongly you don’t even try. And definitely if you have children as this is NOT the place for family dining.

I ordered food from Alibi’s through Total Takeout. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich & the chocolate cake and my husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich. As for the buffalo chicken sandwich, the buffalo sauce was good, however, the chicken itself was totally undercooked. I could barely cut it, it was so rubbery. My husband LOVES pulled pork sandwiches, but he says his pulled pork sandwich from here was bland and soupy. The fries were meh. The chocolate cake was meh. Definitely do not recommend.

Only have had their pizza(so that is my true review). Used to get a pizza here years ago but got disappointed when it was burned half the time. Started going back these last 4 months(after years) & I have not been disappointed since. Hint: the owner told me to say«not burnt» when ordering because a lot of their customers like it crispier than I.

Went to alibis for the first time today. I will go back. It’s close to my house, and there are a lot of things that I want to try. I got chicken fingers and fries. They were pretty average, but it was chicken fingers. My friend got a salad with chicken on top. I thought that was pretty good. Seems like an average place with good food and many different drinks. Service was just okay. Would be up for going again, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way to visit.

I wasn’t too impressed with the service at this restaurant. We waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us at the door. Took another 15 minutes to order. We waited forever to get our food! When it finally arrived, our lunch break was over and we had to scarf down our food and get back to work asap. The food tastes decent but I doubt that I would return.

The food was fantastic, and the service was relaxed but friendly! Highly recommend the burger, but multiple items came out of the kitchen that turned my head. I’ll definitely be back!

I have eaten at the Alibi many time in years past, but not for the last couple of years. Called in a French Dip & fries to go and was fairly disappointed. The roast beef was tough as nails and dry with no taste. I would suggest another menu item.

The Meh. I’ve experienced better really sums up my experience at Alibi’s. Went last night to play trivia. we’ve been experimenting with different places that have good trivia, and I think we decided that Alibi’s is not a place that we’ll be going back to. I mean, it wasn’t awful, but it was by no means great. There was a decent selection of local draft beers which was an unexpected surprise. We also split the Three Amigos appetizer(chips with queso, salsa and guac) which was decently good. Actually, the queso was really good. That’s when it all started going downhill though. I got the French onion soup which I typically LOVE. I’ve never had a bowl of French onion soup that I didn’t like… until I went to Alibi’s. It was soo salty. I mean, it was so obvious that it had come frozen and packed with preservatives and salt and blech. Just not good. I also had a Southwest chicken salad with Southwestern Ranch sauce. Also blech. The chicken did not taste good. And the lettuce was just iceburg lettuce too which I wasn’t really feeling. Boyfriend got chicken fingers and fries. The fries were really good. Had some good seasoning, but we both agreed that the chicken fingers tasted a little weird. Anyway, it’s not a horrible place — I would say mediocre, but I think we can find a better place to spend $ 30/person and play trivia. Just a hunch.

We have now been to Alibi’s 3 times. Most of the time I wouldn’t go back to a place that I rate two stars more than once, but it is just a hell of a lot more convenient to our house than any of the places on 82nd or in Broad Ripple. The food isn’t all that great, burgers are super greasy, pizza isn’t really good quality, and the one thing their regulars say to order are the wings which are always out(I have been told 3 times by the regulars to get the wings only to be told they are out). Overall I think it is just a meh neighborhood joint that isn’t really worth going to other than it is just easier to get to from where I live.

It’s a fun place to watch the game but the food is nothing special. After several visits to watch football, the chicken fingers were the only thing that was actually good to eat. The wait staff doesn’t check on you much(every time we go), so that’s also a bummer.

Alibi’s is close to home, has a TON of good beers on tap, and is a little step up from traditional bar food. This makes it a regular, quick stop for us. Outdoor seating for the summer will be a plus. Smoke-free, somewhat kid friendly, and has tons of TVs. Trivia at 7pm on Wednesdays. It is a bit loud – not the best place for intimate conversation. Tonight we strayed from our«usual» and we had the Beef Manhattan and French Dip. Our carb-fest hit the spot on this rainy day but they were nothing spectacular. Try the pretzel bread sandwich or pretzel bread stix(if they have them)… Good stuff. 2(good and tall) draft beers, an app, and 2 dinners ran us right at $ 40.
