Sat on the patio, went at a non-busy time. Service was great, food was great. Definitely would go back!

Positives first: Super cute restaurant, the food was AWESOME(best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had!), and didn’t take long for the food to come out at all. We ate out on the patio which was really nice too. We are visiting from out of town and this is one of our local friends’ favorite restaurants. Negatives/the reason it gets only 2 stars: Our server was 100% drunk. Like actually drunk. He was stumbling, dropped papers/tickets/silverware… he came back TWICE to re-take our order because he had forgotten/gotten it wrong the first time(even though he was writing it down???). He never came by to refill our waters, and when we finally asked him for water he came back and refilled 2 of our 5 empty glasses on the table and then left. Any time we asked him for anything he either forgot or came back to ask us what it was we needed again. We were all shocked that he actually got the checks correct because he seemed so completely out of it. Really unfortunate that that made the experience pretty uncomfortable/frustrating, because it seems like a nice place. I’d still be willing to give it another try someday!

The 2 stars are only for the drinks and our server– she was awesome. Food was gross. It is all microwaved, chicken was frozen, pasta was rubbery. Stick to the bar in the basement.

Great Building, Great Staff… Below Average Food made from Low Quality Ingredients. Some will not notice but look closer. I ordered the Meat and Cheese Plate; there is no way the uniform square cut Cheddar, Jack and Pepper Jack was purchased pre cut bulk. Like something from the Marsh deli. Maybe I’m too picky but with the image and prices you are putting out there, I just expect more. I don’t think I am alone in this as on a sunny Friday night at 7:30, I was one of only 5 tables. I hope it gets better, I absolutely want 10 – 01 to survive.

I had lunch here on Tuesday this week. I ate with someone who shared some appetizers with me. Beef tips were good, the hummus is probably the best I have ever eaten. I like hummus but had to ask for more pita. I loved it. Lunch. Ahi tuna. Outstanding. Cut the perfect thickness. Perfectly prepared and was butter melting in my mouth. Staff was awesome. Find this place in Broad Ripple. Restaurant with a deck and outstanding lower level where all the cool stuff happens.

Downstairs. You all need to go downstairs. That’s where the magic is. Food upstairs is fine– I don’t know what the reviews are all about. There were 6 of us and everyone enjoyed what they got. :) warm out? Enjoy the patio. So many options! AND A FREEPARKINGLOT!

Such mixed reviews on this place. I went there for the first time last night. The place was empty so the server was very accommodating but good was 50⁄50. The salmon was cooked very well and the kale and squash with it was good but I was served maybe 3 small leaves of kale. I ordered the tomato bisque and it was LITERALLY the worst soup I’ve ever tasted. It was like a cup of curdy ketchup. It looked like the bar below was fun but did not check it out.

I want to like this place. Really. Food however is typically under or gratuitously overseasoned, overcooked, and features small servings for the price. At least once a year since 10 – 01 has opened I wander back. And am met with the same food issues. Sad.

After writing my complaint of being overcharged, the management was very appeasing. They gave me a refund for the overage in addition to a gift card. The breakfast buffet was very yummy, particularly the roast beef, as was the bloody mary. I would return to 10 – 01.

I definitely owe an update after a visit under the new management. My wife and I visited during the fall of 2015, very shortly after they switched to new management. It appears that they are now rotating through a few different seasonal items on their menu, including, at that time, a delicious veggie burger. My wife was plenty satisfied with her Mac n’ Cheese, and the drink prices have definitely come down a bit. My only issue was with the service, which was terrible. I had a reservation, but they were also having a party in the basement bar, which may have taken away from staffing the main dining area. Near the end of our meal, our server abandoned us(perhaps his shift ended) and just brought us our check. We didn’t ever get asked if we wanted another drink or dessert, things that were on the plan for our date night out. 10 – 01 has definitely improved with the new ownership. I’m excited that they are changing the menu and spicing things up. It’s the closest restaurant to my house in Broad Ripple, so we will definitely be back. I’m hoping to bump up one more star if service improves on my next visit. With that great patio, I think I can only get to 5 stars if they open that bad boy up to my dog in the summertime. If that happened, we would be there at least twice a month.

