Godiva Chocolatier

It’s not just the chocolate. The staff at Godiva is some of the friendliest I have ever known. We stopped by yesterday to get a chocolate fix and were immediately greeted with friendly hellos, big smiles and quick service. Not an eye was batted when I requested a specific chocolate covered strawberry (I was convinced it looked better than the others) over the one that was actually easier to get. I never take good service for granted… it (and the chocolate!) keeps me coming back whenever I am in town.

I will keep this short and very sweet…
Godiva is for lovers. Lovers of chocolate. The staff is kind, the mall is bustling around you, and the walls are lined with chocolate.
This isn’t just a store, this is a relationship of craftsmanship and consumer… A place you have to experience many times in life.
What to try: Buying a gift card for someone special or bringing them with you next time.
How to make Godiva Chocolatier Healthy: They have a few bars that have artificial sweetener. Stick to the dark stuff, simple chocolates with nuts or crunch. Lay off the heavier items, and milk chocolates. If you’ve kept track of your carb/​sugar intake enjoy a chocolate covered strawberry!
*The only reason I don’t rate five stars is because I would love to see more items sugar free peeps could eat… Otherwise, love this boutique.

I so wish there was a closer location than downtown because I would be here weekly! Got my free piece of chocolate — a chocolate lava truffle! Right now if you spend $ 30 you get a $ 10 gift card to spend next month. Every one here is always very pleasant & helpful.

I’m proud to say we are card holding members. This boutique is a little small and can get crowded, but the chocolate creations and drinks are spot on.
We would religiously visit to get our free piece and invariably grab more to go. You know, that little rush of hormones release by eating delicious chocolate bops us upside the head.
After each holiday, the themed chocolates hit the sale bin. Kudos to the sales people here for keeping the store fresh.

Their chocolate covered strawberries are divine! I guess that’s the only way I can get nutrition. It’s really good.

Their chocolate covered strawberries are my favorite. The strawberries are very large with just the right amount of chocolate coating. However, one should note that they are $ 7 each. I also tried their fruit torte which was very good. There were raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries on top of a small chocolate dish. On a whim I also decided to try the tiramisu truffle since I love tiramisu and I love truffles. This was definitely one of the best tiramisu truffle that I’ve had. It had a strong coffee flavor and was sweet but not overpowering.
Generally I’m not a fan of their plain chocolates but I had a great experience with these specialty treats. They are pricey and one could argue not worth their price. However, for a special occasion they are perfect. The service was quick and personable despite it being crowded for the Valentine’s Day weekend.

Clean compact location with really, really good lighting effects enhanced by the glass multi-​shelving. It makes the place seem more open and functional. The case is always packed full, though it is a smaller case than most stores. They have good service here too. Not as friendly as Fashion Mall, IMO, but very prompt and efficient.

Okay, this is kind of an obvious review, right? There aren’t many among us who don’t like Godiva Chocolate… unless you don’t like any chocolate at all or are allergic to the stuff.
However, I decided to review this location because I like the service I get here. Most of the staff seems to really enjoy waiting on you and there are a couple people who are downright zealous about selling these chocolates. It works, I always purchase more than I intended to when these individuals are working thanks to their suggestive tactics. I know, I know, this would be a good time to have names to provide to all you Unilocalers, but alas, I do not. I promise to work on that the next I hit the store… which probably will be in the not-​too-​distant future :-)
My final thought: I know everything at Godiva is great, but I return time and time again to buy only a few select goodies: truffles in key lime, dark chocolate, raspberry, coconut and vanilla flavors as well as ANY of the limited edition seasonal flavors; the choco-​dipped dried apricots and citrus peel; and the macaroons… YUM!
