Hands down the best pizza in the Midwest, and that is not hyperbole. Both the deep dish and the regular. By the way the breadsticks can’t be topped. Spicy cheese. The sticks are similar to mid ’80’s Noble Romans.

Alot of people where talking about the pizza so I decided to try it out to me it was just regular pizza nothing special about it at all but it wasn’t bad I guess you could say it’s a change from the traditional pizza that you would get at the bigger chains but a little more pricey

So, this was our second visit with many more to come. In response to the reviews above… Chicago pizza? No! Waaaay better! This deep dish is in a league of its own! Ingredients were all incredibly fresh with the most flavorful pizza sauce which I was told was a family recipe. Crust was perfect and flaky. Cheese, also a perfect amount and cooked to perfection. My first visit I had a thin and crispy Gramboli’s special which was also the best tasting thin crust pizza I have ever had. We ordered breadsticks with cheese which were also great. Light, fluffy and straight out of the oven! All in all, both visits were more than we could have ever asked for. The owner waited on us and was sweet and attentive. The cooks(her husband and daughter), make everything as if it were for their own family. Where else can you go in which all of the staff are family and own the joint that they established in 1978. There is a reason they have been around for almost 40 years! Try this place out and you will be back again!!!

Impressive. This is where it’s at. Really good pizza, that is! The environment is warm and friendly having both TVs and Arcade machines with a friendly staff to boot, but let’s get on to the goods… This was my first time to Gramboli’s Pizza and I opted to try a medium All The Meats. Great choice, because all the ingredients were fresh and the pizza came very well topped! Toppings: –The pepperoni is good — some places have really shoddy pepperoni but just looking at it you can tell it’s not some lower quality pepperoni like some tend to use and cheap out on. –The sausage and beef was ground well and not overly chunky or too small, which means it was cooked just right –not too much or too little. Not caring for ham, I substituted it with Pepperoni. –The real shining star here is their Bacon. This place gets it right! Fresh, crispy bacon… not excessively fat or chewy like you end up with at a lot of chains and definitely worth adding if you’re a bacon lover! Sauce: very distinctive, tasty sauce. I generally tend to always order a side of pizza sauce to dip my pizza in because most places never put enough sauce on their pizza but that wasn’t the case here. Plenty of sauce and just enough sweet flavor to give it that addicting and satisfying taste that will make you want just another slice! Crust: I opted for the hand-tossed this time but am normally a thin crust type of person. I was surprised by how soft their crust was yet somehow perfect — in the sense that it wasn’t gooey or doughy or undercooked like some places… but still soft. Just about right. Definitely coming back for more and look forward to exploring their other menu options, including the funnel cake fries for dessert? Sounds awesome. Highly recommended for the Family weekenders! Great Pizza at a decent price and if you don’t mind paying just a little more for quality food, this is where you should head to.

First off, I may be a little biased in this review since I’m a regular. That being said, this place is seriously good eats. I work on this side of town and this is the only restaurant that I go to regularly, to the tune of a couple times a week. The food is unbelievably fresh and legit. This isn’t like the chain pizza places that use subpar ingredients. The owners take pride in their product and over the years I have found that they go to great lengths to secure fresh ingredients. First off their pizza is second to none. I can’t speak enough good words about their hand tossed. It’s the perfect blend of crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. It is my favorite pizza and this is coming from someone that absolutely adores pizza. Their pan pizza is good as well, but I’ve never been a fan of thick crusted pizza. Their menu includes more than just pizza though. They also have sandwiches, pasta, and salads. I’ll talk about a few of my favorites. Breadsticks are great. For roughly $ 3 you get a half dozen freshly made sticks with just enough salt to give them some taste along with some cheese to dip them in. Garlic bread is perfect when fresh. It’s hot and crusty and it’s easy to eat an entire order. Their sandwiches are all pretty good but get overshadowed by their pizza. Each order comes with a dill spear and some chips. Finally they have what I would consider perfect lasagna. It may not be perfectly authentic but it is perfectly delicious. It’s the type of lasagna that my mom used to make. This isn’t some pre-frozen lasagna warmed up in the oven but real lasagna with real noodles that they bake fresh a few times a week. When you order the lasagna you better be hungry because you get a huge piece with lots of sauce and cheese along with half an order or garlic bread. You better be hungry if you get the lasagna because it is a meal. The restaurant inside is probably a little long in the tooth and looks like the restaurants that I ate at as a kid in the 80’s(ironically they even have an old school arcade game in the corner) but the delicious food over shadows that. Also they have a lunch buffet, just make sure to get a side of cheese to dip the breadsticks in. Finally, if you want pizza do a local business a favor and ignore the chain pizza places and get some real good pizza from real people.

My friend raved about the deep dish but we didn’t feel like all the bread of a deep dish and got a hand tossed one instead. It was less than stellar. I honestly could’ve gotten a DiGorno’s pizza and done better. We didn’t initially ask for extra cheese so when our pie came out, we were underwhelmed. We asked if maybe we could add the extra cheese on the pie and pay for the extra topping but the lady told us that they don’ t put pies back in the oven once they’ve come out. I’ve NEVER heard this before but not ones to start a whole back and forth, we paid for our pizza, took it home and put extra cheese on it and put it back in the oven. The worst part is, seeing that we were not satisfied, she NEVERONCE asked us if there was something she could do to better our experience. I guess the customer is always right anyplace BUT here. The only place for real pizza in Indianapolis! Outstanding flavorful crust — crispy edges with soft middle(not gooey at all) with generous portions of fresh ingredients. And the service was wonderful!

Looking for seriously great deep-dish pizza? This place is the real deal. What started out as a good looking photograph in a Groupon solicitation has resulted in a true eastside favorite for us. We bought the deal knowing nothing about Gramboli’s, or even where it was. It only took the photo of a beautiful slice of true deep-dish pizza to sell us on it. To be honest, the place isn’t much to look at. A small dining room, clad in dark wood paneling, and a counter area with a window into the kitchen(where the magic happens). We ordered what we had seen in the photo, a large deep-dish Gramboli’s Special, with sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, mushroom, and substituted banana peppers for the onion. We also got breadsticks and salads, because we like to eat healthy. The breadsticks are good – chewy and full of flavor. The tomato sauce served alongside is rich, thick, and boldly tomatoey, more pizza sauce than marinara. The salads are a good size, with tomatoes and cukes, croutons and a sprinkle of cheddar. But enough about that stuff. Let’s get on to… The pie. Holy God. It was everything the photo promised, and more. This pizza could stand up to some of the better Chicago joints. The crust is thick and crisp where it should be. The toppings are generous, including the cheese. The sauce returns to show us what it can really do. A large gets you ten slices, I think, and they’re still good sized wedges, and the price is really reasonable considering the amount of food you’re getting(and probably taking home). If you like deep-dish pizza, if this isn’t the best you’ve had in Indy, I’ll be surprised. You’ll find it hard to stop eating, I promise. And you’ll still dream about it later. Since we took that chance on an unknown eatery, we have made a habit of returning Gramboli’s. It’s worth the drive. Chances are, you’ll be served by an owner, or your pizza will be made by an owner, or both. Everyone we’ve encountered has been helpful, super friendly, and extremely efficient, even considering the time it takes to fully bake a deep-dish pizza. These people take their pizza seriously, and you should too.