It was a sunny Sunday, and we needed food after the excitement that was had the night before. I wanted to try something new, and we just happened to stumble upon a ‘Brunch 10 – 2′ sidewalk sign in Broad Ripple. We made our way upstairs and asked to be seated outside to enjoy what may be the last beautiful day in November. Our server quickly wiped our tables down, stating she didn’t think anyone would sit outside, and mentioned their mimosa and bloody mary specials. They also have a nice beer selection to choose from with $ 5 pints. We made our drink choices and bee lined to the buffet, where a chef was preparing an omelet to order. The variety of options is quite nice, with fresh fruit, yogurt and a variety of toppings including granola. Beside that was a choice of two salads before you got to the hot trays filled with bacon, sausage and cheese scrambled eggs. There was a carving station with roast beef and meatloaf next to another warmer full of biscuits & gravy, mac & cheese and green beans. There were also two choices of salads, and, as if that weren’t enough, there was an entire table of sweet breads, cookies, chocolate drizzeled funnel cakes and bread pudding. Can you say food coma? As we made it back to our seats, our drinks and water were waiting. I dug in, but noticed that there was no salt/pepper/ketchup around and my brunch needed some seasoning. A friend saw us and joined our table with a guest, as a steady flow continued to be seated both in and outside. It was a gorgeous day with great company. I’m so glad we discovered this brunch and only wish I would have brought my daughter along with us.

New favorite spot in all of Indy! Excellent location in Broad Ripple with ample parking(yay!). Huge outdoor deck with TVs and great views of the area. Full bar downstairs too! Love the options! Nice selection of appetizers and salads. Looking for a sandwich? Try the Knife and Fork! 10 – 01 Burger is great as well. Entrée bests are Scallops or the Salmon. My husband always gets the Filet and is never disappointed. Chef specials are always creative and a super choice for something different. Service is superb. Drinks are constantly full and recommendations are spot on. Laid back — never pushy, but very helpful and attentive. Just the way it should be! Love that the place is locally owned.

We tried 10 – 01 for brunch today. Even though my eyes are always bigger than my stomach I love a good buffet of any type! Their Sunday brunch buffet is definitely worth the $ 14! They had an omelet station, prime roast, pancakes, French toast, Mac n cheese, sliders, green beans, biscuits and gravy, two different salads, bacon, sausage, eggs, a great yogurt with all the toppings, and fresh fruit. Do not let me forget to mention the desserts, funnel cake, brownies, and Crème Brulee! It was all flavored great! They let us know that the items on the buffet change weekly! I’ll be sure to take some other friends back here for a Sunday brunch.

I met up with a couple friends on a Sunday for 10 – 01’s amazing fried chicken… Only to realize that they have a shorter menu on Sundays and do not offer said amazing fried chicken. Three out of the four friends were very disappointed. I got a Knife and Fork with broccolini, and I loved the sandwich. It was a bit bigger than I would have liked, so I gave half of my sandwich away and concentrated on the tender broccolini and savored the gooey sandwich. My biggest complaint was that even though the restaurant was empty– the service was lacking. We ordered right away and then hardly saw our waitress again. I plan on going back– on a weeknight to see if things are better. Will update my thoughts after! UPDATE: I went back, on a Sunday again, and ordered the same thing. It was the same waitress– completely MIA. There were a total of 3 customers in the place. The Knife and Fork sandwich I got was raw as was the broccolini. Let me say that again, in case you thought I mistyped it. The meat in my sandwich was uncooked! Not knowing this, I took a couple bites, sensed something was off, and opened up my sandwich to a pink surprise! I asked for the check– pointed at my uncooked meal and the manager apologized and said he would fix it. I identified I would like to pay and leave, so he said he would take care of the check. I left, and got sick as I was driving home. For this– I have downgraded my original rating to a single star.

We came here for Chowdown Midtown. You cannot beat the deal they have going: a 4 course menu for $ 30. We got two appetizers each, main course and our own separate dessert which we shared. Being so used to the shared appetizer and dessert offerings we had in the past, we obviously didn’t know how to act. I got the strawberry salad and risotto balls for appetizer, the filet with green beans for the main course and we share both the chocolate torte & donut holes for dessert. Everything was amazing! The risotto balls came on a spicy sauce that was right up my alley. I’d go back for those alone. We had no complaints as our meal was cooked to perfection although I like my green beans a little more crisp, but these were good. Our server was great and we waited for nothing. Meals came with little waiting. We came at 6:30 so there wasn’t too many people there but plenty busy by the time we left. Oh and my lemon shake up martini was very and potent. I’d recommend if you like sweet drinks.

My sister and I were in broad ripple looking for a place we could have a drink, some food, and discuss business and this place fit the bill perfectly. When we arrived it was completely dead and we didn’t have to wait. The service was great! Our server never let our drinks get empty and made great recommendations. I wish the food would have been a little more appetizing. I had the tomato bisque, It wasn’t gross or even bad, but it wasn’t anything I’d go back for. I will however go back because of the great service and atmosphere and try something different. Let’s hope it’s better next time around.

For being a «new american» restaurant, they sure don’t offer that many vegetarian options. I always forget that I’m limited to the grilled cheese when I go there. I do like the atmosphere and the patio that they offer, but for some reason, I just don’t see a reason to come back to this place. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve given it a few tries, it just never seems to blow me out of he water anytime. Maybe add some more veggie options and I’ll reconsider.

I’d never heard of 10 – 01 Food & Drink before yesterday. It was my wife’s birthday and she wanted to try something new and we found this by stumbling around Unilocal, searching neighborhood by neighborhood. I went in not really knowing what to expect. The restaurant itself had a great atmosphere. It wasn’t too noisy, very modern, and it smelled fantastic. We were seated right away and our server immediately came over to get us settled. She mentioned that they recently added new items to the menu(didn’t make much difference to us since everything was new in our eyes, but it may still be worth mentioning if you’ve been before). We ordered the fried chicken and the brisket. She warned us that the chicken was made to order so it would take a little time. No issue there. The food itself was pretty average. The fried chicken was a little dry and I wasn’t impressed with the seasoning either. I may be a little hypercritical on that front(I’m now comparing all fried chicken directly to Thunderbird’s). The brisket was also just alright. It was served on Texas toast, and was completely slathered in their BBQ sauce. They tout that the brisket is house smoked on their menu. It’s a shame, because there’s literally no way to find out if they did a good job or not. The BBQ sauce completely overwhelmed the meat. All barbecue sauce should be served on the side. Their fries were good(I had my option of side and landed on fries, but mac and cheese, green beans, salads, etc were also options). Ultimately I wasn’t disappointed, but I also didn’t have anything that stood out as being particularly good, hence the three stars. I’d come back and give it another shot but I’ll wait until summer(they had a pretty nice deck that I’ll be taking advantage of).

I chose this spot because I wanted to try something new for my birthday. It was easy enough to make a reservation on a Friday night, and the restaurant was pleasantly busy(not packed, but not questionably empty either). One interesting observation – there were many more white-haired people in this restaurant than what’s typical for BR. I ordered the famed fried chicken, which was good enough. It was fried crispy and had been dipped in a great batter. The mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy were to die for… definitely cleaned those off my plate. The green beans were nicely cooked and pleasantly garlicky. I had plenty for leftovers. I thought the price was reasonable for the food and the area. In general, though, everything was too salty. At one point it felt like my lips were burning with every bite. I would come back to give 10 – 01 another chance. I like the idea of upscale comfort food(I can only eat so much gluten-free roasted bone marrow with kale). It sounds like they are under new management and have plans to change the menu around. Perhaps we’ll come back when it’s warmer to sit on that great patio!

I will start off by saying that 10 – 01 will always have a special place in my heart because it is where my boyfriend took me on our first date a few years back. With that being said, I think this place is just ok. We decided to sit in the upstairs dining room. Love the overall vibe of the place. The dark wood walls and striped wood floor. Our waitress was attentive and nice. During my first visit several years ago I ordered the fish tacos and didn’t like them. I debated between the 10 – 01 burger which my bf enjoys and the grilled cheese nostalgia. I decided on the grilled cheese although instead of getting the tomato bisque and potato I substituted the seasoned fries. The grilled cheese came with three different types of cheese and I added bacon for an additional charge. The sandwich itself was good. Nothing spectacular or unique. I really like this place, but unfortunately the food itself just didn’t stand out enough to me.
